This is my 3rd visit this month and I wish I could leave a better review. Each time we ordered a banana split and each time we were served cold, cream soup. This evening was especially disappointing when the whipped cream also melted into the cream soup to make the served dish a cottage cheese consistency- we did not eat it. I haven't been very impressed with this DQ location. The good: the cakes and other treats, and the chicken strip basket. I see people have had issues with the treats, but I haven't on several visits. The regular strip basket has always been good too. The bad: the burgers and tossed strips. The buns have been hard or rubbery almost every time I've gone, and they can't seem to count correctly on the sauced strips. I really want to like this place. I like the small business supporting local sports and stuff idea. It really makes me root for a business, but this location just isn't making that as easy as it should be. read more

Have you DQ'd today? Well, I hadn't since we left California a few years ago. I forgot how wonderful their fresh banana milk shakes are! Yum! What a special treat! I want to really like this local DQ that has been in Rio Rancho forever and supports the community, but this last time around it was a mess. Not only was a customer allowed to be blatantly ableist and rude to a child who very clearly had a service dog, but service was extremely slow and the entire place was dirty. Please encourage your employees to know the rights of those with service animals and prevent this type of outbursts from adult women towards young children. read more

I ordered a chocolate Oreo blizzard and it was very runny and basically melted so they definitely didn't try to flip it. I saw 6 employees in there talking and I still had to wait until I pulled up before they started making it. the blizzard was not mixed all the way so the bottom half was just vanilla soft serve. Consistently good service. For a nice treat on our way home. It's better than most dine in experiences I have these days. When fast food starts to look more appealing than fancy dine in restaurants, at that point you know places have gone down hill. But this one is my new favorite spot. We love DQ! This location in Rio Rancho has been here forever and one of my favorite things is that they have chocolate soft serve where many locations have only vanilla and mix in chocolate syrup to make it chocolate. I love the staples; bizzards, dipped cones, dilly bars but note, the only way to get a chocolate cone "dipped" in cherry here is to get it sundae style with the cherry dip drizzeled over top. This was the first time I have ever been served a PB Parfait made with nut topping instead of the famous Spanish peanuts we've come to know and love. If, when we ordered, they'd have told us they were out of Spanish peanuts, we would have changed our order OR they could have offered an upgraded substitute like pecans. Both blizzards we got where melted and overflowing and messy. My husband asked them to wipe the sides off and the girl with the colorful braids flipped him off through the window. Blizzard was all vanilla ice cream about halfway down because it was poorly mixed. Not worth the 15 minute wait in the long drive through line. Not sure how they can claim they're too short staffed to have the dining room open when there were at least 5 employees in there. The problem I have with this DQ is the lack of anyone over the age of 21 that works there, so the quality of the food seems to really suffer; and, when did a small Blizzard start costing almost $4? I could see paying maybe $2.50 for this since it is ice-cream and a scoop of candy, but $4 is too much for what you are getting. You know what you are going to get as far as DQ goes, but their prices are WAY too high and the inmates seem to be running the asylum. read more

Ok, so I'm giving this place one star because the staff was friendly and smiled. The food was fake. I know sound funny but... ok so my ice tea tasted funny and I asked if it was sweetened with sugar or a syrup. I was told they did not know because it came in a bag (no brewed in house). So upon getting it I notice my lettuce was wilted, my bacon was soggy and not cooked, and my bread was weird soggy and the entire thing was popping hot like don't touch even the bun hot. I went to Dairy Queen last night 6/30/16. I placed my order for 3 hot fudge sundaes for the family.. When the drive through attendant handed m one of the sundaes it only had hot fudge on it. I asked the girl if she forgot the whip cream nuts and cherry. She said no that the only thing sundaes came with was the topping. I said to her since when? She says that's the way it's always been. And that those items cost extra to the amount of 2 more dollars.!! I just stopped by and I was provided with my dipped cone that was not even fully dipped. It was leaning back and forth and almost fell on me in my car. The ice cream here is standard fare for Dairy Queen. It's always a good treat on a hot summer day or just a random day. The thing that makes this place just "ok" versus "good" is the service. Wish the staff that worked here was a little more friendly and sometimes the drive through gets back up due to slower service. The employees are extremely pleasant and accommodating . The restaurant never runs out of chocolate ice cream like the one at cottonwood mall. Thie store on a Southern is always well staffed.
