I probably shouldn't have, but I was eating pretty solid foods and was out and about day 1 post-op haha. I didn't feel much pain, only slight discomfort. I was prescribed hydros in the case I needed them, but all I took were ibuprofen and amoxicillin. Essentially, it's been 2 weeks since then and I had the best experience I could ask for!!

The recovery was just as smooth; my son was pain-free by the second day using the provided ice pack and post-op instructions. The prescription was sent directly to the pharmacy, making the whole process seamless. His recovery was so fast that he was able to attend his first year of college just three days after surgery! I also loved the office layout, which includes a discreet side door to wheel patients out to the car. Upon returning from my trip, I scheduled an emergency appointment with Luc Dental Care. An x-ray confirmed a large cavity in my wisdom tooth. I was immediately referred to Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists for a tooth extraction. I spoke with a friendly representative at Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists who was able to schedule a next day consultation and oral surgery. The following day I arrived to a group of friendly employees at the front desk that greeted me. Since I filled out the intake form prior to the appointment, I was only seated for two minutes before being ushered to the back. An employee took my blood pressure, administered an x-ray, and informed me that the surgeon would be with me shortly. Shortly after Dr. Fries entered the room and introduced himself. He gave me an overview of the procedure that would be conducted, asked if I had any questions, and then started a short video that informed me about post-extraction care. After the video concluded, I was ushered to another room where Dr. Fries and an employee began administering the local anesthesia. Roughly 10 minutes later, after confirming that the anesthesia had kicked in, Dr Fries began the procedure. Throughout the procedure Dr. Fries and the employee did a great job of communicating what was happening (the wisdom tooth was very stubborn in coming out) and verifying that I was not in pain (although there was slight discomfort). Three days later, strictly following the post-extraction rules, I have no pain (thankfully)...thank you Dr. Fries and the rest of the Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists team!

I had my wisdom teeth removed (all 4 at the same time, ouch haha) a few weeks ago and the care I received from the entire staff was top tier. My surgery went very smooth, aftercare was explained thoroughly, and billing was a very simple process. I was also quoted and paid a pretty low price, so that was a very nice bonus as I expected to pay much more. Post op follow up appt was optional and I opted out initially as I thought my recovery would be easy. I was wrong (sadly haha), and in some pretty good pain still about a week post op, which isn't super typical for WT removal. I made a quick phone call to the office and was scheduled the very next day for a follow up just to make sure no dry socket or anything awry was happening. I was reassured everything looked good and just needed to give it some more time. Thankfully now I feel great - just harder healing process because I'm "old" to be getting my WT out ;) I should mention that aftercare (visits, meds, etc) post op was included in the price of the treatment. I was urged by all staff to come back if/when needed and it was nice to feel like I wasn't being burdensome. I even got a check in the mail for a refund for part of my treatment because my insurance covered more than anticipated - really refreshing to see such honest bookkeeping! He poked me multiple times and became increasingly irritated. He said, "I'm not doing your surgery," then I asked if I could reschedule. He refused, almost screaming because he couldn't find a vein! He simply said he wouldn't perform the surgery. This was a traumatic experience. I was in bed, prepared for him to come and do his job, and I had already taken a relaxer as per his instructions. They took X-rays and told me she had two cavities and needed to be referred out for treatment. We scheduled a follow-up appointment, which was today. When we arrived, we were taken back, but then left waiting in the chair for about 30 minutes with no X-rays, no cleaning, nothing. Eventually, the dentist came in (before any hygienist had seen us, which already felt unusual), pulled up the X-rays from three months ago, and immediately began scolding my daughter about her brushing habits. She briefly looked at her teeth, spent maybe 2-3 minutes total, and then said she had no cavities and walked out. Naturally, I was confused since we were originally told she did have cavities. When I asked about it, the hygienist came in and reviewed the same old X-rays, seemingly thinking they were from today. I had to point out that no new images had even been taken. At that point, they started asking me basic intake questions (like who brought us back (male or female) and whether my daughter had sealants before) that should have already been in her chart. which they were after i literally said... i don't know what sealants are can you look on her chart. which they did and they gave her two last check up. What really didn't sit right with me was that even after saying she had no cavities, they still wanted to refer her out to get cavities filled, like to double check the dentists work or confirm? i felt like i was in the twilight zone, and it just screamed "money grab" . The whole situation felt disorganized, careless, and honestly unprofessional. There was no acknowledgment of the confusion or any attempt to clarify what had gone wrong. I don't blame the hygienist, she was nice, and the front desk has always been wonderful, but to watch the dentist look at 3 month old x rays thinking they were from today, and no one knew except me, and no one even knew what worker set us in the chair and left, i knew i was never going to bring my kids back and i'll be returning to my family dentist, even if it means ill be paying out of pocket.
