I will add to others' reviews that the "ice cream" at this location tasted of weak grayish ice milk and not at all 'creamy. If you want real ice cream, don't go to DQ. At about 1/2 to 1/3 the milk fat of ice cream, you'll be disappointed at the ice milk taste at this location at least. You're not a too far drive from an In-N-Out or Costco which serve great real soft serve ice cream. read more

New to the neighborhood and Finally a hot day so we decided to walk over and get some soft serve, but to my surprise the ice cream was icy, not creamy at all? My wife even went back in and complained and got another cone, but it wasn't much better! So disappointed, as I never had such bad soft serve from any Dairy Queen I've ever visited. I use to work on soft service ice creme machines and know that's it's not uncommon for places to set the machine to mix in more air to make the product last longer,,, hope this isn't the case here and this gets fixed quick as this place won't last long if it believes it can short change their customers! read more

We pulled up at the drive thru and the voice said in a gruff tone "It's going to be a long wait. There's only 2 of us working today. " We said ok, and waited the 10 minutes. Our order was short and sweet. A chocolate brownie blizzard and a chocolate malt shake. She was pleasant when we got to the pickup windows and gave us our order. No receipt and no turning over the blizzard. We left and headed south. As we started to eat/drink, i realized I didn't get the chocolate brownie blizzard that I ordered and paid for. It was some kind of cookie and peanut butter. Nothing I would eat! My husband said his chocolate malt tasted like there was no malt in it. But we were too far down 395 to turn around and go back. Honestly this place just needs new staff the teenagers obviously don't enjoy working there and the managers don't do anything to fix or change anything. They blast their music so loud and allow the teenagers to work in sweats and slippers. Which is a safety risk and so unprofessional. The place is just a disaster. read more

The girl did the stupid flip the cup upside down and flipped the damn thing straight onto the pavement. Then she looks at me with an oops face, and points down at the ground and says "Should I", and then starts making a new one. It was an innocent mistake, but that's not what did it for me. The drive thru window doesn't hide much and it is as dirty as all get out in there. They have this makeshift backporch clothespin holder sticking out for tips. Ever seen a tip jar at a drive through? Sadly I have to let them know how terrible the food served at this location on yelp as no one answered the phone when I called. Ordered a peanut butter malt with extra peanut butter, tasted like a vanilla shake. I added peanut butter to it when I got home and there was no malt flavor. Ordered chili dog. The hot dog had been heated in a microwave and was tough as shoe leather. Then bacon cheeseburger with no onions, yes it had onions , burger patties were so dried out, way over cooked and barely a dab of ketchup or mayonnaise. I am not sure who assisted us as nobody had nametags, nor did we receive a receipt that could have indicated who took our order. I watched a young man at the register spinning a rag on his fingers, accepting cash, slovenly dressed - then proceed to build a sundae. He wasn't wearing gloves, and he didn't wash his hands before handling food. I watched him grab a brownie out of the fridge with his bare hands and top off my sundae. When we advised him we were from Public Health and asked him if that was safe food handling practices - he said "that's kinda how we do it". Uh, NO - that is NOT how you do it. He even dropped a brownie on the floor and looked around to see if anyone saw him - only after realizing we were watching him did he toss it. He replaced the napkins in the dispenser after someone asked for one - and he did so with his rag-spinning grubby hands. My napkin came pre-soiled. The ice machine was empty, the coke had to be refreshed (I did not order either of these, so I only witnessed that). I was floored. Took a long time to even take my order. Once order was taken it took almost 7 minutes to get through the drivethru with 2 cars in it. Once we got our food it was wrong even though the drive thru person confirmed it at the speaker box. Not only was the food wrong but also disgusting. The tenders were gelatenous like and clearly very old. The fries were cold and stale, and the ranch that was given to us has chunks in it. Of all the Dairy Queens we've been to this by far is the worst. Apparently the owners won't carry Chocolate ice cream...so i ask why and they said it spoils, LOL...yet the person at the window says many ask for it. So normally if customers are requesting it, a good business person would meet the customers request, but not this location, maybe it's a write off location? Horrible experience. Only the drive-thru was open due to short staff. 30 minute wait in line. I can see people canceling orders and getting money back once they arrive at window. They gave my wife a melted sundae and handed me a vanilla cone since they were out of chocolate....assuming I'd just take the vanilla without questioning anything. We cancelled our order too. The owner of this location should be concerned if this is the normal way they service customers. The girl in the window blamed crazy customers for the long wait in-line. This location no longer provides chocolate soft serve. They haven't for months. Other locations have chocolate soft serve (the Carson City location) so I don't understand why they say their distributor doesn't carry it. Hubby and I have stopped in here twice in the last week. A majority of the workers here appear to be young. Think, high school or recently graduated. But, they're always nice, polite, and quick to serve us. The food takes a bit to come out, but it seriously tastes so good. Easily one of my favorite fast food burgers to date. We usually get the 1/3 lb meal deal for $6. You get a cheeseburger, fries, drink, and a sundae of your choice. For $1 more, you can upgrade to a small blizzard. Pretty good deal, in my opinion! It's more than enough to fill me up! The burger has a lot of flavor, the fries have always been fresh and tasty, and you can't go wrong with ice cream after. It's clean, and there have been a decent amount of people eating when we've gone in, so that's a good sign. I'm sure we will make the short drive down there again to enjoy some burgers soon! read more

I was holding out hope for this place. Today I wanted to get the kids out of the house because the smoke from the fire has kept us in. Drove up to DQ and they closed their dining room due to the air quality. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!! Anyway, drove across the street and gave my business to the Golden Arches. This has always been a family favorite for us. I grew up going here weekly with my father. My daughter and I have gone a few times and we tried to go tonight to get her a Birthday treat. We drove 15 minutes to get there only to find the store closed. All outside lights were off and a sign on the door read "lobby closed due to short staffing". I understand that, but the drive thru should have remained open at least. We arrived almost 3 hours prior to their closing time. Instead of someone coming to the door we were knocking on (to find out if they would serve us in the drive thru, the 4 teen boys working continued to slide around the store on cardboard boxes, messing around right in front of us. Extremely upset that this worked out this way, daughter was bummed she did not get her Birthday treat. Instead, we went across to McDonalds who at least served ice cream. Do better DQ. read more

You are probably wondering WTH I am doing in Minden Nevada huh? =P Anyways, my husband and I stopped by here for dinner last night. Minden is a quiet town of less then 3,000 people (mostly retired) but don't expect small town service. Most stores, restaurants, etc are employed with bored teenagers or older folks. Upon ordering at Dairy Queen, we were "helped" (if you can call it that) by a bored teenage kid who would rather be home I am sure. They did not have ham available for one of their sandwiches so we went without it. For some reason it took this kid a while to explain that to us.
