We DoorDashed Five Guys while visiting Tahoe. I'm a die-hard In-N-Out fan, and even though we have Five Guys back home in Sacramento, I had somehow never tried it. During our trip, the family was craving burgers, and Five Guys was offering a solid 2-for-$15 cheeseburger deal, so we decided to give it a shot. Visually, the cheeseburger looked great. The patty was thick and substantial--definitely much bigger than an In-N-Out patty--and the bun was soft and fresh. On paper (and in photos), this burger had a lot of promise. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't match the appearance. While the patty was juicy, it lacked seasoning and overall depth. I ordered mine with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo, but the mayo was barely noticeable both visually and taste-wise, which made the burger feel a bit dry and one-dimensional. Great price and generous portions, but ultimately lacking flavor and that "wow" factor. This one didn't convert me, and I wouldn't order it again. read more

Burgers are meh. The Marvel poster on the wall boasting that the burgers are better than In n Out isn't helping. They only give you food in to-go form despite having indoor dining. So you are wasting a bag, tin foil, containers, etc. Incredibly wasteful practice. read more

It's a messy burger, so I didn't take a photo, but I thoroughly enjoyed the little cheeseburger. I added as many toppings as possible, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and peppers and mushrooms, and a 1 steak sauce. For only$2 more for a second patty, I was definitely debating getting the double... But figured I'd be full without and didn't need the extra fat or calories. And I was right! We always go here when we are in town. I know they are everywhere, but for whatever reason (great staff), this one is just always amazing. Today was no exception to the fantastic visit. Two things happened that just made me love them more. The manager was the cashier today, and he was super nice. When I chose the toppings for the burger, he said, "You don't have to stop there. You can order as much as you like!" Then, when I ordered the milkshake, I told him it was for my husband, who never passes on a milkshake from 5 guys..he made a fantastic recommendation. Customer service here has always been amazing. Was helped out again due to a crap situation: Yesterday I placed a mobile order. This was during heavy snowfall. I got stuck on the highway trying to make a left turn, on my way to pick up the order, and I couldn't make it by closing time. There's no way to cancel the order on the app. I showed up today, explained the situation, and they covered the cost and provided todays meal without any hesitation. Very clean. There is little parking butt up against the sidewalk, but right behind the place is a parking garage with lots of space and shelter. I chose this place to eat as they looked new and I was sure they would be up to code.They didn't disappoint, they had a huge clean women's handicapped self contained bathroom. When you are wearing a poofy wedding dress you need this feature. I ordered the OREO milkshake and it was delicious. It did make me a bit cold, but it was worth every sip. I had the single burger and it was plenty with the milkshake and splitting the fries. We wait at one of there many open tables. Most take it to go. We had several delivery people hand over there packages and then place a order. It must be good if they could have stopped and ate at any of there stops. I'm sold. Went to Five Guys this evening for dinner and was extremely disappointed with the food I was served. The size of the burger patty was what I consider unacceptable, and the quality of the other ingredients was severely lacking. Very disappointed with the amount of money I spent and the underwhelming quality of the food. I usually enjoy coming to this restaurant fairly often, but today was a very poor experience. Got into town late because of a the Highway 50 rock slide and just barely squeezed in a large to go order right before closing. Sat on 50 like a sitting ducks for hours - needless to say once we got in town lots of restaurants were already closed and we were hungry. Got a bunch of burgers all built a little differently - and they were hot and delicious once we got them back to our rooms across the street. Five guys made the east coast family feel at home as it was started over there I think - its like our west coast In N Out. Not a big fan of that parking lot. There is this big post of the parking entrance that separates the entrance and exit. Makes it difficult if you've got a large truck. If your using the Diamond overflow lot you have to get around that post too - needs some rethinking. read more

We drove in the car for hours and by the time we were in Tahoe we were starving, we wanted something fast, good and that my kid would eat. So we stopped here, they weren't that busy, we all put in our orders, they came right away and it was really good.
