Went for a quick lunch with my lab. It was very cozy environment, service was patient and helpful. Got the 3 tender combo hot. Chicken was so fresh and piping hot , fries were crispy. Wish it was a little spicier but I'll get hella hot next time. Highly recommend. read more

First impression is dirty. Trash on floor where you sit and dirt on the table. Had to wipe down table and seat myself. No one was here since it's 2:15 in afternoon, so my belief is they don't care about cleanliness. If this dirty in public area, how dirty is kitchen. Food: was good. Definitely spicy and freshly made. Gizzards are thin like they are cut in half. Were cooked to slightly burnt. The chicken breast was good but I would not recommend the gizzards. I just can't give an overall good recommendation because I fear the kitchen is dirty (see Hell's Kitchen examples). read more

Ambiance is not fancy, but the food delivers! Super nice staff, and the price is reasonable. Juicy chicken, crispy skin, piping hot, and excellent flavor. I got the mild heat level, and it had a nice kick to it but wasn't overwhelming either. Two downsides: the chicken is pretty greasy and it takes a while to make your order, so keep that in mind. read more

We came upon Helen's on happy accident and there are zero regrets for that. After stopping by the pharmacy across the street, we both smelled and saw Helen's. We didn't have any plans to eat hot chicken for dinner, because we had agreed to go next day to the good ol' "Hattie B's." Right when we walked in, don't know if it was Helen herself or not, but we were greeted warmly, and helped out with how mild mild was and how much spicier each level got. We chatted about traveling via road trip, and felt like old friends chatting at dinner, while we waited for our food. She told us off the bat "we make everything fresh here, so it will be about 18mins. Is that ok?" Guys. Don't walk in there hangry. Chill the f out. Because the wait? Is worth it. The fries were crispy and tender, and I know you know what I mean by reading that. They have Cajun seasoning or something like it, that's spicy, but not spicy enough to ruin a good fry. The wings are huge, wingettes are your more "traditional" size. They have combos, or just wings, and while they do have places to sit and eat; we took ours to go and it was hot and fresh. We really wanted hot Nashville chicken while in town, and this place showed up as second best behind Hattie's which had a massive line. We came here and we're FAR from disappointed!! Very affordable, incredibly delicious, and couldn't have had nice staff. Ample seating to spread out, hand sanitizer provided, staff were all wearing masks, and honestly just delicious! I had the 3 tenders mild chicken with fries okra, ranch and unsweet tea. Y'all this was so flipping good!! I give it to double claw votes which means it was stupid good! Great fish probably best fish I've had by far , chicken is pretty decent keep it simple nothing crazy just right to be honest the only thing hindering them is customer service man . I had gotten hung up on twice in 5 mins and then placed on hold for 20 mins just to get hung up on again . Not only did I place my order online for pick up, but people who were walking in and ordering at the counter were receiving their food first. THEN, they gave my food to a different customer and refused to give me a discount or anything to make up for them screwing up. I didn't even receive so much as a "sorry". So I had to wait over an hour for my food when I ordered ahead, and they couldn't even check that they were giving the correct person the food they're handing out. This location is terrible. The Smyrna location definitely has better customer service. read more
