You know the shop looks good, but in fact the sellers treat customers disgustingly! They didn't want to cut me a huge sausage at Deli, after which the guy said you have to buy then I'll cut it for you, the blonde girl punched me in the product that I didn't buy two pieces! When I came to this shop I was in a good mood, but unfortunately people here deceive their customers, so this is my last visit here! Be careful !!!! The prices are above average! ! This store is one of my favorite stores to stock up on Eastern European goodies. The store is clean and fully stocked with fresh items (I know expiration dates can be an issue at some of these stores). What sets them apart is their extensive beverage offering, their deli counter, freshly baked cakes (yay for Medovik) and their prepared items such as Olivier, chebureki, galuptsi (cabbage rolls) although they don't give you the sauce, and of course piroshki. The folks working there are courteous and helpful and will gladly suggest and explain the different meats. No tastings at the deli, unfortunately. Prices for regular goods are comparable to nearby stores but their prepared dishes tend to be a bit on the higher side. Other than that, this place is great and will likely have what your heart desires.

The good: I was excited to see that there was a Russian store not too far from me. This isn't the largest one I've been to but there aren't many in this city so this is as good as it gets! They have most of everything you might look for including deli meats, cheeses, pastries, cookies, candies, canned foods, alcohol and bread. I tried two of their medovik-type cakes, sour cherry juice and brown kefir from here. The kefir was nice and the flavor reminds me of sour cream. I thought the medovik would be made in house but I am not sure if they are shipped from somewhere else based on the packaging. One of them had a honeybee made of sugar on it while the other was lighter in color and may have been something else besides medovik. I liked the darker one better because it had more flavor. The sour cherry juice was almost $5 and came in a super pretty glass bottle I've never seen before. The bad: The lighter colored medovik-like cake was sweet and lacked a distinguishable flavor. The interesting: My husband told me that the store name is the national fruit symbol of Russia.

2/3/20 This is a great international market with selections from various countries. I came here for the ready made dishes like borscht, chicken patties, salads, and those delicious cakes. Make sure you try a slice of spartak or medovney cake, you won't regret it! So yummy!!

Was delighted to find this Russian store with great reviews and raves about their cakes. They did not have the honey cake but they did have a chocolate cake which was great. Also picked up some unique chocolate which was really good. They were staffed by some very friendly, helpful young ladies.

Hidden gem by Almaden area, owner should advertise "Russian market" instead of international since there are so many international market around South Bay but limited Russian/ Easter European. Didn't even know this store existed despite eating at Nick Greek store next door many times. They have great selections of everything, will be one of my fav store from now on.

Welp, used to shop and spend a lot of money in this store. Not any more!!! As you can see from a picture ,the lacash they sold me became completely covered in mold withing 2 days !!!! Anybody who knows anything about lavash knows it's not supposed to happen, especially within 2 days if the product is fresh. Moreover ,the Russian candy that I bough for my students' had a worm inside !!!!! I guess $60 down the drain... Never again will I shop there and I urge you not to either.

Staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful, and even when we moved to the bar after dinner, the bartender was awesome. The place had a lot of seating available in multiple rooms, with lovely artworks throughout and a combination of exposed brick and wooden wall panels. And though we didn't come on a night with live music or entertainment, we absolutely enjoyed our experience here. To eat, we got the sausage combination platte, wiener schnitzel plate with potato salad, and jägerschnitzel dish. The portion sizes are quite large, and we were impressed by the taste and quality of each of these items. The sausages were so juicy and flavorful, two of them stood out but I didn't know which one was which. It wasn't too heavy, which I appreciated as well. The breaded pork cutlet was yummy, especially with the thick buttery white wine mushroom sauce, and the spätzle was cooked perfectly. I finished every single bite, and I'm typically not a big fan of pasta. That's how much I liked the dish. My bf wiped his plate clean too, with tender veal and german style potato salad. I liked how the soft drinks came in beer mug looking glasses, fitting for the theme. We also tried a couple different german schnaps before leaving, the jagertee and bärenjager, and both were really good.

I have to start my review by saying how sorry I feel for all the people who come here and spend…read moretheir hard-earned money. I apologize on behalf of this place, and please don't judge European cuisine based on the kind of terrible food you get here. Nothing is authentic about preheated food that's supposed to come freshly out of the oven. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just put some of it in the microwave. We arrived on a Saturday at 5:45 PM and the place was completely empty. The owner's first question was whether we had a reservation. That was the first red flag I should have noticed, but the red flags just kept coming. The food arrived suspiciously fast. We ordered a lot of dishes, so I was actually worried it wouldn't even fit on the table. The first thing I asked for, as a European, was bread. I asked if they could bring out plenty so I wouldn't have to keep asking for more. She brought 4 tiny pieces and said, "If you eat all of it, I'll bring more." Well, that didn't sit well with me. After the first bite, I immediately asked her to take it back because it was terrible. It tasted like minimum one-week-old dry, moldy bread. Then the manager came to the table and interrogated me about why I called the bread terrible. He claimed it was "authentic German bread" right after finding out I was European just minutes before. I even asked them to at least put it in the toaster, hoping that would improve it a little. After that, it felt like they kept harassing us. "Is everything okay?" Even the owner started yelling from the other side of the restaurant asking if everything was good. I'm only posting the pictures to show how much food we ordered -- and there wasn't a single dish that wasn't terrible. This is the type of food that's only enjoyable when it's fresh. Not a single dish tasted like it was cooked that day. Just think about how day-old reheated French fries taste -- terrible. That's exactly how we felt about the entire meal. The weirdest part came when we asked for to-go boxes. They didn't know we only planned to take the food home for my friend's dog. When they came back with the boxes and tried taking the plates away, my friend said, "Oh wait, I want to take that pork skin for my dog." The waitress replied that she could bring a smaller box for it, and I was honestly so close to saying, "Save yourself the trip -- all of this food is for the dog anyway. Just put it with the rest." But I decided not to be as rude and unprofessional as the staff was here. I don't think I even need to mention that we will never come back. I posted this mainly to warn my fellow Europeans not to come here, and to educate those who may not realize that nothing here is fresh. I'm saying all of this as a former restaurant owner in Europe, a former chef, and simply as someone who knows how food is supposed to taste.

I should've used my instincts when I came in to this crowded unclean restaurant that this was the beginning of a terrible experience. Floors aren't swept, tables covered in food and dishes, people crowding the register. But like most adventurous people who respect the food industry, I get that staff can be backed up or some orders take longer to cook, or maybe there's just a large party dining in. I truly get it. I wanted to give this a chance as it seemed like a diamond in the rough due to the current review status. Boy was I so wrong. I waited for over an hour for a soup, salad and pork Schnitzel (still waiting as I type this review) . Staff did not give us any update, nor did they seem to remember what we ordered, no sense of urgency. What's the point of giving us a receipt number, or table placard with numbers if no one is following it, and there's a handful of people asking for a status update? It wasn't until we asked for a refund IF they haven't started with preparing our order did they actually care. Mind you now it's 30minutes before closing, they are still taking orders and they still haven't served others who are just as upset for not being served. Maybe it was a bad day, but it affected me and family enough to not consider coming back. Good luck to you Esther's Update: after 1hr 45min, They forgot our salad, the soup of the day was sub par Campbells soup, and their pork schnitzel was lackluster.
