It was really good ice cream!! Downtown Eau Claire has really taken off and offers an opportunity to experience nature while enjoying your ice cream. It's been a few years since I've been back to Eau Claire. This place offered a great selection of flavors, I tried one of the chocolate flavors and also the blue gold cake flavor 10/10 for me. If your in town or just wanting some good ice cream please check this place out.

So, I was in town for three nights and I stopped here twice... I stopped here after my dinner at The District and ordered a scoop of Heath Supreme. It was very good. Creamy with a little bit of heath pieces in it. Then I decided to go for one of their "fall flavors" and ordered the Caramel Apple Pie. This one was a cinnamon ice cream with caramel swirled in and a little bit of apple in it. I wish there had been more apple pieces in it but that's not too big of a deal. It also helps that a block away, they have a plaza that looks out on a river.

I recently moved to Eau Claire this summer and NEEDED an ice cream shop that could fill my sweets cravings (which I have often). And Olson's has not disappointed one bit! They have a variety of flavors to choose from and even roll out new ones for different seasons (like Caramel Apple Pie for the fall!) My girlfriend and I just tried the brownie sundae thanks to the help of Mary Kate & Kinzie (amazing & friendly staff!) and it was worth every penny. I also love the fact that you can swap the vanilla scoops for 3 scoops of your choice. Just make sure you choose wisely ;) Great for students, families, or just a hungry 29 year old fitness trainer like me.

Eau Claire,Wi. I get that a lot of people really like this kind of crap. Not my thing though. Every flavor is a sugar express to a hypoglycemic reaction. If the so called ice cream is not enough sugar, they dump cookies and brownies and other assorted sweetness enhancers. Still not enough sugar? Try adding some syrup!! Basic vanilla had a fair creamy texture, but not like a premium ice cream. No vanilla taste, just sugar. The Mackinac had some kind of fudge cookie in it, lots of sweetness plus. The other flavors were more of the same. When I come to this music festival(Blue Ox),I usually indulge in ice cream every day. Thank you Olsons for making sure once was enough.

The lemon poppy seed ice cream was fantastic! They also make their own popcorn. I tried the caramel & cheddar popcorn. They do have a deli as well. However, I believe the shop is only selling waffles, ice cream, & popcorn as of right now. I paid a little over $8 for a waffle cone with a generous scoop of ice cream, & a small bag of popcorn. I thought the price was great for the quality. I will definitely visit again next time I visit Eau Claire.

This is a homemade ice cream spot in downtown EC. They had so many menu options, something for everyone. A great way to stay refreshed during the hot summer months. There is a greatly large dining room inside, great for large groups and families too.

While Ramones has tasty waffle cones, Olson's ice cream creaminess and flavor is superior to Ramones.

I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a little line of people ahead of me but it moved pretty quickly! Interior-wise, there isn't a ton of space for seating but luckily, there are plenty of tables/chairs at The Yard Container Park that's ~40 second walk from the bakery. I got the strawberry passionfruit cruffin, chocolate almond croissant, lavender vanilla shortbread, and a latte with sugar-free caramel. First off, I was very impressed with the variety of flavors that were displayed (i.e. passionfruit, rhubarb, cardamon, kimchi, etc.) All the baked goods I got were fantastic- especially the cruffin. I was initially hesitant to order it because I'm not a fan when the exterior doesn't have that flakey/crunchiness. But I'm glad I tried the one here because the texture was perfect. As for the filling, it was a good balance of sweet and tart. Same thing for the croissant. When I ate the cruffin, I already knew the croissant was about to hit- and it did. Perfectly flakey and had that beautiful crunchy exterior. They definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate/almond filling either! Personally, it was a little too much for me but that's just a me thing Last but not least, the lavender vanilla shortbread was wonderful. You can actually taste the lavender and they added a perfect amount of salt to bring the flavors out! Aside from the delightful pastries, the coffee was lovely and the staff were super friendly. Nostalgic Bean is definitely a Altoona gem!

Delicious drinks, done dirt cheap!…read more Situated in a hotel is Eau Claire Downtown Coffee. Or better known as ECDC. I saw this place when I first visited Eau Claire but never got the chance to go. I told my friends that when we hang out for vacation, my only one real request is hitting up ECDC at some point. Not because I love rock music but because I love the ingenuity of the name... and maybe because it reminds me of AC/DC every time I think about it. We popped in on our quiet day and were greeted with a really nice coffeehouse and some really nice baristas. I ordered my usual americano while Tim and Matt got drinks and a small baked good. We took a seat at one of the tables and just chatted and talked about our plans for the day. My americano was really good. I noticed americanos up around Eau Claire were more subtle and subdued versus back home, which by this point I was getting used to it. Tim and Matt both got a latte that sounded good to them and a baked good. Matt got a macaroon and Tim got a tiramisu cake square. I don't have much to say about this place that I haven't said a million times already. It was really nice inside. It had a very black theme to it. Maybe inspired by being somewhat named like this one hard rock band? There were some Star Wars meditating posters in one corner of the dining area. We didn't stay long before we slowly sauntered on to our next destination but I am 110% glad we stopped in and finally got to check it out. It was definitely worth the wait. Check it out sometime if you are in the area and need a break from the chain places (or try one of the other good places to get coffee in the area, which is what I suggest). Rock on and stay caffeinated.

A cozy end to a fantastic vacation…read more Tim described Racy D'lenes as what coffeehouses were like before they exploded everywhere. What he would consider to be a true coffeehouse. This got me excited as I do like a genuine cozy coffeehouse that does it's own thing and Racy was just that. We rolled in around 9am to get coffee and enjoy the quietness before Matt and I drove home. The sky was overcast with the constant threat of rain. The inside of Racy was nice and cozy. I got my americano, a giant chocolate chip cookie and a funny sticker for my final Eau Claire experience. Tim and Matt both got the Cadbury Egg latte. The place was a bit busy so we ended up sitting on this couch. We weren't crammed in there but 3 grown males put it to the test. I kid you not, this americano and cookie may have been the best thing I had during this whole trip. I know I'm easily excitable and tend to give high praise for most things but those two things were legit delicious. The cookie was so good that it made me wish I got a hot coffee just to dunk it in as that sounded divine. Both Matt and Tim said their latte were amazing and tasted just like a Cadbury egg. As we sat there and made small talk and went over the fun of the last few days, I couldn't help but look around and notice all the little things strewn about the place. There was a tank with a live turtle in it. There was a skeleton handing from the skeleton talking to someone (I couldn't see where the line went) via a can and string. The walls were painted or had stuff hanging up. This place must've been here for a long time now. Speaking of the cozy feeling, if this place had a fireplace, I would've fallen asleep so easily. I was already nodding off due to the weather and being perfectly content and settled in, it wouldn't have taken much more to slip off into a light snooze. Now that would've been a first for me, falling asleep in a coffeehouse... but if you've been here on a rainy day, you would understand. Eventually we made our way outside and were doing the midwestern goodbye when it started to sprinkle. That put a little pep in our step to get back to our cars and say goodbye to Eau Claire. Two things to keep in mind for visiting here is that its on the backside of The Nucleus and that since it's on the backside of a building, parking is very limited and you may need to park on the street if it's busy. Racy D'lenes... I will definitely be back.

They have tables available and also couches/chairs for a more comfortable experience! There are some parking spots available in the back or street parking is an option. Edited review based on business response: Based off of the Visit Eau Claire website for dog friendly places, I previously understood that Racy's was dog friendly. It indicated, "Racy D'lene's Coffee Lounge - You and the pup can enjoy a laid-back morning or afternoon at Racy's together. Their coffee and sandwiches and pastries will be a real treat for both you and your trusty four-legged sidekick." It appears that is not accurate and dogs are not allowed inside the building.
