My wife ordered a medium turnkey & avocado and I ordered a medium turkey and avocado. Got home and noticed the turkey had a "funny" smell to it. Not sure if they're having supply chain problems and substituting the normal turkey for a replacement, but it just was not good! All of the ingredients on the medium sandwich were lumped high in the middle rather than being spread evenly over the entire sandwich. It seems a little training of the employees would go a long way. I wanted to get a Cinnabon for my husband for breakfast or his birthday. They open at 10:30. I got there at 10:32 and the door was locked eventhough there was a truck in the parking lot. I knocked on the door and waited a couple minutes. No answer. So I called the store to see if I could reach them that way. No answer, and a lady inside shows her face and opens the door a couple minutes later with an attitude. I get inside and she says she hasn't started making the cinnabons. After that I went to the Schlotzsky's on Westheimer and Dairy Ashford. They had several workers up and about. Cinnabons were ready and I got one after a few minutes. You'd think the Memorial location would be nice because Memorial has that kind of reputation. read more

This was my first time to this eatery and it was overall ok. Atmosphere - clean tables, floors and countertops. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the beverage area. Customer service - Good. The gentleman who took my order was quite courteous and gave me time to look over the menu before ordering. I really appreciated his friendly smile. Later, another employee brought the food to the table. That was an unexpected surprise especially since we were given numbers upon ordering. I was anticipating being called to pick up my food when it was ready. Table service was a nice touch. Food - Good. I ordered a small Deluxe Original combo. The sandwich had plenty of meat but no cheese. I thought it came with that but am not sure. Regardless, not having that ingredient was a bit disappointing. The toasted bun was a welcomed touch. But all-in-all, I was simply a bit underwhelmed. There was nothing "special" to really highlight. Value - Average to Pricey. I did not feel my food was worth over $9.00. I could have easily gotten a comparable lunch at any fast food sandwich shop for $2-$3 dollars less. However, I did get a chance to see the food ordered by several other diners. And, much of it looked tasty. Consequently, this review gets just three stars. But, I am willing to go again to try more of their menu. I've got my eye on pizza and salad for my next visit. Schlotzsky's was on our list of lunch places. After all, their fresh baked sandwiches are pleasant and appealing. Plus, they have drive-thru when you are in a rush. I received an e-coupon for a free drink and bag of chips with any sandwich purchase this morning. So when we discussed where to go at lunch, I eagerly printed out coupons for me and my mates and we headed down to Schlotzsky's. When I ordered and presented my coupon, I was served with more than just food - I got a side order of 'tude. Steve was my cashier and boy did he give me attitude. He made no qualms about being unhappy about my printed out coupon and behaved quite pissy to me. My lunchmate presented the other female cashier with a printed coupon as well. Apparently, they were in a tizzy because it was the same coupon printed out. I looked back at the girls behind the counter and they were all talking about the stupid coupon as well. Geez ... Seriously ... is it that big of a deal? The stupid coupon saved me $2 bucks. It's only $2 ... no big deal. I told him that I won't be using any more of these coupons that they send me ... in fact ... I won't be returning to this location. When my other lunchmate presented her printout, Steve was mellower and said he'd grant the coupon. Seriously? He gave me grief over a $2 coupon that brought us to their location for lunch to begin with. So, I've got a great solution. Next time ... keep your stupid coupon. I'd rather spend more money elsewhere where they don't have a coupon, but treat you much, much better. It's the Fourth of July, so while you were out BBQing, shooting off illegal fireworks, and drinking beers, I was eating at Schlotzsky's. As you can imagine we were the only people in there. The cashier was super friendly despite having to work a holiday. I had Turkey and my wife ordered the Original. My wife's sandwich had a hair on it but she ate around it. If that was my sandwich that would have cost at least one star. Anyway, Schlotzsky's isn't bad in a pinch. This is a newly renovated full featured restaurant much better than its former location across the street. I eat here at least once a week and the staff is friendly and the service quick. You order your meal, you get a number, and they bring out your food to your table. They have the standard Schlotzsky's desserts plus a selection from Cinnabon. They also have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that lets you select from thousands of fountain drink combinations. I also enjoy the coffeehouse style music they typically have playing. read more

Hearty sandwiches that can be healthy if you know what to get. I get the veggie on jalapeno cheese bread. I add mustard too. It is nicely filling and tasty. They also have cinnabons at this location. I ordered Cinnabons for the office on UberEats and initially was impressed because the food came so quickly. Everyone got their sweets but when I went to eat mine, it was so hard that the fork could not tear it. I tried with my fingers to see if the whole thing was hard or just that spot. The WHOLE cinnabon was hard! I could literally knock on it with my fork like a piece of wood. I immediately called to speak to a manager and I got Ann. I explained to her the situation and her reply to me was somewhat of a shock. I was told that because we used UberEats there was nothing she could do. I explained to her that the Uber driver wasn't the issue. The food came in a timely manner, I was unhappy with the quality. She said oh, I don't know, I can't help you and disconnected the call. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and the refusal to attempt to correct the issue. I know it was only $4 but an apology at the least would have been nice. read more

On the one hand, who yelps about fast food? On the other hand, Schlotzsky's deserves some applause. If you're from an area that doesn't have them, give this one a try. They're very well-trained on providing good customer service and the food quality is outstanding. I recommend a medium Original (you'll never finish a large). I just tried the Ham Dunk, a temporary menu item, and it was amazing. The only reason I couldn't stick that fifth star on my rating is because they sometimes have a tendency to pile all your ingredients in the center of the sandwich, causing you to start off with one or two overwhelming bites followed by several more bites that taste like afterthoughts. read more
