I came into the store one weekend afternoon just curious what they had to offer. I was in need of blinkies for my bike. I wanted to make sure I got rechargeable USB lights (you know my hippie self)... Both guys at the store were very helpful. I was shown the Book Man lights and I did a little bit of research and well these are one of the better blinkies on the market. Designed in Sweden. They will cost you a pretty penny for 2 blinkies ($50, they come in a pair), but remember it is about quality. Afterwards, I came into the store and had my tired pumped up and all for free and served with nice convo and a friendly smile. I'll be back for basically all my biking needs as I live close by and the place has a chill vibe. read more

This bike shop gives you cheap parts and cheap friendly labor. One of the co-owners (Tyrone) is also a pro BMX-er. I'm not sure of the terminology, but he can pull off some pretty good stunts. The only reason that I'm not giving them the 5th star is because I can to this shop probably 5 times within a month to replace the same inner tube. Granted, it's not in the job description to look at the tire and wheel, they should have probably looked at it sooner to find out why I kept coming back. Eventually one of the guys figured to look and saw my tire was damaged. These guys are truthful about their work. They don't over charge for anything. Friendly, owner-operated, true neighborhood bike shop! I live a few blocks away and have being taking my commuter bikes (1974 Schwinn and now my new Charge) to Dah Bikes for several years now. Tyrone and his people recently fixed my bike which had a very complicated problem (Shimano internal gear hub failure--super rare thing which took forever to get the parts to fix). They give it to you straight--what you need, how much it will cost, what your options are. Went to dah shop yesterday afternoon to true my back rim. Everyone in dah shop are friendly and gave great conversation to their customers, it really made me feel at home. I also noticed when my back rim was getting worked on they took their time to really make sure my rim was trued perfectly. Went to Dah Shop to look for my first BMX bike in over 15 years. I told Tyrone what I was looking for and he made some recommendations and encouraged me to get the bike that felt the best for me, and not the most expensive one. He spent time going over the choices all while working on other customers' bikes. When i finally decided what i wanted he tightened every bolt and screw on the bike, helped me upgrade the tires and said to come back if anything comes loose. Too bad Yelp won't let you give zero stars. I've been coming to this shop for a minute. I've brought other people there and encouraged them to buy stuff, too. Then last night I got there 10 minutes before their closing time to find the guys sitting outside. Told them I didn't need to buy anything, just needed to borrow the pump. "Sorry, bro. We're all closed." Seriously? You can't lend me your pump for like 30 seconds? Let's be clear. He wasn't locking up and running to dinner. He was just sitting there, being rude like whoa. I went into the store initially for a pump. I was so impressed with their service that I ended up getting a new stem, handlebars, clips, and pedals. Both Q and Tyrone knew exactly what they were doing and made great suggestions for my bike. Most bike places are more than willing to just offer you the most expensive part for your bike, but Q offered parts that were more appropriate for what I used my bike for. I feel comfortable going to them knowing that I'll be getting great service and that my bike is in good hands. Awesome awesome awesome! I would not consider going to any other bike shop. read more

I came here for an emergency repair after my headset started locking up - turns out another bike shop either damaged the bearings, or just didn't notice they were worn when giving it a tuneup. The guys at Dah Shop were great - they showed me what was wrong, explained what they recommended doing and how much it was going to cost. The cost was very reasonable, and I'd definitely go there again. They made a little fun of my 70's Fuji tourer, but they gladly worked on it. They specialize in BMX, fixies, and single speeds, but they will service any bike. Just don't expect to find specialty parts there for your road or mountain bike. read more

Took my gf here on Sunday for a new bike rack and rear basket and I could not have been more happy with everything. Qian was not only helpful, he treated us as peers (even though clearly we are so far inferior when it comes to the bicycle world that we have only recently begun to submerse ourselves in). These guys are amazing! Came here to put some air in my 3yo son's bicycle and we ended up getting a pro tune up! You could tell by the detailed work that these guys are pros and love what they do. They checked all the bolts and fixed the ones my husband put on the wrong way (!), adjusted the steering that was off, oiled the chain, and made sure the training wheels where positioned in a way to really help my son learn to balance. The servicing was so memorable that my son talked about it all evening. Im sure this will remain a lasting memory for him! read more

The owner of the store was so helpful! He fixed my gears, pumped my tires and adjusted my seat for $13. He was also so nice and could tell I wasn't completely knowledgeable about the workings of the bike so taught me a few things so I wouldn't completely eff it up again. The owner, a nice and incredibly passionate bike aficionado, not only identified the issue right away, he also fixed it on the spot and tuned my bike up - all this at an incredible rate! These guys are the best in the city. They repaired my parts rather than suggest I replace them, which most shops will do- putting repairable parts to landfill. Not only did I get to keep my rims getting them back with new hubs but their prices enabled me to upgrade some other parts. I paid less than half what I was quoted at another shop downtown. Very friendly service,reasonable price! My friend gave me his scrappy bicycle which had gear,brake,rusty chain,and balance problems. Came in with a flat and got very good service. $6 for a new tube, $8 for labor. The employee took the time to speak with me about a change to my handle bars I've been thinking about. He understood what I wanted when two other shops hadn't and quoted me a fair price. I'll definitely be back when it's time to make the upgrade and for other one offs. This is a wonderful and much needed shop in the area. I brought my bike in for an ad-hoc repair (spoke broke) and the gentleman there was extremely nice and frank with me about what needed to be done. Got a flat near the Manhattan Bridge the other day, and these guys were kind enough to fix me up despite it being 15 minutes to closing time. They also gave me disinfecting wipes and bandaids when I asked if I could use their bathroom to clean off a scratch on my arm. Prices were VERY reasonable, $14 bucks or so for fixing a flat. They do have a $15 minimum for credit card charges, so I added a Gatorade to round it out. Nice guys, quick service, and very willing to help out in a pinch. read more

Qian and Tyrone are awesome! The shop specializes in BMX and fixies, but they will work on anything. I've taken both of my bikes here to get worked on and have always walked away a happy customer. I had an issue with installing my BMX brake setup and brought it in to get looked at. Qian was able to fix it after diagnosing that I had some janky OEM parts that didn't fit correctly, but he made it work. On a separate visit, Tyrone was able to fix my wobbly fork that I tried to fix on my own to no avail. It turned out that my 1" fork needed a 1-1/8" cap to lock everything down because the 1" cap wasn't grabbing onto anything. He was able to fix it while I was there. The repair prices are more than reasonable and I appreciate the super quick turnaround. I really dig the place and try to visit whenever I'm in the area. read more

Tyrone and Kion (sp?) are great! I have no idea what I'm doing with bikes and came in with a front flat on my beat up old schwinn. Tyrone told me I just needed a tube, released the tire and "over saw" me changing it so I could learn how to do it, and so I wouldn't be charged for service. I also bought a bike basket, which he installed for free, and put new reflectors on since the basket covered my old one.
