Not sure what we expected.. but it didn't meet expectations. I will start by saving the service was really good but the food was a no for us. We ordered chicken nachos and burrato pizza. The pizza was ok and the nachos were underwhelming and probably had 7-8 pieces of chicken. I will say our drinks are really good and really well priced! $8 for a margarita, and a $80 bill for 5 drinks and two appetizers, that's almost unheard of nowadays. We visited Churchkey last week in November 2025 and as usual, it was a great experience. This place is roomy inside and is great for dates, small, medium, or large groups as well. It can be a bit noisy at times, but the atmosphere is great and also very fun. There's even a cute spot upstairs you can choose to sit in as well. I ordered the bonanza burger and wife ordered the borderline nachos. It was really good. I also ordered a blackberry bramble with whiskey. Our server was highly attentive and really kind. She made sure to go out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. All in all, I love this place and highly recommend it. They have something on the menu for everyone! read more

I've been telling myself I'm on a "diet" (you know, the kind where you still eat wings but balance it out with a salad so it feels healthy). I ordered the Cowboy Cobb for myself and some wings for my fiancé (because love is sharing food but also pretending you didn't secretly want the wings too). First bite of that Cobb? SMACK. Like, I don't know what they're putting in their salads, but it had no business being that good. Big, fresh, flavorful, and it actually felt like a meal, not just sad lettuce pretending to be dinner. And those wings? MASSIVE. Crispy like they came straight out of a food commercial. You know, the slow motion, crunch sound effect kind of crispy. The vibe inside sealed the deal for me. Highly disappointed in the service my friend and I received today. While I fully understand that establishments get busy, there is absolutely no excuse for unsanitary conditions. I wasn't even upset about waiting an hour -- we were patient and even asked for our food to go because we had to get back to work. Where my frustration truly comes from is the complete lack of concern shown by the manager, Courtney. She was dismissive, rude, and brushed off the fact that I found a hair in my food. Her exact response was, "these things occasionally happen." She also let me know that she was too busy to issue a refund. I'm sorry, but the tone you used and the way you made me feel as a customer was unacceptable. Went to Church Key expecting a decent sit-down experience and left extremely disappointed. We waited over an hour and a half total for ONE burger, and the restaurant wasn't even busy enough to justify that kind of wait. Our server basically came to drop off drinks, take our order, and disappeared for over an hour with zero updates. My boyfriend finally got up and went to the register because at that point we were ready to just take the food to go. The waiter saw him standing there and immediately assumed he was picking up a DoorDash order instead of recognizing him as someone from her own table. That alone says a lot about the level of attention and service we received. She told him to go back and wait at the table, and then suddenly followed behind him with the burger we had been waiting forever for. After all that, the food was mediocre at best and absolutely not worth the wait or rude service. Needless to say, no tip was left. I understand this is a sit-down restaurant, but taking an hour and a half for one burger with little to no communication is ridiculous. This is my third time coming here. The staff are wonderful and super sweet and welcoming. I love how chill the atmosphere is. Their pizzas are incredible! My favorite is their Yardbird pizza, but I've also tried the forager and wu killa bee which are also delicious! Their housemade ranch is also amazing! I also loveee their drinks. Their drinks are on the stronger side, but very affordable so it feels like you're getting your money's worth. Great place to pregame and get a small appetizer also. I've been here more times I can count but I figured I should finally write a review. Being a local, these are one of our go-to spots to take out-of-towners. The menu has something for everyone & even if there is sometimes a wait, the place is big enough that you don't have to wait too long. They have a ton of indoor seating - your choice at the bar, high seating, or a regular table. They have a good amount of outdoor seating, both at front & back of the restaurant. The back of the restaurant has super cute murals! I've always had friendly waiters/waitresses, no matter how busy it is. My go-to drink always is the Aperol Spritz - super refreshing & bonus, it looks super cute! There were two instances where two other customers asked me what I was drinking because it was so interesting to look at. Okay, okay, okay - What you came here for - THE FOODS! Coconut Curry Cauliflower Bites: MY FAVE! Super yums, so much flavor! Yum Yum Cauliflower Bites: This used to be my favorite but the last couple of times I've ordered this - it's had this burnt taste. Lemon Pepper & Spicy BBQ Cauliflower Bites: These flavors are both good. Jacked Up Poutine: Yuuuuuums, love me my fried potatoes & gravy. I always ask for the bacon on the side. Churchkey - Downtown Modesto Visited during Graffiti Week 2025 This place hits the perfect note, vibe, flavor, and service all in tune. I stopped in early during Graffiti Week and ordered the Baja Bowl with a Tall Vato Loco Lager, and... wow. The bowl was light, fresh, and layered with flavor, crisp tortilla strips, bright veggies, and just enough zest to keep you digging in. The beer was cold, smooth, and golden...paired perfectly. The interior is modern but welcoming, with a sleek bar, great lighting, and a mellow crowd. Music on the PA was on point...Johnny B. Goode, Dream Lover, Good Vibrations, setting a classic, uplifting mood for the week. Service was excellent. ordered $175 to go lunch today for a business meeting called before I came to find out where to park, was told they don't have a parking lot street parking is fine. Asked if my order was ready. They said it would be at noon so I parked on the street went in and paid for my to go order and left. You may ask why didn't you check your order? I didn't know what was on the order the client had ordered what they wanted got all the way to where my business meeting was only to be told that they forgot part of the food and I had to drive back across town to get it when I entered the establishment. They apologized and told me that they had 20 orders for to go and they were just really busy. I thanked them for apologizing and said I assume that the 27.95 in gratuity would be a removed. The server said no it wouldn't because orders for pick up over 6 items were charged a set % gratuity so the kitchen could be tipped without taking from the servers pocket. In fairness she did refund the two items I had to drive across town for. Im sure the food is tasty but service was not. read more

I can tell you we went on Tuesday and it was around 2 pm so it was not busy and we received excellent service and we had our food out promptly. The sourdough bread they use for their chicken sandwich is so delicious, my daughter had the pepperoni pizza and that was amazing, my husband had one of their special burgers I for the name but he said it was also so good and he would like to go back to try more items. My family and I have been here a few times. We love the menu. There's something for everyone. Servers have always been friendly. However, we've yet to be served in a timely manner. On our last (meaning most recent and also probably very last) visit, I had reservations for 90 minutes before our show at Gallo. We were seated quickly and drinks were brought quickly. When we placed our order (tots as an appetizer and pizza and burger) about 10 minutes after being seated, we were told the kitchen is "a little crazy." We still had over an hour before the show. Suffice it to say it took way too long, drinks weren't refilled, tots came out after the meal, and we were able to eat for about 5min before we had to pack it up to rush to the theater. Halfway through the meal a really obnoxious table was sat near us and they were loud and distracting, not the restaurant's fault, just sucks that people can't or won't read a room and see how much of a disturbance they are being. We had the Borracho Nachos, good but lacking flavor or charm, probably wouldn't get again. House Buffalo was good, spicy, dies fast so makes you want more or to load up Rock Burger was really good, crispy bacon, melted cheese, great flavor and size.
