I hate writing a bad review. I really do . We sat in a really really long line . My 12 year old was hungry so I decided to get DQ. This is what he was given

Ordered a large two-layer cake for a birthday 2 days before I needed it. The gentleman took the order, assured me it was made just like the picture on the large lobby display. It was not. There was no chocolat soft serve at all even though they told me it would be 1/2 chocolate soft serve on the bottom, have a crunchy chocolate middle and the top 1/2 would be vanilla soft serve. I would not have purchased the cake at all if I knew it was only vanilla. I specified either pink or yellow icing and that "Happy Birthday Linda" be written on it. It was scheduled to be picked up after 2 PM in 2 days. When I picked up the cake, the counter server couldn't find the cake and took a long time to tell me. She said it hadn't been make but I could get a one-week old cake from the public freezer but it could not say "Happy Birthdday". When I said I'd rather a refund, she spent a long time in the back to finally say they had a spare with yellow trim I could have but no one there had the skill to write "happy birthday" on it. I even offered to that myself but her "supervisor" told her they could not allow it. Bottom line - huge disappointment. It looked like awful, embarrassed me with guests at the party and I will be returning it. I'll let readers know how that goes.

Staff is super friendly and the rest is as expected. So, thanks to the staff, this place is worth the star rating. Cheers

This Dairy Queen stopped making chocolate ice because the person retired. Avoid if you want chocolate ice cream.

Always a mainstay. Very good. I'd give 5 stars if the had wifi and senior discounts like their Elgin counterpart.

Could use a little help noticing customers in the lobby! I would post more than 1 start if I could get someone to take my order...

This place is not like any other DQ. It's not clean or friendly. What more info would you need?

TLDR: Good pizza at reasonable prices but the wait time is unreasonably long…read more Pretty solid pizza here. Fully customizable. I built my own white pizza with garlic butter herb sauce, fresh mozz, mushrooms, and Italian sausage. It was pretty tasty. I was STARVING so maybe that amplified the flavor. This brings me to my next point... Pizza takes FOREVER. I clocked it and it was a full hour from the moment we ordered. This was particularly unpleasant because I was waiting in the car with my two bored and hungry toddlers. If you have kids, you get it. Not ideal. By the way, we tried to call ahead and no one picked up the phone (we tried a couple times). I should also add that the prices are very reasonable here. The kids menu pizzas are very cheap and more than enough food to fill them up.

Who knew Bastrop, Texas, would have some of the best pizza and pasta I've had in a long time?…read more I'm in town for a six-week work assignment and decided to try Bastiano's for takeout. All I can say is wow. I ordered the creamy garlic pasta with chicken, spinach, bacon, and onions, along with a supreme pizza, and both were outstanding. The pasta was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without being overly heavy. The chicken was tender, the bacon added the perfect savory bite, and the spinach and onions balanced everything beautifully. Then there was the pizza. This wasn't one of those pizzas where you have to hunt for toppings. Every slice was loaded with pepperoni, ham, sausage, olives, mushrooms, and vegetables. The crust had a great texture, the cheese was perfectly melted, and every bite was packed with flavor. One of the best parts is the value. The portions were generous enough that this takeout order will easily feed me for several days, which makes the quality even more impressive. As someone who wasn't expecting to discover amazing Italian food in Bastrop, Bastiano's was a pleasant surprise. If you're local or just passing through town, do yourself a favor and give them a try. I'll definitely be ordering again before my assignment is over.

I genuinely cannot believe I've never written a review for Paw-Paw's Catfish House because we have…read morebeen coming here for YEARS and I love this place so much. There are restaurants you try once because they're trendy... and then there are places like Paw-Paw's -- the kind that become part of your family's story over time. From the fried deviled eggs, to the seafood platters, to the chicken tenders, to the genuinely wonderful staff, there just isn't a better spot for this kind of old-school comfort food experience. And the staff? Always SO friendly and welcoming. Every single time we come in, it feels less like "customer service" and more like old friends excited you finally stopped by so they can catch up with you awhile. That kind of warmth cannot be faked, and it makes such a difference. Now let's discuss these fried deviled eggs. Because respectfully... who allowed them to be this good? You think deviled eggs have reached their final form and then Paw-Paw's comes in like, "Hold my beer." Crispy, crunchy, creamy, flavorful perfection. We start most meals with them because not ordering them would simply be poor decision making at this point. I usually get the chicken tender basket and LISTEN -- these aren't sad little freezer tenders pretending to be a meal. These tenders are literally as big as my hand. Juicy, tender, flavorful, cooked perfectly every time. My adult kids are obsessed with the seafood platter: three pieces of fried catfish and three jumbo fried shrimp with fries, pinto beans, slaw, hushpuppies, and homemade tartar or cocktail sauce. And when I say the catfish tastes CLEAN, my fellow seafood people will understand exactly what I mean. No muddy taste, no weirdness -- just fresh, crispy, perfectly fried fish done right. And the portions? Paw-Paw did NOT come to play. Nobody is leaving hungry unless that was a personal choice. What I love most, though, is the feeling of the place. The small-town care. The heart that clearly goes into the food. The old-school comfort vibe that feels increasingly rare these days. Places like this matter. And Paw-Paw's is absolutely one of them.
