    Belt Buster meal
    Son M.

I was in town over the weekend and this Dairy Queen was within walking distance of my hotel, so I decided to stop in for dinner. This is a typical DQ Texas location, with the menu items that are unique to Texas, such as the Hungr-Buster, Belt Buster, etc. I came in and ordered a Belt Buster meal, which comes with fries and a drink. Cheese is extra. The server was friendly, and took my order with expediency and efficiency. In time, my order came out and I took it back to my room to eat. The Belt Buster met my expectations, the ingredients are fresh, and it was also cooked fresh. The fries were also recently cooked as it was crispy. My soft drink, however, was on the watery and diluted side. While they included ketchup and napkins in my to-go bag, the ketchup packets were on the sticky side. One issue of concern I had at this DQ location is the lax sanitary practices. While the staff were wearing masks, I observed none wearing gloves as they were taking payment and handling the food. Furthermore, there appears to be no hand sanitizing--or hand sanitizer--present as I was observing them prepare my food. During this time of COVID-19, more precautions should be taken to ensure that food is handled in a sanitary manner.

Had a craving today and it was satisfied! Drive thru was clean, attendant was pleasant and the wait wasn't too long for hot piping food. I ordered the steak finger basket. It was very good. Love their new baseball cups! Go Astros!

The Chicken salad yummy. It has bits of bacon also

Why Why did we have to move our offices down the street from DQ? I haven't eaten this much ice cream in 8 years, I now go to DQ at once a week. I really have to see if there is a DQ rehab meeting during lunch. My favorite is the Popcorn Chicken...yes this would be great if mixed with a salad or something greens, but I prefer mines with a small blizzard. Life here is good, it's summer, summer time... UPDATE 7/9/2014 Well because of Earl A. another yelp reviewer I had to go and try their salad - crispy chicken, bacon bits ! Yes yes yes

Ok, so I have a serious DQ problem...I am from a small town where DQ was the big and only thing in town; when I moved to Houston, I honestly didn't find that anything fast-food wise compared. Of course when I lived over here years and years ago, I would come over here and get my usual (burger and fries with a side of cream gravy). I am super pleased that this location is still open because the night my friends and I decided to pre-move boxes over to my new place before the official move, I brought the guys here & bought them dinner. The dining room was empty because it was late (I think we made it before they closed), and the young man was very gracious in taking our orders and bringing it out to us without rushing us out or anything. The burgers are still very juicy and made perfectly to order, the fries have a perfect crispness with tender insides...man, and you just can NOT have their fries without their delicious, thick cream gravy with that peppery bite. One of my friends ordered the tacos, and they were so big, full and crispy. Their steak fingers are so incredibly good, as good as I remembered them to be; nice and crispy on the outside and meaty and juicy on the inside. I seriously can't finish the 4 pc basket which comes with lots of fries, toast and a side of cream gravy; the chicken tender basket is identical. The Dude (chicken fried steak sandwich) is also killer; perfect for when you don't want a regular burger. Ice cream? Ok, forget it, it is always rocking because it is soft-serve, but I am very good about steering clear from it, lol You also can't beat the price; I spent less than $20 for all three of us (and that included 2 guys!). The other thing about them is that drive-thru service is also quick and everyone is always pleasant & courteous.

Received banana split just like this.

Blizzard served with a drink lid on it, wasn't turned upside down. Didn't realize why until I'm pulled off, it was completely melted

If you go here , make sure you go before 10:30, because apparently that's their new closing time. Even though online it says 11:00 pm.

You may order online, in shop through a tablet, or with a person at the register. We used the register because we did not see the tablet and did not want to order ahead online. The ladies who helped us on our visit were very nice. You get a number and they call it when your made to order food is ready. We did not have to wait long. There was medium to low noisy ambiance. It was deserted when we arrived, but they have relatively loud background music. While we were eating it got pretty crowded. Mostly a lot of young people in the middle of the day on a Monday. The inside is small, seating both inside and outside are limited and close together. One lady was studying with her laptop, but there are no plugs. The breakfast sandwich is customizable. We got it on a croissant and with sausage. The eggs had a unique texture and the sandwich a unique flavor that we could not place, but both were very tasty. We also wanted a crepe, but we split the sandwich and it was sufficient. We also got a small mocha and a decaf, both were ok to good. We would definitely come back again and recommend that you give them a try for a crepe or sandwich. It is sad that a few Yelpers brought down their average to 3.8 stars due to petty and unjustified complaints such as having to pay for parking downtown. Other complaints are not the business' fault such as periodic homelessness--it is a downtown area in the US, other cities have far worse homelessness than Midtown Houston and we saw none on this visit. Additionally, complaints about takeout orders are mostly petty. Takeout is never as good as eating at the restaurant and so customers should adjust their expectations rather than dock the business stars. Nearly every recent Yelp review for this who ate at the restaurant gave 4-5 stars for food quality and customer service. Like most of the restaurants in this area it is a pretentious yuppy style place with specialized food. Although not usually our type of place (we like down to earth hole in the wall places with good food or taco truck type restaurants), Coco's is a solid 4 star restaurant for the type of place they are and they offered a 5 star experience on our visit. Again, recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for crepes or sandwiches.
