I don't know if this DQ is owned by the same people as the food center that it's attached to, but it was not good... My sundae was very sparsely topped with the cocoa fudge I ordered, plus it was all spilled on the outside of the cup (thus my shirt). My husbands cheeseburger ($6 meal deal) had white cheese on it, NOT cheddar, and had so much mustard slapped on it that it overpowered the whole thing. The employees should know that we can see into the kitchen from the drive thru window. With that being said we are camping at calico ghost town (no one is around) we decided to go out for an ice cream treat.... first off the young lady at the window had her mask under her nose and when she talked it fell below her mouth. I've gone to this Dairy Queen 3-4 times in the past 1.5 years. Each time the service is terrible. Order comes out wrong and you wait 35-45min minimum even when you're the first person in line. Today they were out of burgers (???), Got my husbands order wrong, and we waited 45min with only one car in front of us. They had a sign saying the brownie cookie dough was a new flavor so I ordered it in a heartbeat. The brownie chunks tasted like play dough. I mean I have never tasted play dough. We were looking forward to this stop on our way to Vegas. We've had very enjoyable experiences in the past. However, this business has taken full advantage of Covid to just give up on anything resembling customer service. The dining room was completely roped off and the seats in the booths turned upside down...even though the signs posted on the soda machine (which was also closed) stated that the dining room was open. When I asked the cashier if they would at least refill our sodas, since the soda fountain was closed, I got a curt "No." The restaurant was filthy, the bathrooms even worse. We though it was rather ironic that their posted sign stating they were committed to cleanliness was splattered and dirty. We ordered a medium vanilla ice cream cone and a small vanilla ice cream in a cup, which the cashier charged us a small sundae instead of a vanilla cup. We placed our order at 12:56 pm and didn't get our orders until we confronted the cashier at 1:06 pm. We got our ice cream cone and in the cup which we paid for as a sundae. The place was packed with customers waiting for their orders and the staff behind the counter working,( i.e. one cashier and a kitchen help ) were overwhelmed and short handed. Monday January 25th 2021 at about 3pm.. Super Slow Service.. First of all I waited about 10 minutes or more for them to take my order, then another 10 minutes or more just to get my order. They have a yelp check in for 10% off but they "have no way of doing it without printing it out." Honestly, not worth the hassle especially given you need to order over $5 and most of their items are under. I like the fact that they are located in a gas station and here's why: You can fuel up your truck and grab a bite to eat if you are tired . The gas station also sells food so you can buy food here and a drink in the store next door ( there's a passageway that connects them btw) or get food at the gas store and a frosty in Dairy Queen.
