We ordered a rack of ribs ($32 with no sides), chili cheese fries ($19), and brisket fries ($17). Our takeout order took about 50 minutes, and after a convenience fee and tip, the total came to over $87. The ribs were fairly fatty and average at best. The chili cheese fries were covered with so much chili that they were more like a bowl of chili with fries underneath. The brisket fries were probably the best item we ordered, although the meat was more similar to shaved steak than the BBQ brisket we expected. To be fair, the portions were generous, and while we were waiting, a local customer mentioned that the mac and cheese is one of their better menu items. The staff was also friendly. That said, for nearly $90 for takeout for two people, I expected a much better overall experience. Nothing we ordered stood out, and the food quality simply didn't justify the price or the 50-minute wait. Based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're specifically going for menu items that regulars suggest. Last note for fairness- the actual SMOKE/tenderness of the ribs was very good.

I wasn't expecting much since it's located in the small farming village of Sebewaing, I was 100% WRONG. Our meals were simply superb, prepared perfectly, very large portions, and reasonably priced too. A person is given choices in regards to how spicy he wants his meal, "none," mild, hot, or spicy. I made the choice of hot which was MY mistake. When I was asked how my meal was I told my server it was a bit too spicy for me she offered to take back my meal and have it remade. I told her that "the customer is NOT 100% correct and it was MY mistake." She seemed quite surprised at my response and asked me again, I told her that I would make rice at home to add to my leftovers which I did. My leftover Cashew Chicken was just as delicious the next day. The next time I'm looking for Snowy Owls I will be definitely stopping in again for a great meal and hopefully I will be able to located some Snowy Owls on the road trip.

The new owners renovated the business from a store to a store/deli, offering delicious sandwiches, beer, soda , prepackaged German meats and delightful displays of various items. Worth Browsing, but I'd Skip the Food…read more Willi's Sausage is part meat market, part general store and part sausage diner--and unfortunately, it feels like it hasn't quite decided what it wants to be in the middle of a very tourist-focused market. We stopped in specifically hoping to get a good German bratwurst. What we received was much more like a hot-dog-style sausage than what we would consider a traditional bratwurst. It was good enough, but it definitely wasn't the authentic German brat we were hoping to find. It tasted more like something you might purchase prepackaged from a grocery-store deli than a fresh brat from a specialty sausage shop. We also ordered a pickle, which was actually very flavorful. It was served whole in a Ziploc bag, which was a little unexpected, and while the flavor was good, the skin was extremely tough. The biggest disappointment was the disconnect between the meat market and the food being served. With the sausages and other products displayed in the meat cases, based on their in store sign, we expected something fresh and house-made. Instead, our meal gave us the impression that many of the prepared ingredients may be purchased premade rather than being the same type of homemade products the market appears to specialize in. We sat at a quaint, little table where we were served after we ordered at the counter. The staff was nice but not overly friendly. There's an opportunity here to make the food counter a showcase for what's being sold in the butcher cases--fresh sausages cooking, great smells filling the store and customers getting to taste the products before taking some home. That would make the whole concept come together. As it is, I'm not sure Willi's has a firm grasp on its identity yet. I'd still stop in while exploring Frankenmuth to browse the store and meat market, but based on our experience, I'd skip eating here and look elsewhere for a good German
