I saw a review for this coffee house and eatery that a freind reviewed and I put it on my to try list. There is no parking on Lewis Avenue where the small shop is but there is some on Fourth Street. I lucked out and didn't haven to pay for parking as they are doing street work there. Where aren't they? I had the breakfast sando in mind and that's what I ordered. For my coffee, I got an iced Honey Baby--honey, cinnamon, and oat milk latte. I sat on a high top chair at the window where there's a long counter for individuals. The place is small. I enjoyed some of my coffee while waiting for the breakfast sando--an everything bagel, scrambled egg, ham, bacon, tomatoes, colby jack cheese, and chive schmear. The sandwich is huge When the counter woman brought it, she also brought a large number of napkins. You need them. This is a large sandwich filled with goodness and the schmear will get on your fingers and in my case I had some in my beard. The sandwich was great! A really different treat for breakfast. Worth a stop even with all the construction going on which is quite frustrating! I'm glad I stopped here. Dropped in after juror selection and was surprised that this small shop had a big menu. Ended up getting one of their lattes on ice and it was delicious. The coffee here is decent, but the food consistently misses the mark. I've tried several items -- the avocado toast, both breakfast sandwiches, and the loaded tots -- and each one has been very underwhelming. Simple mistakes are made, and the dishes taste more like premade grocery store food than something freshly prepared, which is confusing since I can see them cooking to order. Not sure if is lack of salt, the quality of the food or the "cooks." The avocado toast is the biggest disappointment: a mash of fresh and overripe avocados spread on bland bread with no seasoning. It feels careless and unappetizing. Overall, the food lacks flavor, quality, and attention to detail. The decor and people are always very nice.... unfortunately, that's not enough. read more

The girl taking our order (short, Asian female) was texting on her phone the whole time we were placing our order. The order total came to about $53 - which we assumed was probably because of the 3 orders of avocado toasts we made. When the food came out, it was one avocado toast with a mountain of eggs on it. We asked a separate worker if the other 2 avocado toasts were coming out soon. She apologized and said the order on the system was for 1 avocado toast with 3 eggs on it. $53 for an order of avocado toast, a muffin, and 2 small coffees taken by an unprofessional employee. It is a 1 minute walk from the court house building (200 E Lewis). The walk was a safe , short, and was surrounded by beautiful trees. The one thing I appreciated . We went on a Tuesday afternoon right before they were closing and got a clam chowder which was $6-7 using crypto, and had great service by the staff. The clams and potatoes were pretty tasty! This is a cute cafe on the corner of 4th and Lewis near the courthouse. It has a basic cafe menu with drinks, salads, and sandwiches. This morning I had a Forrest latte (black Forrest with berry and white chocolate) and a blueberry muffin. Both were quite tasty. It's clear they use high quality ingredients. I've been here countless times being that I work around the corner, this place is located downtown on 4th street & Lewis. A great location right by the court house. For those driving trying to find parking can be a little tricky though! Every time I've come they never disappoint, the staff & owner are always nice & will accommodate your coffee as requested. Definitely recommend trying their Honey Baby, & caramel waffle coffee & the matcha green tea , so rich & tasty! Their food never disappoints, the Ultimate Breakfast Sando is always our go to loaded with food, the Caprese Panini & the hot Italian are a must try! They do also offer soup but not consistent with what's displayed. The place is always clean! inside & outside seating as well. I have retuned to Daily Dose because for one, it's nearby where I work so, it's a convenient location if you work DTLV. However, the number of times I've had to retune because my sandwich was not made correctly, is unfortunate. Most of the other times when I returned to have my order corrected it was satisfactory, for the most part. But I shouldn't have to return in the first place. Today, I ordered a BLT like I usually do and requested to add on for $2.00, avocado. When I picked up my sandwich I returned immediately to work but when I opened it, there was no avocado. So, I returned to the store and asked for avocado that I paid for. I was given a sandwich that was sloppily applied with avocado that only made it around the edges of the sandwich. There have been at least two other occasions when I didn't even receive bacon on my BLT. Understandable there could be a rush for lunch but with 5 employees behind the counter this is very disappointing. read more

Wonderfully charming cafe on a tree lined, downtown street. Daughter and I had quick bites and coffee after her Senior Sunrise event at the Arts HS close by. The owner (?) was extremely friendly and accommodating. Offered us the menu and said if we didn't find what we wanted, to please let him know and he'd create a meal to our liking - a bespoke breakfast! We did end up ordering bagel and brioche sandwiches off the menu and they were delicious, very innovative. Husband is a chef at a major LV casino and would have loved this establishment.
