Adorable old school drive in. Not the Sonic drive in style with car hops, but the small town diner with glass front that you pull in facing. Very charming. The staff was friendly and efficient and prices seemed good. We didn't order food but they have a pretty big menu, even though I was expecting just ice cream they do offer a lot of food items (well beyond burgers). Small quaint dining room as you enter, too, for those who want to sit and have a full meal. I had a butterscotch sundae and it came in a Styrofoam cup (like you drink from) and the ice cream was delicious and had me telling my husband "I feel like I got this out of a time machine, it's so different!" (part of that is probably just the vibe of Dairy Hut), however the butterscotch topping didn't have a whole lot of flavor and was just sickeningly sweet...honestly kind of nauseating and I'm a sweets fan to the core. That is the main thing that took my rating from 4 stars down to 3. I would get something else next time but I'd definitely stop again if driving past Dairy Hut.

Good selection. Food is well prepared. Prices are decent and they've been here forever. They must do something right.

I returned for their buffet, certain they would redeem themselves. Well, there was no BBQ on the buffet - no ribs, no brisket, no pulled pork. Instead, there was meatloaf, Cajun fish, fried chicken, catfish nuggets, hamburger steak, overcooked dry pork chops & enchiladas. No BBQ! The fried chicken was good & my niece said the catfish nuggets were great. I see no reason to drive 40 miles from home again for their Sunday buffet. Sorry, Mugsy! I've really enjoyed your BBQ in the past.

Spied Mugsy's on the internet as I was searching for new restaraunts to journey to on the East side…read moreof i35 since recently moving to Guthrie. I arrived and was put off a little by the sign that said it was cash only, their card reader was down. This sort of stuff drives me crazy because I am usually going to these type of restaurants as a destination and it took me an hour to get there. I didn't have cash, but luckily the gas station next door has an ATM. So let's just say I went into Mugsy's a little grumpy. I was seated in a nice booth in a clean dining room and placed my order. I ordered the 4M sandwich with onion rings, and I ordered a brisket philly cheesesteak as a to go order that I plan on eating for dinner. Ended up getting the peach fried pie as well. Food came quickly with large portions, especially for the price. The prices are very reasonable for bbq in this day and age. The owner came out and talked with each patron individually and was very welcoming. When he found out I came specifically to eat, he ran into the other room and brought me a couple of mugs and a to go menu to have if I was ever driving through. He was very nice and I enjoyed the conversation. Some might think he's trying a bit too hard, but I thought it was a nice touch. Especially since he seemed very genuine in his excitement to meet everyone. The 4 M sandwich is a 4 meat sandwich with brisket, Pulled pork, bologna, and sausage, on a very sturdy bun. The meat was all good, except the brisket was a little over done. But not really a big deal, as the sandwich was pretty good. I did NOT care for the BBQ sauce (and I LOVE sauce) as it seemed more like ketchup than BB sauce. It wasn't offensive, I just didn't like it as I felt it was rather bland. The onion rings were 10/10, my favorite style. The peach fried pie was probably the best fried pie I've ever had. So tasty. I will definitely be back to Mugsy's to try some other menu items and bring some of the family back some other time. Food 8/10 Service 8/10 Atmosphere and value 9/10

But where this restaurant shines is the food. Some of the best Mexican food I've had. If I ever go back through Yale OK I will stop back and have a bite here at Chavas

The logos once proudly announced the owner's name and services. Essential then, now ancient. Sad. We imagined what the town was like, when oil was life in Oklahoma. The buildings then housed businesses that employed many, put food on the table and provided opportunities for several generations. Yale, a living ghost town now. The massive building has a Spanish architectural hint and colors that suggests, Mexican food can be found here. It is now Chava's. It covers almost a city block. This place probably rocked in the old days. The parking lot being full of oilfield worker's trucks at noon during the week and family cars on the weekend. Now well worn, the neglected exterior matches the town; weeds, the structures only landscaping. Today, the entire declining population of Yale could probably fit in the building. The parking lot was vacant when we arrived. The restaurant survives, thanks to dedicated locals and with the help of hungry sports fans headed to Stillwater for the Saturday game. Currently its ranking as the "Best Mexican Food in Yale" is unchallenged. The food is served on hot plates, properly prepared and good portions. The service is friendly and the restaurant is relatively clean, but noticeably warn. We ordered one of the combination plates, a relleno and a beef enchilada. On their own both were good; but the red sauce on the meal didn't work. Closer in taste to marinara spaghetti sauce than anything Mexican. The salsa served with the chips was similar in taste. Very mild, oregano flavor prominent. When we ordered, the young man offered three options: white queso, yellow queso or red sauce. We asked about the red sauce. He described it as "like chili. Nope, it is more like spaghetti sauce. The beans and rice were good. Underneath the sauce, was a nice big, fresh poblano, filled with cheese, battered and fried, accompanied with a mildly seasoned, beef filled enchilada. My recommendation, order queso on anything that comes with a sauce. It will be very mild, but better than the spaghetti sauce. If you are a person that finds a Tic Tac to be a little too spicy; you'll love the mild salsa.

The food was hot, flavorful, and constantly being refilled, so nothing sat out too long. There was a great variety to choose from, and every dish had bold flavor and was cooked just right. It's hard to find a buffet where the quality matches the quantity, but this place definitely delivered. For our first visit, it exceeded expectations in every way. We would rate it way over a 10 out of 10 and will absolutely be back!

I always have a hard time with Chinese food because I'm from Hawaii and so that's what I'm comparing it to. He suggested we go here. The serve lunch and dinner buffet, and they also allow you to buy to go. This is paid by the pound. The food is ok, the standard Chinese food. Beef broccoli, chicken and mushroom, sweet & sour chicken, pork loin, fried rice, steamed rice, soup, etc. So essentially the standard stuff. The food is usually hot, and they turn over the food pretty quickly, so it's usually fresh. I've never had any problems with the menu. The restaurant itself is pretty sizable, so there are booths as well as tables to sit at. The hostess is friendly and remembers your face when you come in. (That's a big deal to me) When we went in my younger son wasn't with us, and she noticed and asked after him. So, it means she pays attention! They do offer soda, but I can't remember if it's included with the cost for the buffet. They do have an adult price, and a child's price. We don't go there a ton, but the customer service is always great. They ensure your drinks are filled and they clear your dirty plates pretty quick as well. So, check it out. I think it's better than the Chinese place that's in Stillwater! No I'm not talking about Golden Dragon, or the place that's in the old red lobster.

Brisket Pulled Pork Smoked Turkey Pork Ribs Hot Links and finally... Smoked Baloney. Potato Salad, White Mac and Cheese, Texas Toast, Pickle and Onion. Everything was smoked perfectly - even the baloney, which surprised both of us eating there - and absolutely tender. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. I did not see either a Corn Bread or a Biscuit choice which I would have chosen, but took the usual's just to see how they're done at Rustlers. I'm not a banana for dessert fan, that is, until my dinner guest forced me to have some of Rustlers Banana Pudding. I am now a rabid fan of banana's for dessert. Yes, it's that good. Don't keep whistling down the highway at 80+MPH trying to get somewhere faster than you should. Slow down, stop in, and get some well made BBQ. Sure, you're going to have the "meat sweats" once you've had your fill, but it's all well worth it in the end.
