Been craving a dipped cone since we left the Gulf Coast of MS. We stopped to satisfy our guilty pleasure. The voice on the drive through order box was less than pleasant. I felt like it was an imposition when I asked the male voice to repeat our order to make sure it was correct. When we pulled to the window I was handed quite possibly the poorest dipped cone I had ever ordered from DQ! When I asked if he would redid it due to the translucent chocolate covering he told me he couldn't redip the cone that that's how it is. My insistence that this was not up to the standard of every dipped cone I had in tre past he reluctantly refilled it and handed it back to me with a wad of napkins. The cone and wad of napkins was so haphazardly presented I was taken aback. Another young gentleman came and offered another handful of napkins and kept apologizing for my disappointment. If you feel the need to apologize for an item you are serving at a fast food place, perhaps the better part of valor would have been to simply retrieve poor cone and replace it with a proper one which it's proudly displayed on the menu. Perhaps the manager should retrain the employees on customer service and how to dip the chocolate dipped cones as other DQ's do so they are consistent across franchises. It may seem like a silly review to some, but yet only reason I go to DQ is specifically for the dipped cones! read more

Ordered banana split but they were out of bananas. We then ordered a chocolate sundae, and small ice cream cone. I'm glad we ordered a small cone. It would have been difficult to drank a large one. Picked up the order and parked the car. The ice cream cone was melted, and the chocolate sundae turned into milk. We did get one napkin for 2 people. The cone was so soft I had to dump the cream into the sundae. We then proceeded to drink it. We had ice cream milk everywhere. The service was fast, maybe too fast. The ice cream wasn't frozen yet. The shade trees we parked under were nice, and it was a nice cool day. Maybe they should not sale ice cream if the ice cream isn't frozen. read more

Worst fast food restaurant I've been to. Only ordered chicken tenders and fries and watched as the drive thru orders were filled continuously while I was the only customer actually in the store. No one was actually even working, all the employees were pacing around pretending to be busy while one employee did all the work. This place is horrible. We travel from Tennessee to Alabama frequently to visit our son who lives in Alabama. We were going to stop and use the restroom and get ice cream- the restrooms were so nasty and filthy, there was toilet paper all over the floors, poo stuck to the insides of the toilet and dried, and the restaurant itself smelled so bad that we just left. The manager was extremely rude and unsanitary. While on a road trip with my mother, I pulled up to the window to place my order. There was a gentleman (I use that term loosely in this case) taking our order over the speaker. The whole time he was extremely rude to both me and my mothers orders. He sighed often, made extremely rude and disgruntled remarks. At one point in the order he sighed and told me it was going to take extra time to make my order, even though everything was on the menu, and belittled my request. Upon driving up to the window I was greeted by a kind gentle women, whom clearly was not the man who took my order. As I looked inside the window I could see it was actually the manager on the headset taking orders from the window. As I looked around, everyone in the facility was wearing gloves, except this manager. One advice to this particular manager, Please sir, practice what you preach! Your team took the proper sanitary measures during these trying times, your team was nice and considerate. How come you are not? I do not like leaving bad reviews for restaurants as I know how hard the food industry works, but this manager is in need of coaching of his own. read more

This is a very busy place on a Sunday! None the less, the staff and food was amazing! We stood in line for five minutes or less, we sit and patiently waited on our meal for another five minutes. We ordered a flame burger, two chili cheese fries, a corn dog, a royal cheesecake blizzard, and an orange dream dipped cone. The food was fresh and hot, except for the ice cream of course! We stop here once a week at least. Chicken and fries deal is still worth the increase to $7. That includes a drink and small sundae. The older lady that brings the food is always so friendly and sweet. Would have given 5 stars but the music (coffee shop on XM radio?) is horrible. The most impressive Diary Queen or fast food experience in my memory. Carla/Karla was so very nice to us. She made suggestions, took our order, we got our lunch food fast, which she brought to us at our table, she waited and brought our blizzards to us after we ate so they wouldn't melt during our meal, and smiled the whole time. She even played a joke on us and turned our blizzards upside down at our table to make us think they would spill, which they didn't of course. Employee of the year award to Karla! We got better service here than at a lot of expensive restaurants. So glad we stopped here on our drive to North Carolina from Birmingham. Also, the restrooms were clean and stocked. read more

Clean restaurant, friendly service and the best cooked food ever! My sister and I took a trip from Maryville TN to Prattville, Al on October 25th and came back on the 29th. Traveling there and back we stopped at the Dairy Queen in Fort Payne, Al. I have to say, this was the cleanest, friendliest eating place I had been in in a long time. I also have to say (and I'm not a hamburger and fries person) the food was the best, cooked perfectly! That's the reason we just had to stop back by there on the way back home! Drive through- I ordered a Blizzard with peanut butter cups. I am vacation and that is my favorite ice cream so here we go. First they gave me the wrong ice cream and the guy snatches it from me. Then, he gives me the blizzard that turned out to be just chocolate soft serve and hoping I would just drive off without noticing but I decided to stay there and try it. I sat out there waiting for someone to come back to the window before I got fed up and called an employee, Josh there. He was nice and no issues. I did ask him if he wants the wrong ice cream back and he said no. Then, the manager with the sour face walks up and I am watching them telling her what happened and she just gave me a mean look and said she needs the other ice cream back for receipt reason and then throws hard , straight in the trash right there in front of me showing her attitude. I told her I should get it just because of how many mistakes they make. She walks away with a sour look on her face. NO APOLOGY from her or anything. Josh is the only one that knows how to do customer service. Finally they gave me the correct blizzard and it was horrible. We are worried now what they did to it so we didn't eat it. No apologies but a mean look from the manager. Don't try this place. HORRIBLE MANAGER and EMPLOYEES except Josh. He is the only one that seemed to care. read more

The had wonderful help from a seasoned veteran who made sure our food was delivered fresh and quickly. I stopped by on December 29th, which happens to be my husband's birthday. We were traveling to Tenn for the holiday weekend. We have lived in the Fort Payne area for 8 years.. Its a beautiful place to live.. I am a manager of a local manufacturing facility.. so I feel compelled to give an honest review of "Customer Service" This is the third time we have had issues at this facility.. is someone paying attention? My wife and I enjoy the occasional Blizzard and once again we had to endure an negative incident at this Dairy Queen.. We ordered 2 Blizzards at 5:23pm on Mother's Day.. we were customer number 39. After talking for 15 minutes we notice that 2 other couples had came in behind us and had their orders.. I walked to the front and asked if there was a possibility that our order might have been misplaced or we may have been forgotten? The girl at the counter told me it would be ready in a minute.. another 15 minutes past and my wife went to find what the problem was.. The girl informed her that they were very busy.. still same 2 customers in the store and really.. Why should I care how busy they were at this time.. I placed my order over a half hour before.. we got our order.. at 5:55pm my wife's was the size of the usual small Blizzard.. mine was the usual size container although there were only 3 tablespoons of ice cream.. someone was annoyed with our persistence.. when I tried to excuse myself in getting the older women's attention... she never slowed her pace as she continued past.. Was there an apology for their delays? None..!! Did they offer to give us a freebie for their mistake.. not even a glance much less returning the few dollars.. it takes the fun out of it.. I can't wait for family and friends come to visit so we can reminisce over a DQ ice cream cone.. NOT!! Unless there is one closer... maybe in Scottsboro? read more
