I order a Reese's Blizzard cake with Happy Birthday on it, online. $44.00 Dairy Queen gave me a time it would be ready, and it wasn't. No big deal. The manager grabbed a blizzard cake from the freezer in front. It was marked $32.00. She asked if I wanted writing on it. I said yes. She charged me $10.00 to put Happy Birthday on the cake. Super disappointed got a heath Carmel brownie cupfection that was definitely not worth $7. It barely had any ice cream. The cup was about 1/4 of the way full with ice cream, 1 small piece of brownie, on the better side it had a lot of heath chips. I shoulda just got a cone. read more

Blonde haired girl manager needs to learn some customer service. My son's 11 and 7 year old went in with their own hard earned money and was excited to buy their own blizzards. He payed on his own and chose to tip with his money. When his order came up the lady yelled order 199 he didn't know what number he was (there was also no one there except for us) she then screamed at him and said are you 199 he said I don't know Yeah I guess it's two blizzards. She seemed completely annoyed and put off. I said hey lady he paid with his own money and tipped you with his own money you don't have to be so rude. He didn't have to tip you and at this point I don't know why he did.. I'm just saying I don't like it. If fast food has the tip option and someone chooses to tip you had better start being respectful. You don't treat people especially little kids like that if you're working for extra tips. Firstly, this place does not have half of the stuff that they display on the menu (or they do and the worker was just too lazy to make it). My husband ordered a chicken strip basket and an orange Julius via the drive through, the woman responded to him saying "I don't know what your talking about, we don't have any of that". Then continued to treat him like he was stupid when he said "um okay" and ordered something else. This woman should not have a job in the food service industry if she thinks it's acceptable to treat people that way. On our way back home, and no time to stop to eat somewhere for a nice lunch. This location is close to the exit and entering the freeway. First time eating at this location. Lunch crowd, so three cars in front of me. Just ordered the stand cheeseburgers and a large chocolate shake. Pricing was good, just under $20.. Exceeded my expectations for the service and how it was packaged.. asked for ketchup and I got 5. All the napkins and straws were also in the bag. Decided to eat in the car under a nice shady tree.. and loved the little box that the fries came in! The shake was better than most places too! Glad we stopped here. Service was extremely slow. I understand that everyone is short staffed, but I watched as employees were standing and doing nothing. Just went to Dairy Queen for a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and yumm.. almost worth the terrible customer service and fact that clearly these people can not count. The 4 piece chicken strips meal only had 2 tiny chunks of chicken a few fries, toast and the wrong sauce. But rather than to offer a complimentary replacement meal with a free coupon for a later visit. I was told to bring the meal back to prove it or I could drive back and get 2 pieces of chicken strips. The whole point of "my dinner sucks" because we chose Dairy Queen was lost in the lack of Good Customer Service and thinking of the customer first! Table was dirty. I asked to have it cleaned. Counter person used soaking wet towel, and wiped it. Walked away leaving table soaked with water. Brought me wrong order twice. I told server twice it was wrong order. He told me it was the correct order. I showed him receipt. He said, "Oh." I knew the server wasn't mentally okay by his words and actions, so I let it go and ate a cold burger, and onion rings...horrible! Felt bad for server, but not for management. So this Dairy Queen is very inconsistant. Don't expect lots of toppings in your blizzard. Sometimes they're good but most days they're not. Their customer service isn't great but I guess that's normal these days. I've been there the past few days and this place has sucked so bad I'd rather drive all the way to minden for my Dairy Queen. They switched the ranch so now it tastes like processed fake everything, pretzels are always hard not only that but I barley get anything in my dipping cup of queso to make the pretzels just a little bit better. The food is always cold the chicken tenders the fries, Basiclly everything that's made in the oil because it sits there all day until there gone then they make new ones. The cashier was also very rude what happened to the old team in 2021 and in 2022 this place has really Gone down hill in the past year. read more

When you need some good ice cream, food, and cakes this is one of our favorite spots. The ice cream is always good especially the Blizzards. I personally like the New York Cheesecake blizzard. My family loves the oreo and reese blizzard. They have good burgers and we come here for the kids ice cream cakes. They arent badly priced either. We don't have a DQ in Reno so when I saw one here we went in for a nostalgic experience. The place was very clean. Cakes and treats freezer full. Modern enough that I wonder if they got a facelift/remodel inside. Food was hot fresh, we ordered the chicken strips and fry rings basket. Had the country gravy dip and the spicy queso dip. Never had the spicy queso dip. It was soooo good! As it cools some it even gets stringy a little like you see in commercials. Staff was nice, service was quick and music just the right level. Finished off with blizzards as good as we remembered. If you're in Carson give this place a try! Oh and it was comfortably cool not freezing cool. Prices comparable to other fast food maybe a little less. $10 for 4 strips, toast, fries, onion rings, and two good sized dips. Staff there is VERY unprofessional, my co worker and i went for our midday snack and they gave us our order with plastic in it and got upset because we requested a new one, on-top of that and kept switching staff to take care of us. This was all through the drive thru. The girl at the window, one of the younger boys and another girl all kept looking through the window and giving us looks like we were an inconvenience. Ordered a burger no tomato, got it with tomato. When I told the host and showed him the manager took the burger handed it to the cook and with out even trying to hide, took the tomato off the burger and tried to give it back to me. Being as I have a current food managers card I know this is against the health code. So if ya send something back here make sure you ask them to remake or ya get what ya get. read more

Today is Veteran's Day. I got an email saying Dairy Queen was honoring veterans today and veterans could get a free Blizzard. Here's how the ad read: "This Veterans Day, November 11th, your local DQ® listed below is saying thank you to all active or retired military members with a free medium BLIZZARD® Treat." The requirements read as follows: "*Must be in uniform or bring valid proof of service at participating U.S. locations." I show up with my driver's license which clearly states in the lower right hand corner that I am a veteran. I had to take my DD-214 to the DMV to get this endorsement on my license. Many local stores accept this as proof that I AM a veteran. Lowes, Home Depot, and Verizon give us discounts every day. Many local restaurants today are offering free meals to veterans. l only have to show my 'veteran endorsed driver's license' at any of these establishments to get my discount. But not at Dairy Queen. The person at the counter specifically stated that "we do not accept driver's licenses". I said, "Even though I had to show my DD-214 to the DMV to get this on my license, you don't accept it"? He said he was sorry. I said NOTHING and walked out. It looks to me like Dairy Queen talks the talk, but in the end, is unwilling to walk the walk. I don't personally know any vets that carry their DD-214's with them. So if I wanted my free Veteran's Day Blizzard I would have to drive back home, go into our safe where important papers are kept, get my DD-214 out, and drive back to Dairy Queen. NOT HAPPENING. First off the customer service at this DQ is terrible. It's pretty disappointing when you order 2 blizzards from this place on door dash, end up paying 20$, and the blizzards don't even have barely anything in them. Sadly this isn't the first time I've ordered doordash from this DQ and it always is like this! This place is so stingy with the toppings it's ridiculous for how expensive the food is. Little bitty sign you can barely read on the front door saying they're going to charge you a fee to use a card. Then a huge sign at the register that says you HAVE to use a card unless you have exact change. If you're going to charge a fee to use your preferred method of payment that sign should be big and obvious too. read more

If you are looking for a great place to sit in the AC and eat lunch. This is not the spot. The AC isn't working I don't think because it's 97 outside and it's hotter in there than it is outside! They also messed up our order, which is fine it's fast food I don't expect much. As we were leaving the health board was showing up so maybe they will fix the AC.
