This place is usually great. But apparently at lunch time they think it's a great idea to have one cashier (who might be the oldest lady I've ever seen) the place is packed and people have to wait almost 10 minutes to just place their order that's not even to get their food. Like guys we gotta do better. And it's not just one day it's everyday at lunch time. read more

We have been frequent customers of this Dairy Queen for many many years. However, we had a bad experience this past Saturday night. The girl who took our order at the counter could not have been less friendly. She leaned her arm on the register and propped her face up like it was the most boring thing in the world to have to wait on us. I also discovered later that she charged me the price of a large blizzard for a mini blizzard! My husband's blizzard was apparently made by a different worker there, because it was fine. The girl who had taken my order at the counter simply nodded that mine was sitting there waiting instead of bringing it to me. It was starting to melt and had not been blended properly. I felt totally ripped off and like we were a huge inconvenience to this young lady. read more

Got the large because I'm so skinny and can handle all that fat...NOT hits the spot, walk up service only 2 girls working with about 15-20 people in front of me. My friend and I were craving ice cream while we walked the local boardwalk so we stopped at DQ. Bad idea. When we got there there was several people in front of us but the cashier said they were looking at the menu still and asked if we needed help. A couple in front of us left because they were head to order and the cashier didn't want to assist them. I ordered a Mr. Misty Freeze. Now it's not on the menu any longer but it's a signature item and every DQ I've ever been to has made it and knows what it is. The cashier handed me a blue raspberry slush. I stood there for a minute so I could get my order redone but the cashier was too busy talking football to another coworker to even care. Rude. read more

This Dairy Queen is a mix. It's a great location located as it is near the water. It's a perfect place for a day downtown in the summer. The downside is that it's very small and doesn't really strike me as the cleanest place. It has a vetenarian odor to it. But quite acceptable enough for a summer treat! read more

Clean, fast, and always busy, especially on summer nights, as it's the only fast food downtown. For ice cream, though, there's definitely better alternatives (see my review of the Atrium Cafe) in my opinion. It's close to waterfront and the new Riverwalk, and convent to everything downtown. I wish there were more picnic tables outside, as there are only five booths inside, and they are really 2-tops, not 4-tops. All in all, it's a solid 3. read more

Oooops! I accidently ordered the wrong thing, but it turned out to be not such a bad thing. I ordered a "FlameThrower" Burger for a quick Saturday at work lunch, and found a bit of a kick with the first bite. When checking the DQ website later, I discovered that the kick was the sliced pepper/jack cheese and the jalapeno bacon. I left off the "Tabasco mayo", but it would probably have added a bit more "flame" to this burger. Not all mistakes are a bad thing. I would definitely grab this for my hubby on a "I'm not cooking dinner tonight" night at our house. read more

Best fast food burger in my opinion, and of course there is ice cream. Peanut Buster parfait or Oreo Blizzard, please. This Dairy Queen typically has friendlier staff than the one on the North End of town, so gets higher marks. Traffic is not as busy here either, nice place to ride your bike to. I think the season might be shorter for this DQ though. read more
