This was also on a day that was about 25 degrees, but it didn't make it less good. The price is also not bad. Before finishing the review I kind of forgot and it's been a couple weeks, I returned - yet again in mid-winter during bad snow even, and it was still delicious and didn't even give me brainfreeze or anything. It's even better with mix-ins - though I will say they were rather lazy about doing said mixing in, more like "rolled two times" but it was still tasty. However, because that's a big part of what the place is all about, along with them being rather slow even when it's not too busy, AND them giving one or two small "mix in" pieces/things (i.e. 3 little crumbly bits of cake) they still charge it as a full mix-in if you add something like sprinkles. Hell, sprinkles should be free to begin with, but when you're going to just give me 0.02 cents of "cake" I shouldn't be charged a buck more. They have lots of different Ellsworth cheese products, along with a bunch of other Wisconsin made items. We were on our way home from Thanksgiving in Minneapolis. The snow was coming down, and we decided to take a break and grab some lunch. Perfect timing to stop in at the creamery and try one of their famous grilled cheese curd sandwiches. It was noon and a few other people had the same idea. The several staff members we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. I got the sandwich and my wife got the Hot Chicken Tortilla soup. Both were very good. The bread was a thicker Texas toast and nicely grilled. The cheese curds had been melted, but you could still make out the curd shapes. There was a small amount of BBQ sauce that gave it a bit of a tangy flavor. I would have liked a bit more of that. Next time, I would like to get there earlier to check out the actual curd and cheese making process.

They carry my favorite brand of canned bloody Mary's, from Supper Club. I can't seem to find it anywhere else so every time I drive through Wisconsin, I am stopping here. I pick up the bloody Marys and a few other cheesy treats .
