Watery bannana split!!!!

Really really bad! Not the Dairy Queen I remember! My son ordered a banana shake, and it was $7 for 12 oz size. The whipped cream is fake, and the ice cream was watery and tasteless! He went back and exchanged the shake for a banana split, yet he paid 3 more $$$ When we got home he was excited to eat his dessert, to our surprise it was more like a banana split soup! Gross watery mix of ice cream sauces and fake over sweetened cream!!!!!! Never again, will neither of us go back!!!

Drive thru

I ordered in the drive thru. Blizzards were great, especially since this is my first time trying DQ. Food was pretty soggy in grease but it was okay. I can't say more because I only went through the drive thru but this place was not great but not bad.

Went there and the young girl at the counter that helped us made the whole visit such a let down had a horrible attitude and we were very excited as it was our very first time there then when I asked for a to go bow having my hand reached out for it proceeds to throw it on the counter food was great but like I said her attitude made the visit not so great!

Large blizzard (choco dipped strawberry)
Katie M.

Initial reaction of the place: The guy at the front seems like he isn't interested in customer relations at all. Surprisingly, I think he is the manager or owner. He was tending to other "side work" instead of greeting and helping the customers. Not just us, but I witnessed it with other patrons. To be honest, we only came in because we had a coupon. It was buy one get one for 99 cents (any size Blizzard). I haven't had DQ in forever! I'm not sure if I have been to this location before. We ordered two large Blizzards. One was Choco Dipped Strawberry (as photographed). It was ok, but the guy described it as strawberry with chocolate chips. It was not! The "chips" were more like chocolate shavings, and the strawberry flavor was compote, into vanilla "ice cream". I put quotation marks because I'm sure it is more milk than cream. It was a decent flavor. However, without a coupon, two large blizzards would have been a total of about $16.00! That doesn't include anything else, NO FOOD or other treats. Just two blizzards!! The other blizzard we ordered was The Royal Ultimate Choco Brownie Blizzard. That comes with brownie pieces, choco chunks, and cocoa fudge. I asked nicely for the cocoa fudge on the side. He immediately said that is not possible. I call BS on that! I think he just didn't want to deal with the hassle. So, we still paid "an arm and a leg" for missing ingredients. Great! SMH/eye roll. The ambiance is nothing to write home about. It was clean, the television was on a little too loud. There was only one other customer in the restaurant to start and a few trickled in after. Yet, the employee still seemed too busy to bother greeting and asking if they needed help. He seemed to be tending to the "not-too-busy" drive-through, and wiping down the front counter. We let the one customer go ahead of us, then had to wait a while before he came back to take our order, even though we were clearly ready. Not a "Be right with you" or "Sorry for the wait". Final verdict: Won't be back. Other than maybe to use coupons. It is super expensive for just a little treat.

Mangers a punk everyone else is nice and helpful. I wish they would hire someone new to replace him he seems like a problem. Last time I got my food from him it was meager portions and he was harassing me about using my rewards account lol

A COCKROACH IN MY SODA.
Justine C.

Just went there literally less then 10 minutes ago. Got myself a wild Alaskan sandwich combo with a starry because no sprite. Anyways I was eating my food and drinking my soda minding my own business till I open the lid of my soda to eat the ice. There's a bug a cockroach literally still alive!!!!!! I knew I should have gotten something else but wthhhh gross. I went back to ask for a refund and some dude name GURDIP. Said he's not gonna refund me my meal but give me another soda.

The little itty box my chicken bites were in.

Had an overnight work trip that had me in Modesto so I was trying to find something fun to eat…read more After a bit of research I found this place. I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.

The seasoning on the fries and the Mac and cheese was also unique and kind of sweet.

It is always a great spot to invite colleagues, family, and friends. They offer a solid selection of burgers and craft beer, and the location is very convenient in downtown Modesto, within walking distance of the Brenden Theatre and nearby venues like the Gallo Center. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

My partner was the one who went in person to order and pick up the food; he had nothing but positive things to stay about the experience and the service! The lacy, crispy edges of the burger are HEAVEN and the fact that you can pick up and put down the burger and it still holds it's shape?! Fantastic! It's not nearly as messy as my usual spot. Everything is reasonably priced, and a good value for what you receive. I wish the burgers were a tad bigger because I feel like two to myself would really slay my hunger. My only gripe is that they use crinkle fries for their French fries, which we all know is not a top-tier example of the capabilities of a potato BUT they were exceptionally cooked and held up against the sauces and condiments of the loaded fries. But still. Crinkle fries Booooooo. I'm definitely coming back though. In fact, two Bro Burgers sound perfect right about now...
