It's our first time visiting Sonic Drive In since it reopened. We use to love the Ambiance of Sonic because it was like a throw back to the times of the Old Fashioned Drive Through Diners. The Sonic employees even wore roller skates to deliver your food on a tray that hooked on the driver's side window. We decided to order at one of the parking/serving places instead of just going through the Drive Through. Just like previously you have a menu on the driver's side with an intercom that you order your food and drinks and talk to the personnel. I find this way of ordering nice if the intercom works well - however we did have some static while speaking to an employee. Sonic offers a "Happy Hour " deal everyday from 2 - 4 pm that makes your drinks half price. Sonic has a vast list of many different drinks for everyone to enjoy. We ordered their Route 44 drinks which are 44 ounces of your choice of beverage. I love their Coke Zero with either fresh lemons or limes. So good and a great value. We also ordered a snack of their Jumbo pack of Popcorn Chicken to go with our drinks. This was a decent size portion of chicken bites that had a crunchy coating tasting very similar to Chicken Fried Chicken. They had a very nice peppery taste and crunch to them. They came with a sauce - we ordered Ranch but when they delivered our order we received Sonic's Signature Sauce. It was okay - I felt it was a mixture of Ranch and BBQ sauce mixed. I also felt they were a little pricey for the amount - about $8. We did really enjoy our snack and our drinks, service was friendly and prompt but seemed to be just a couple of people cooking and serving everyone. We will definitely be back during happy hour again to try new things on the menu - their Chili dogs look scrumptious! read more

Well, here we are again. Sitting outside of Sonic Crystal River for the 2nd time with the worst service ever. No wonder they've closed - not once, but twice apparently. The Manager is incredibly rude and it seems as though these young girls are afraid of him. The woman before us ordered after we had to stop someone to help us since no one was answering the drive-thru so we all came up to the picnic tables. When no one answered here, we stopped her and she said the manager was on the headset and was only taking the orders of people in the car stalls. Since we've been sitting here - one woman ordered pretzels with cheese and when they brought it out she looked in the bag and asked where the cheese was. "We're out of cheese right now." Another car is frustrated because the credit card swipe isn't working. Now two more families are out here trying to order because no one is answering the drive thru yet. Ridiculous. This manager needs to be fired. I realize good workers are hard to find, but a bad manager will get a restaurant closed down in a hot minute. Whoever is 'managing' this guy needs to send his family here and just listen to the stories...and I sure hope he listens. Still waiting for a burger and corn dog. Now, Richard, the manager, (who says he's the "top guy here") and one other guy who were both obviously high, just gave about 6 excuses after we've been out here for over 20 mins at a fast food joint. The store front looks fresh and new so I pulled in to try it out. The ordering signs in the stalls are new so I just pushed the red button and ordered a number 4. From the time I pushed the button I received my order in 4 minutes 34 seconds. My food was hot fresh and flavorful. read more

I'm so confused as to why Sonic has such low ratings, we came to this Sonic a handful of times and each time has been great. We love the old-timey feel of a drive up; and the servers there are always helpful and friendly. As someone who has been around the world I really appreciate good service. Sonic has one of the best burgers around, hands-down. I always add jalapenos on my burgers and I love that they have that option. My huband has tried their chicken sandwich, chili dog, and burger and it's all very tasty. I'd recommend this location for a friendly, no frills Sonic experience and delicious burgers. read more

Paid for order on the mobile app they come out 10 minutes later to tell me they do not have most of my order and that they can't refund me so they want me to leave without my items or my money and in order to get my money back I would have to call Sonics corporate office. I spoke with someone who said he was the store manager which I highly doubt, I informed him it was Theft for me not to get my items or my money back and he told me it wasn't when I asked for his name he would not give me his name. Avoid this place at all cost if you don't want to be stolen from. Will be contacting corporate for sure but don't have much hope they will do anything about their rude employees or the theft. read more

To say im angry is an understatment this sonic location literally stole from me. I ordered on the app they came out and said they didnt have what i ordered and said they couldnt give me my money back i would have to call corporate if i wanted my money back. My daughter went to this sonic, they told her the card reader wasn't working after she gave them her card, so they asked her to pay cash, so she did give them cash and that evening the sonic charge showed up on our debit card. I have stopped in 3 different times to resolve this issue. But no one has been able to help me. They apparently don't have a working phone number that they share with the public, so I will keep going there until they refund me. NEVER GO TO THIS SONIC! On Sunday, 4 Sept. 2022 we decided to go to the Crystal River Sonic for hot dogs. I placed the order online at 5:04 p.m. and we arrived 5 min. early. Punched the red button to let them know we were there. It was 5:30 p.m. So far, so good. Then the miedra hit the fan. A server came out to let us know that "they had run out of onion rings." Bear in mind that this is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. And they ran out of onion rings???? Whoever is doing their logistics, isn't doing a good job. Hubby asked for a refund. BUT because I did the order online, they "can't refund it." Suggested that they could substitute for the onion rings. Ok, so we said Mozzarella sticks. Fifteen minutes later, no sticks. Punched the button again. Asked where they were. Person said they had not been put on. Hubby asked to speak to the manager. A girl (looking like she was 16 - yeah, I know they all look young!) came out and hubby asked if she was the manger. No, she was the interim manager, the regular wasn't there. She knew what the problem was and offered to make the Mozzarella sticks. By now, it's another 15 min. We said no, just refund the $7.18. "No, we can't do that because you ordered online. You have to go online." Asked how to do that, she didn't know and, then asked to see our receipt. Showed it and she said to call the phone number on there. Told her we didn't want to wait another 15 (which is now 1/2 hr). And we would leave. While there hubby texted the phone number, which was the co-manager's on the receipt, explaining the issue. On the drive home, got a call from that number and the co-manager said that he wanted us to know that he wasn't the co-manager any more and didn't know why the number and his name was still on the receipt. He had left more than a month ago. He did apologize and said he would forward the text to the real manager. So, no refund and no resolution. We'll see if the manager calls. First, I like Sonic in general and think they can have some of the best burgers you can get, sometimes. We have been there 4 times since it reopened. The first two were great, 5 star. Then I ordered from the app and got a cold, greasy burger. It was not good but I was hungry and choked it down. So today I give it another shot. I ordered from the app again but I did it from the Sonic parking lot to see how long it would take. So I order, drive to the other side of the lot, stall 12, and it took maybe 45-50 seconds from the time the order went in. The order was simple, 1 burger, 1 med fries. I watched people come and go with their orders and finally I got tired of waiting and got out of the car. There is no public access so I just waited and after maybe 10 min, my food comes out. Cold burger and cold fries. Don't know if I will be going back anymore. read more
