Worst bike shop I've ever been in. I notice my brake is rubbing so I stop by to use an Allen key for maybe 30 seconds. Guy won't let me use it bc "it will slow him down and cost money" tries to charge me 5$ so he can do it. After seeing other shops are closed he then tells me he'll do it for 5$ and after he finishes working on the bike he's fixing currently. I had to sit and listen to him try and over sell this clue less couple in the shop for an hour. Just give them what they're looking for pal. Absolutely clueless. read more

Remember how it was impossible to buy a bike, or even bike parts, amid the pandemic? You almost had to bribe people, and even that did not work. I walked into this shop by chance, and there my brand new bike was waiting for me - on sale! I did not really believe it could be good bike for the cut rate price of around $200. That was even cheaper than the out of stock bikes I had seen on the internet, and those bikes needed assembly. So why not give the light blue Manhattan mountain bike a try. (No, I had never heard of the brand, either). Turned out that a 7-speed mountain bike, with extra fat tires, is exactly what I need on NYC's potholed streets, with a free tune up after a month. Sounds good, no? But here is the cherry. The bike came with a seat too narrow for my not so small butt, with a large seat costing an extra $40. When I went back to pick up the (fully assembled) bike, though, the owner was there - and he said to come back in a week for a wide seat, free. A week later, I returned and got my free comfy, large seat. A bargain on top of a bargain. My only caution is that, after the sale, they do try to sell you extra stuff. I just said no, however, and that was it. Does it get any better? read more

GoGo Gone did a full overhaul of my GIANT Escape 3 this week and the results were superb with braking and overall performance. My ride is much more responsive cruising NYC streets and bridges. Due to the strong online presence of bike shops, I would love to go support my local bike shop as much as I can. But this bike shop is a little different. I went in with a simple mechanical fix that requires a large Allen key. You would expect the price of that would be like $5 max. The Asian guy in the counter assumed that I had no prior bike maintenance knowledge. He quoted me a price that was unbelievably high along with extra costs to bring the price up even more. So, I negotiated with the guy and he ended up charging me $15 for a simple screw in. That's like 3 times more than what I expected to get charged. If you don't want to get ripped off don't go to this guy. If you got mechanical issues, go to bobo's which is two blocks down for a better experience and an affordable price. Be careful, this person will prey on your lack of bike maintenance knowledge. read more

I had a really nice experience buying a bike from Robin. With the pandemic, bike stock is very limited and tons of models are backordered! I was looking for a Giant Escape 2 and GoGo Gone was the only store in NYC that had it in my size. Robin answered all my questions as I weighed the differences between a few different models, and I walked away with the bike I came to get. Great staff and great service. I had a bike that needed a tune up. I'm not an expert with bikes so they could have easily overcharged. However they were very professional and did an amazing job. They even said I didn't need a more expensive tune up which they could have. My bikes riding better than ever. I also thought I may need new tires and was willing to pay but they said my tires were in good condition still plenty of miles left on them. Christian was so warm and professional, he fixed a flat for me quickly and efficiently after I walked my bike 2 miles in the rain. His store is gorgeous and new, he was playing cool chill music, and they're open 7 days with long hours. But best of all there's no step to get inside the shop; you just wheel right in and it's a wide doorway, woohoo! Super reasonably priced as well. I literally just bought my bike from here and was so happy start to finish with my transaction. The owner is extremely helpful and not at all pushy which is so refreshing, and his bikes are beautiful and very reasonably priced! I payed $270 for my fixed gear bike. I was a bit nervous I wouldn't like how it rode as I'm used to gear bikes but it rides so smoothly and very fast! He even said if it was harder to ride he could make an adjustment to the bike for me. Also with the yelp checkin I managed to get my boyfriend a handlebar he needed at no charge. Cannot recommend enough for great bikes at a great price and with excellent customer service. read more

Didn't expect anything until the morning at least, but they got right to me and answered all my questions right away. I ordered a 6KU Barcelona bike. I was informed it was in the very next day. Over the weekend I went to pick it up and was given a lot of personal attention about seat height and answered my questions patiently. A few days later Diego followed up to make sure I was pleased with my purchase. As for the bike, it is just what I needed. A daily commuter. Prices arent fair, when you buy a bike from the shop they say you get free labor when you purchase parts, but the price on replacing parts does not reflect free labor, it reflects as if he is charging you for labor, when its supposed to be free, the owner also sold me a bike with a defective back wheel, when I finally noticed and came back he tells me "well you have eyes you should've noticed that". Great selection of affordable bikes. The manager and employees here are really nice and helpful. I actually came across this shop's site a couple of years ago eyeing the Evo bikes but never followed through because I found a cheaper option on Craigslist. A friend recommended it recently so it was a neat coincidence. My boyfriend and I went in earlier today for him to get his first road bike. The one that I suggested for him, the owner had used it here and there so he knocked off a decent chunk for that. We got a free bell with the Yelp check in and my bf also opted for a kickstand and a drink holder. I'm thinking about possibly going for one of their single speeds since I'm looking for something really lightweight on a pretty low budget. Best $240 I ever spent! I have a "single speed Golden" manufactured in California and bought it in February. I ride it about 30 miles a week and so far I've only replaced the back break pads. If you bike in Manhattan and Brooklyn like me, single speed is the way to go. This bike is light weight and low maintenance. Since the decline in service and price gouging from the MTA, I ride my bike more and spend less on subway rides. Not to mention losing weight and having fun exploring the city from the view of my trendy bike. Went with the silver frame and orange wheels. I get compliments on the regular basis....... read more

They have drop dead gorgeous single speeds/fixed gear for $270 and geared bikes for $350. If you want an affordable and attractively hip bike definitely go here. You won't be disappointed. Terrible service, rude staff, FAULTY BIKES. I was really stoked to go to get bikes with my girlfriend and we left happy though my girl was a bit nervous every and scared about getting on a bike after ten years, we left happy. We never got to ride them but when we left the place and got back to our neck of them woods, her first attempt I'm eating on the bike was terrifying. She was immediately put into a survival situation when her seat fell of the bike in the middle of the street. She panicked decided she didn't want the bike anymore. So the next day I called to try and return the bike that she never even got to ride and the guy that was there that initially put her bike together answered and when I explained the issue to him, he proceeded to cut me off and talk over me. Understandably I got upset and asked to speak with the manager and he said no and hung up on me. By this point I was fuming so I decided, I didn't want their bikes at all and I wanted to return mine as well. I never had the chance to ride mine either because the point was to go on bike rides with my girlfriend. After work the same day, I went back to the bike shop where the Owner/Manager told me that I couldn't return the bikes because they were "used" I responded with we never got a chance to ride them he insisted that they had been ridden. I said the only time the bikes had been ridden was when we test drove the bikes BEFORE we purchased them (and so did about three other people who were looking to by bikes at the time we were there.) I didn't care that the bike I ended up purchasing had already been ridden by a few people, it was just around the block a few times. The owner/ manager kept saying that the bikes say no refund and no return as the return policy and being so worked up and upset, I didn't even think to check. I began to raise my voice a little because the both of them just wouldn't here me. I then proceeded to call the bike mechanic a moron because he kept insisting that everything was right but obviously not because my girls bike fell apart in the street. The mechanic then started to yell at me. I realized name calling was unnecessary so I apologized for that. The Manager/Owner then said he was gonna call the cops if I didn't leave the store and I urged him to repeatedly. the mechanic told him to call and then he reluctantly called the police. (I'm pretty sure he just wanted to threaten to call the cops for me to leave and wasn't expecting me to agree and tell him to call them.) Then after reading the return policy posted in there shop and online stating "Return Policy: If you wish to return your item, you may do so within 7 days of purchase. All items must be in brand new condition. Customer is responsible for 15% restocking fee for all returns. Outside of 7 days of delivery, all products are non-returnable, non-refundable, and non-exchangeable. If a returned item is received damaged due to negligent riding by the customer, no refund will be given and the bicycle will not be repair. For pre-orders, the deposit is not refundable if customer decides to cancel the order. Store credit will be given for what was left as deposit of full value of the purchased products." (also stated on the website and all receipts) THE OWNER LIED! THEY DO GIVE REFUNDS! SO WHEN I ASKED HIM ABOUT HIS POLICY, HE TRIED TO CHANGE IT. I started to get upset again and started to yell. My girlfriend then stepped in and spoke with him asking him what was wrong with the bikes. When he said "nothing" she asked why he was refusing to refund the bikes at all. The bike shop started to get filled with other customers and I believe they over heard the conversation we were having. (It's a very quaint shop. There's not much space for people to be for anyone not to hear.) Then some of his customers started to leave. He then agreed to return my girlfriends bike but not mine and when I asked why he had no real reason so he pretended to check out the bike and the agreed to refund it. I paid $550 for both bike and he tied to get away with only giving me $320 back. When I presented him with the math for everything we bought, (Bikes, helmet, protective gear) it came out to $695. The then docked me 15% form that so I walked about with about $600. MY WHOLE DAY GONE AND $100 POORER. All because of a bad job that they didn't want to own up to. I hope they don't treat any of their other customers this way. I'm not going back. (NOTE: I had not idea this review didn't post until a few days ago. This happened back in August of 2015 I don't know how the business is run now but hopefully it's much better than what I experienced.) read more

Have had bike for 2 months or so, and have been in shop twice (after purchase): Quality of bike - I've had 2 flats, a bent rim & brake issues. Buy new brake pads immediately! Frame is strong, and everything else seems to be good. It's light & fast, do wish cables were hidden in frame. Whoever installed wheels, handlebar & brakes to frame did not take the time to tighten bolts/screws to spec. Bike shop - The shop doesn't fit you to the bike,weird in itself...but they also don't offer to adjust anything once you purchase. I asked the person helping me to adjust seat, he made it seem like that was an outrageous request. Not great customer service, at all...and I had just spent $300, can't imagine how people "window shopping" are received! Guy was nice enough, butt no friendliness to his demeanor - didn't act like he enjoyed working around bikes. Won't go back to this shop due to distance & face that I can receive much better service across the street from where I live. Overall, good solid "entry" fixie/single speed bike from an "ok" bike shop. Unless you live across the street from this place, my opinion is that you're better served going somewhere else. read more

I bought my 6KU bike from this store about two months ago. Fin was the one who assisted me and what a delight! Made my first purchase such a great experience. I wanted to get a basket installed on the front of my bike and Fin even installed that for me with no additional cost! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bike. Ride it everywhere I go and get compliments on it all the time. Especially because of the color! A lovely mint green. Service was great here and so was the product!
