While I've read the reviews, some very negative but are at least 7-8 years old, I can say I've never had a bad experience at this location. I've been both inside and through the drive-thru and have always had friendly customer service and my orders have always been correct. The place has been well maintained and appeared clean on my visits inside the store. Great location in that it's in the lot of the Great East Plaza and just a stones throw to the Eastwood Mall. I have yet to have a bad experience yet either with the food or service. Solid 4-stars for me.

This is the biggest one in the box 6 for $7.49.. I love that they do the half price ice cream cake, that's the only reason I gave 2 stars. But anytime I get a cone with sprinkles they're very light. If people are paying for a topping WE WANT THE TOPPING ON IT!

This was a medium blizzard. Def. not it. I'm sure there woulda been more if I had a mini one. Nvr again.

Sooo slow and once you're in line you're stuck because of the bushes surrounding the drive thru... and today I was handed a melted blizzard

From the moment you arrive, the experience feels intentionally unhurried and charming. Ordering at the window adds to that classic ice cream parlor nostalgia, and the outdoor seating invites you to slow down, sit back, and actually enjoy the moment instead of rushing through it. On a warm day, it's exactly where you want to be. The Service, omg the service was amazing, they care, they listen they even try to help with custom non menu item requests. And then there's the ice cream. Magnificent. Truly. Rich, creamy, perfectly balanced, and unmistakably homemade in both texture and flavor. Each bite feels indulgent without being overwhelming, and it's clear that quality--not shortcuts--is the priority here. This isn't just dessert; it's craftsmanship. Handel's manages to do something rare: it delivers consistency, atmosphere, and exceptional product all at once. Whether you're stopping by with family, friends, or simply treating yourself, it feels like a small celebration every time. Sometimes, all you need to soothe an overindulged stomach is a perfect scoop of classic vanilla, and Handel's absolutely delivered. I love the old-school, no-fuss vibe here. For those who want to linger, there are plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas. Or, you can easily get a lid and take your treats to go. I was out thrifting in Warren so I decided to give Cockeye Creamery a try after seeing it…read morerecommended by an online article. Located on the North side of Warren on 422 the Creamery is located in the parking lot of Cockey BBQ. The menu is a bit limited compared to most ice cream places, it has cones, dishes, sundaes (hot fudge only, milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches, plus hand packed pints and quarts. The variety comes from the variety of unique flavors of ice cream; I tried to get a picture of the flavors board, but the video screen was in the sun and was very hard to read. Service was nice, I got a sample of the Cornbread and Sorghum, which was unusual and very sweet. I ordered a dish with 3 scoops, which was a generous portion. All the ice creams were creamy, not too rich with good flavor, also the ice cream was served just at a great temperature, firm, but not solid so that the flavors really hit the palate. The Key Lime Pie was Key Lime ice cream with graham cracker and marshmallow creme, nice and balanced if not as tart as real key lime pie, but still tasty. The Kong, banana ice cream with graham crackers and mini buckeyes was great, the banana flavor was as good as I have had in an ice cream, not artificial at all. My favorite was the Andromeda, chocolate ice cream with brownie pieces and chocolate chips. The chocolate ice cream was the real star here, rich and chocolaty and not too sweet, this is what you want if you are a real chocoholic. Cockeye Creamery is concentrating on making great ice cream in some unique flavors, well worth a visit if you are in Warren and you want some high quality ice cream. Definitely worth a visit when you deserve a treat.

I've been to Bruster's before at different locations such as the East Liverpool one. That place was always busy from the moment they opened to their last minute customer. But when it comes to the Girard location. It was a ghost town with a tumbleweed passing you by type of situation. The ice cream selection was less than 10 flavors. And the ones that I decided on with my family was extremely disappointment. Within less than 10 minutes we tossed the ice cream into the trash can. I never in my life have I decided to do that. The taste of the ice cream was faint such as getting the cookies and cream milkshake. You could barely taste the flavor. My immediate thoughts were that a famous drive thru restaurant that deals with burgers and fries 95% of the time does a better job than a specialty ice cream shop. Go here for the mini putt-putt course NOT for their ice cream. Go to another Brusters location for better results. 11/10: Miniature Golf 0/10: Ice Cream

When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised (and a little annoyed) that the place was packed! The staff seemed a little overwhelmed at all the customers that were there, but were still pleasant. Although I am a huge fan of anything peanut butter, or salted caramel...the best thing this place has, IMHO, is the cake batter ice cream. The owner left his underage son in the store alone with me on a Saturday like I was some sort of babysitter. He got a thrill out of belittling employees infront of one another. Overall, I wouldn't support this business if they had the last scoop of damn ice cream on this planet. Don't let your kids work here let along eat here.

INCORRECT AND INCOMPETENT…read more I ordered a strawberry cheesecake blizzard cake for a birthday party. This is not my first time ordering this cake, but it is my first time ordering from this location (I was attending the party from out of town and this location was closer). I placed an online order with no issues. This store is apparently undergoing renovation (there are a few orange cones around, but no clear signage). I attempted to go inside to get my order but the door was locked. I then proceeded to the drive thru where I picked up and paid for the cake. The first red flag was that it was written on poorly, in black icing. I had chosen the "decorator's choice" option so they could choose which color would look best - well, it shouldn't have been black. The top was also a gross brown color. I was immediately disappointed and considered going back to have them fix the writing, but I didn't. Since I wasn't able to go inside to get my order, I did not see the cake until after it was already paid for. And then, after a nice family dinner and round of singing, we cut into this atrocity. Please see the attached pictures. There are DQ marketing photos to reference vs. what I received. A strawberry blizzard ice cream cake is to have 1) a layer of strawberry cheesecake blizzard 2) a layer of strawberry sauce and cheesecake pieces 3) a layer of vanilla ice cream. I received 1) unattractive black gel on top of a vague brown 2) overblended strawberry cheesecake layer (I did not see a single strawberry, again please reference the photos) 3) the typical chocolate crunch/fudge layers found in most DQ cakes 4) a layer of vanilla ice cream. Not what I ordered and not what I paid (extra) for. But it gets better. I understand that mistakes are made - clearly this cake was executed poorly from start to finish. I assumed that someone new and/or poorly trained made it. I called this location (politely, I promise!!) and explained the situation, that I had not received what I had ordered. The unsuspecting teenager on the other end of the phone call put me on hold and called his manager at home to see how to proceed. After a few minutes, he came back on the line and told me that he was told by his manager that all blizzard cakes come with a chocolate fudge layer. You and I both know, as people with common sense, working taste buds, and eyes to view the reference photos that that is not correct. I was told that I could not receive a refund, I could not have my order corrected, there was no solution. I was also informed that if I wanted anything other than the chocolate fudge layer, I had to make a special request when placing the order. I then went back to the website to check this - there is no special request option. The only customization available is to choose what message should be written and the (my mistake as mentioned prior) choice of icing color for the message. I (again, politely) told the unsuspecting teenager that a special request was not an option. The following dialogue ensued: "Well, I don't really know what the website looks like because I don't use it." "Okay, well I'm looking at it right now and this is what it says." "*silence*" He would not give me his name or the name of his (incorrectly informed) manager. I am disappointed in the product that I received. I am more disappointed in how this obvious mistake was handled. I will never use this location again and I will deter anyone I possibly can from ever giving this location a dime.
