However, the excellent service that I received from both here and the hotel (and almost without exception - see below), is sometimes worth the round up. The dining room itself was spacious and comfortable and I thought that the table service was friendly, engaging, and prompt. At one point, they even provided free munchies for our meeting room that we needed before dinner. The only exception regarding service was in the lounge. The server was a little short with us in general and unsuccessfully tried to "deputise" me when one of my Canadian colleagues left the lounge area along with his drink. Having consulted a server, they highly recommended the chocolate butter tart for chocolate-lovers. The tart sides were delicious, and similar in texture to an egg tart. The inside was gooey and almost like chocolate sauce with a rich buttery base. The inside sauce really reminded me of a Chinese bun we love in Singapore, the liu sha bao or salted egg yolk custard bun. All in all, I highly recommend the chocolate tart for a small but punchy pop of decadence, and it goes perfect to complement with a cup of coffee. Other than that, the peppermint latte was wonderfully decorated according to my peppermint-loving friend (although another said it was definitely on the sweet side). Meanwhile, although my plain latte did not have the best latte art, staff proactively offered to add a variety of powdered toppings (cinnamon, cocoa and nutmeg) that put a smile to my face. All in all, it's a great place to chill and relax if you're not too fussy about everything being perfectly spic and span.
