We decided to try this place out since it was a Wolfgang Puck brand. It was also in our favorite neighborhood, the arts district. We made a reservation for a Saturday. It was pretty busy. The restaurant is small. The decor is beautiful and modern. There's a separate bar area, dining room, and bakery counter. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. My spouse started off with bottomless mimosas. I had a delicious coffee. They were out of croissants, so I tried the almond croissant and it was heaven. For my meal I had the quiche Lorraine. It was delicious. My spouse had the Smashburger and he loved it. Overall, it was a five star experience. We will definitely be back.

My mom and I stopped in for coffee and breakfast and some bread to go today. We were seated quickly. Our order was taken and our coffees were brought out promptly and piping hot. Two delicious mocha. I ordered the main street special and my mom ordered the French toast, however, when our order came, my mom's was not the French toast. It was the croissant breakfast sandwich, but about 1 to 2 minutes later , someone came by to grab that because it was the wrong order and they were quickly making my mom's breakfast. So while we were waiting for her breakfast to come, a young lady who I think is the or is one of the managers, she brought us a plate with a very large slice of banana bread and offered us an apology for mixing up my mom's order, which happens, people make mistakes and it's really OK. And then when we were finished with our breakfast, that same manager brought a large slice of their raspberry Basque cheesecake and we were not charged for these items because they really wanted to apologize for the mixup in the kitchen on my mom's order. The wait staff takes your order on this tiny little gadget and it's like the size of our cell phones, and how many of us make a mistake on our own cell phone devices, our small cell phone devices with our big fumbling fingers, so I see how easy it can be on the even smaller device that the wait staff use to put in your order. It was really no big deal at all, but still it was very kind and generous of the manager to bring us those two free items as their way of saying we're sorry we brought out the wrong breakfast item to you. This place is a gem, and I will definitely be back, because I want to try more of the breakfast items and definitely the lunch items and the coffee is very very good and they have wonderful bread and pastries to go. The decor inside is very warm and welcoming. Don't miss out on this place whether you are visiting or you are a local. Stop in when you can, and the parking outside is very easy. The vibe inside is so welcoming. And I want to give a big shout out to our waiter, I think his name was Tony or Anthony and the young lady Celina, who brought us those wonderful treats.

My colleagues and I stopped by here in June for breakfast before we flew back from our work trip. I found 1228 on Yelp as one of the top places for brunch in the Arts District. It was already so hot even though we went around 9-10am. Food, drinks, and pastries were all so good! Even my chat GPT recommended this place and few items from their menu! Staff was super attentive and nice and everything was so good! I love the decor and if I live in the area I would've loved to come back at night for the bar section. Highly recommend!

Such a pleasant staff. Food and drinks were great too. Will definitely be our Arts District pastry stop Clifton now on.

1228 Main is a Bakery, Bar, and Restaurant that Serves Breakfast and Lunch in the Arts District of Downtown Vegas. This restaurant is part of the Wolfgang Puck Restaurant Group. This restaurant is also cashless so bring your cards here. There is a main casual dining area with a view of the bakery and some of the kitchen action. There also is a second room with a bar and a few tables. I've been coming here for a few years now. Over the past year they have discontinued their dinner service. Many of our favorite plates here were from dinner so our last several visits were lunch visits. A few servers back we were told that they were bringing back dinner but it's been a year since we heard that. This time I had the smoked salmon tartine (open faced salmon toast) It was fine and good. I'd prefer a tad bit more of the pickled fennel to make it taste special but it was still very good. My husband had the wagyu smash burger again. It was OK but now this is two or three times in a row that it wasn't as juicy as they used to serve it. We always enjoy the lemon cruffin here. I'm surprised that they don't have a line out the door for this particular baked good. Service was mostly very good. (This was hysterical...YOU'D Laugh) The server asked my husband while he was shoveling in some fries, "Are you still eating that?" In my mind if the burger was on the dry side two times in a row then I have to give less than 5 stars. But really everything else we had here was FIVE stars. I would give 4.5 stars if that was an option.

This was a great spot that my friends and I enjoyed. We arrived at 9:30am and easily got a table for 4. We were so enraptured in our conversation, we took forever ordering from the menu but the waiters were kind and patient. I got a cappuccino, the crème brûlée croissant, and the Main Street special (eggs, toast, bacon, and potatoes). The croissant was so good and the bacon was utter perfection. Everyone enjoyed the meals and my friend was raving about the matcha. The restaurant is also very pretty and the bathrooms were clean. You can also order at the counter and take your things to go. They had tables outside too. I look forward to a future visit.

What a cute little gem downtown. Great location if you are checking out all the vintage and antique shops. The parking is a little challenging so give yourself time before your reservation. The service was remarkable. Our guy was very attentive and helpful the entire time. Before I left I ordered a coffee, he saw I took the lid off to cool it down and without asking he brought me a cup of ice to help. He was very thoughtful and pleasant. The ambiance was loud but it's cute and simple inside and with the outside light coming in made it nice. There is a nice bar separated by a wall from the dining area. It is welcoming and nicely lit. I had the Reuben sandwich. The bread was dripping in butter but had a great flavor and was still crunchy. The pastrami, slaw and Russian dressing combo was really delicious and I'd recommend. The fries were good, I would maybe have cooked them 1 minute longer but I like mine more crunchy. My husband had the brunch burger with bacon and egg and he really liked it but would suggest to add another patty if you're hungry. My fil had the Smash double patty burger and he said it was really good. The buns were soft and tasted fresh and the meat was well flavored. They have a super cute pastry bar that looks amazing but I was too full to try anything but we will go back again soon.

First time trying this place. I got the pastrami Ruben on sourdough instead of multi grain. The sandwich was delicious! But word of warning it's really messy! It has Cole slaw with Russian dressing instead of sauerkraut. But it tastes very good. The dressing makes it messy though. But it was worth it. The fries are crispy despite being on the fat side. The sandwich is not large but it was filling and I couldn't eat all the fries. There's a bar on one side of the restaurant and a dozen or so tables. On this Friday for lunch about 1/2 the tables were open. The service is very good and I got my food pretty quick and he checked back often. Checking out took a little bit because I used a coupon

So much quality & local spots in this part of town! Love 1228 Main for a good spot to enjoy a meal or a good spot to grab pastries! We need more of this kind of combo in the "suburbs " of Vegas! Come out to us please! We enjoyed our meal, dessert and takeaway goodies! Very nice and clean restaurant and service was also wonderful! Thank you!

Exterior is very modern and chic.

Hubby brought me here on a surprise impromptu date night, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was very pleased with my meal at 1228 Main. There are some issues, but this restaurant does a lot really well. The menu is very limited, and there are little to no vegetarian / vegan options. This really shocked me, especially for a restaurant in the Arts District. I'm unsure if the chef would be willing to accommodate, but it seemed like the type of place that you'd be told "no" if you wanted to modify something to be meatless. Minus a star for limited veggie options. Another thing I didn't like was the overall atmosphere. It's a working bakery and kitchen, which means there was a never-ending clatter from the kitchen as well as the distracting smell of bread baking. Both kitchens were also producing a lot of heat, and the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. I was not cool and relaxed, and they are in desperate need of better air conditioning. I cannot imaging how horrid the summer months must get, and I will be sure to avoid dining here during that time. I also found the service to be lacking. It wasn't unprofessional, but I would call it inattentive. For a nicer, chef-driven restaurant, I expect far, far better service. My water glass shouldn't be empty, and I would appreciate a server at least checking in on my within 5 minutes after my meal is served. Our waiter dropped our food and never returned, leading to us having to repeatedly try to flag down anyone to bring us water since we were desperate for a drink! Now on to the good! The food was so fresh and tasty. While the menu didn't offer detailed enough descriptions, I was happy with what I ordered. We shared a shrimp appetizer that was beautifully fried and presented, and the portion was large (actually, I'd say it was too large) for two people. I'd only order this again if we had one or more friends with us. The shrimp quality was exceptional, and the flavors were on point. Next up was the bread service with butter. Get this. It features whatever fresh breads they've made recently, and it was so good. I actually wish this was larger, I needed more bread slices! Our server gladly brought us extra butter for no additional charge, which I appreciated. For our entrees, hubby got the steak and I got the shrimp pasta. He said the steak was good, but not great. My dish was excellent. I loved the fresh flavors and the sweet peas added so much to the buttery sauce. We both had leftovers and agreed that the dishes reheated so well that they tasted almost as good as they did the night before! I was pleased with how reasonably priced the wine list was! I got a quality glass of sparkling wine for $14, and he got a special pickle juice cocktail for under $20. The cocktail was laughably small, but they didn't skimp on liquor or flavors. The wine list and cocktail list are incredibly well curated. The dining room was surprisingly empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. It was very easy to secure a reservation at the last minute. I hope that's not forecasting a bad time ahead for this restaurant. Eventually a few tables started to fill in, but it was far from packed on a weekend night. Despite a few bumps in the road, I will recommend 1228 Main and will be sure to return. I don't think it's destined to be a personal favorite of mine, but I will add it to our local dining rotation.

1228 wow! I am a repeat customer and you can find me at the bar with an espresso martini in hand. Last year my favorite brunch item was discontinued and that was the egg salad sandwich. I know that sounds like a boring option, but let me tell you! I miss it everyday. I do enjoy their burger and croissant sandwich. This is a cute spot where you can see the pastries being made and prepped. The bar area is a great place to chit-chat with whoever you're with! This is also a solid brunch choice. At the end of your meal, ask for the cookie of the day and get it warmed!

Enjoyed some breakfast down here in the Arts District! I had the Quiche and my mother had the 2-egg breakfast! This is definitely one of my favorite quiches I have had. Nice and crispy top, flakey crust and soft creamy inside! The service was great, and very attentive. Nice early morning crowd, but seated immediately.

1228 is amazing!!! I visited 3 times for weekend brunch before I wrote this review and it has been consistent all along! Located in the Arts district - 1228 Main provides Las Vegas locals with top quality foods, great menu selection and artisan pastry and bread chefs, and all that in local setting! Prices are also appropriate! First time I got here, I was skeptical about the bakery in the Arts district, but after trying their donuts, breads, quiches - I was blown away! Every weekend I came here there was a different special item they were pushing - yet it was always good. Even matcha filled donuts (I am no matcha lover) were awesome!!! Of note, I would say breakfast burrito is fabulous, quiche is good and I really liked corned beef hash with eggs! Service is good. Consistently good. To be honest we felt our server first and second time might have been nice to us, so the third time we had a different server and it was still great! Ambiance resembles open space with dark wood tones contrasted with white open kitchen! Very clean and immaculate! Street parking was not the problem for weekend brunch!!!

We have dined there in the past and have always sat at a table but we came in on a whim and there was only bar seating, which was fine. Everything was delicious and so well prepared. I didn't get many pictures because as soon as each dish came out, we were digging right in! My favorite was definitely the lobster rolls. You get two mini rolls stuffed with lobster, and they have a little bit of a spicy kick, which I absolutely loved. The drinks were great too. Overall, the savory food, cocktails, atmosphere, and service were fantastic, and we'd absolutely recommend Beauty & Essex. I would just skip the Wonder Wheel next time and ask if they can bring a few of the shared dishes out together!

Food always is brought out quickly and I enjoy sitting at the counter to eat a meal while watching the chefs make the daily specials. Must get: cucumbers

At first glance you can mistaken it for just a ramen small front restaurant. We had a party of 5 and we had several waiters tend to us. They asked for allergies , wrote down notes and really took their time to explain the menu. Our server even brought out the Soto Sake for us because he overheard us saying we were celebrating 2 birthdays. The sake shots were easy to drink and tasted so smooth! It was my first time trying it. Now for the most important , Food!! It was great. We had several appetizers and I loved the cucumbers and my favorite was the shishito peppers!! Amazing ! Walnut Lobster + Shrimp - the lobster was delicious but I would say the shrimp was a little salty for me and I love salty foods so that says alot . For the price we paid for this dish , over $200, I wish the shrimp wasn't as salty. It's definitely worth to try it once but it probably wouldn't be a dish I'd get again If that makes sense. Otherwise I would have easily given 5 stars if the shrimp wasn't salty. The miso ramen was so flavorful and delicious!! If you are eating family style where you share everything , this bowl can feed 3 people with the small bowls. This is a must!!! The steak , mushroom ramen, brussel sprouts, beef fat fries were also amazing! Be prepared to be spend $$$$ here!
