Why are you so rude? I asked if I could get the saucers parmesean/garlic sauce on the side and was told "no". It made me chuckle to myself because it was so blunt but ok. I guess those chickens have to be sauced to get that flavor so I ended up with plain chicken tender basket. The guy was just continually blunt and disinterested in his job or something so it just came off as rude but whatever, that I can deal with. I got home and the first thing I went to eat was the bread and it was burnt on the bottom which I didn't realize until I took a bite but, with that bite I also got a brown curly hair and that was it for me. Horrible service!!! I ordered through app and i ask where is my order the worker tells me they didn't get it but they will make it. We've ordered pick up a few times and they always got it right. It's usually ready before you can even get there. Great choices, always fresh! Make sure you join the reward program, the points add up fast if you add the family size take out box of frozen treats (DILLY BARS)! This location is always lacking. Often out of ingredients, very lite on the ingredients/toppings, often tastes stale, and no consistency in proportion sizes and preparation. Service ranges from friendly to not. There are better Dairy Queen locations out there. Sadly this is not one of them. read more

The young girl who took my order was friendly and competent. I heard an older customer who had purchased two cups of ice cream commented that they charged them $2 for a cup so they could have a glass of water. First I was as astonished as the couple that they would charge $2 for a size small said cup for water, use smaller clear plastic cups and don't charge people. After a brief exchange between the couple and I about the cost of the cup I chose a table in the dining area to wait for my order. After reaching my table I heard what I believe was a manager say, quite loudly to another employee, "if you don't want to pay $2 for a cup of water don't order it". Unbelievably bad customer service, the couple wasn't blaming any employee just the store policy. Just crazy how rude young people can be and still be in a management position. The restaurant was not very clean nor were the bathrooms. The food, second biggest disappointment - my burger tasted like it had been microwaved (cooked not heated)...very very dissatisfied. Once we got back to say something about my in laws order, the owner or manager whoever he was, was incredibly rude to my mother in law saying she should've checked the order before she left. I specifically asked how the BBQ chicken strips were... I get my order and 10 miles down the road, I decide I was going to grab a fry... No BBQ sauce on the dry nasty chicken strips. Used the drive thru 08/03/23, girl handling the order was very nice. Confirmed what was wanted on both blizzards twice and we both acknowledged the order. Person in line in front of me had to have his order fixed. Both Blizzard's were wrong, close, but wrong. It is soft serve so it doesn't taste bad. There is a very bad pot hole at the exit of the drive up window that has been mentioned to the staff before, numerous months ago and impossible for management not to acknowledge. This place is a Sewer of a so called ice cream shop ! First of all it has less then 5 % fat content ; so it doesn't even qualify as ice cream. So anyway ; I went here for a Sundae today and what did I get ? Garbage. Strawberry topping on air pumped frozen skim milk ! and no whipped cream ; they said it doesn't come with it ! Duh ! I cane through 2 days ago originally and the ice cream was old smelt of spoiled milk when i called they said they cant do anything about it unless i bring it back i was already 20 minutes away and past my curfew so they said they cant do anything i told them go check your ice cream bc your gonna get more calls it's absolutely disgusting. The worst DQ I've ever gotten good from. Flamethrower burger was ordered with no lettuce, it had lettuce cores on it. It's also suppose to have two 1/4 pattys this one had 3 regular little burger pattys,that's no half pound. Other order was a 1/4 bacon cheeseburger, this one had no bacon on it and was made with one regular burger patty. Onion rings burnt. Then gave me a Med. March 13th 2012, was the first time I was ever in this Dairy Queen. The young lady was very friendly, we laughed as I have a tendancy to joke slightly with people. I love to see people smile, lots of other grouches out there. :D I am wheelchair bound at this time due to amputation. Restrooms have proven to be a challenge. Not only was this Restroom easy to get into but it was large and most of all CLEAN......... The management and staff deserve not only KUDOS but I would say a nice raise for all the effort they put into taking care of customers and being clean and friendly. it was a pleasure to get my blizzard and next time we are in the area we will stop by again. The Crystal River DQ is the closest DQ to our location. We have made several trips through their drive thru. Most of these trips have meant frustration for us. How? We ordered a chili dog combo meal. It wasn't until we arrived home (about a 20 minute or so drive for us) and opened up our order that we realized they took it upon themselves to add cheese. When we placed the order, it was not verified prior to the cashier giving us the total and told to pull around to the window. We 'assumed' she placed our order as we spoke it to her via the intercom at the drive-thru. Yes, it was our fault for not checking the order before we pulled away from the window, but with a line behind us, we were more concerned with not holding other folks up. Another time we received supposedly freshly cooked food, yet the onion rings and fries were barely warm. On another trip, we ordered four blizzards. Now, we've been eating blizzards for several decades and have been to multiple DQs across our great nation, so we know what a good blizzard is supposed to be like. The blizzards we received from the Crystal River DQ were already crystalizing. This means that someone thought it a good idea to pre-make the blizzards and shove them into a freezer to await a customer who would order that particular kind of blizzard. Also the blizzards were all flattened on top as if someone had packed a cup with a blizzard mixture and then smoothed it over with a knife or spatula before putting it into the freezer. Blizzards are supposed to be creamy and look as if they have just been removed from the mixer. If management or other employee thinks they are saving time by pre-making blizzards, trust me, you are not. What you are doing is helping steer your clientele to another restaurant. To get a good blizzard, we would happily wait the two or three extra minutes it takes to make them up fresh. Okay, I realize that some of this may seem petty if each of the 'issues' above were taken singly, but it seems as if each time we have gone, there's something new to add to the list. When we go out for a quick bite, we try to choose places that will at least not add to our stress. This DQ is not it! The next time we get a hankering for something from DQ, we will drive the extra miles and go to the Brooksville DQ. They have stellar customer service and better prepared foods for their customers. AND they give an appropriate number of straws and napkins with our freshly prepared foods. read more

I do not know who is the owner of the DQ in Crystal River. The two female employees working there last week were not wearing a mask or gloves while serving food at the drive through. When asked why they weren't using them, the answer was they use them while preparing certain types of food. Really! They basically prepare fast food and ice cream. Also I was told that if I wanted to be safe, then I should stay home. They should put that on their marquis outside just to see if it works to increase their business. Third time this month that I came in around 8 pm and all the chairs in the restaurant were up on the table like they were closed. I ordered and like times in the past my wife and I had to take our chairs off the top of the table to be able to sit down and eat. First of all, my boyfriend and I ordered a number two and a four piece chicken strip basket. Well, they told us the food would be brought out to us. After approximately 16 minutes, I approached the front counter and inquired about the status of my food. I stood there for almost 3 minutes while the employees continued to glance at me without saying anything. Once I was finally got noticed, the employee then told me they forgot about it and it had been sitting up there for "who knows how long." So the employee stated "we will reheat your food since it has been sitting so long." Excuse me? Reheat? No dude, you can remake it while you're at it. We only get ice cream (not the food) and we usually get "take away." So I can't review the facilities, or the meals, but if you enjoy a DQ ice cream treat, this is a great place. I have been impressed by the efficiency and patience of the crew. Even during yesterday's "Free Ice Cream Day" with lines out the door and cars wrapped around the building, the staff was fast and courteous. They zip around the counter. If there is a problem with an order (The person ahead of me got a cheeseburger and not a hamburger), they fix the problem quickly and apologize. read more
