I have been going to this Dairy Queen for years and it has always been slow moving and the costumer service was never good, but for the past year that has been different. Now the workers are very nice, I even once offered a tip because they were so efficient! Waiting in line also used to take like 40 minutes even if there was just 3 or 4 cars in front of us. Now I is way quicker and a nicer experience. The only thing was that my chocolate dipped cone was very messy and a little melted. Overall, Dairy Queen has improved tremendously. read more

Fair warning, this is a looong review! Let me set the scene.... Our family just had a great morning hike in the Hill country and were heading back to Austin. We are hungry and stopped at DQ to grab a quick bite. There were so many red flags we ignored. It's easier to write this out bullet style: - pulled into the drive through, 3 cars in line. 10 minutes of waiting, no cars moved and the car in front of us was still waiting to place their order - decided it would be faster to go in (spoiler alert, it was not) - walked in to a dirty, greasy smelling DQ that immediately gave off red flag vibes - one older man in front of us seems to be having an issue which i later found out was that he had been waiting an HOUR for his burger. He was nice but clearly losing his patience and had to deal with the staff arguing with him about his order - after he left, we placed our order. This was painful. Every word we said seemed to confuse the cashier. I later found out it was her 2nd day, so she gets a pass, but she had clearly been put in a bad situation. Read on to find out why... - the dq wasn't overly busy but it seemed every single customer had been waiting awhile and had issues with their order. I saw a guy go back 3x to get issues fixed - during our long (45 minutes at our table) wait, we noticed the staff was arguing with each other a lot. One older lady with a long braid appears to be the cook but found out later she was also the manager on duty. - a kind worker came out to let us know she was sorry for the delay. I asked how much longer. She asked the cook/manager who loudly and angrily said , "I have no idea" - I decided to cut our losses and leave. I went to the counter to cancel our order and ask for a refund. The new employee went to the back to let the manager know and came back to tell me the manager was finishing something (cooking) and would be up soon (I can see her cooking). After 15 minutes standing and waiting, I see her finish an order and start another. I asked the other nice lady if she can help with the refund. She looked up our order, which appeared to be 7 deep in the ticket line (we had already been there 45 minutes). - she then also went back to the manager (who I can see), and was berated and yelled at for bringing it up to her. The nice lady then walked out of the DQ to the parking lot. I asked the new employee what was up and she said the nice lady went to talk to the "big boss". - nice lady came back in, popped open the cash register and gave me my refund. I said thanks. The manager then yelled at her asking if she just tattled on her. Keep in mind all of this is happening with a room full of customers including kids - I walked out to my car and see that the manager lady is now screaming at a young man in an expensive pickup truck in the parking lot who got out and started walking back into DQ( turns out this was the "Big Boss"!) - the original car we were behind in the drive through got their food as we decided to leave (45 minutes later). Another poor soul watched me through the drive through window as I stood at the counter for another 20 minutes waiting on my refund. His eye contact with me said "oh crap, this was a mistake!" - while waiting for our 45 minutes of no food, my son informed me that this DQ had 1.7 stars in reviews. I have never run into a place with such low reviews and so many reviews. After reading them, it's clear that this has been going on for years! In short, stay far far away! I can't imagine what the food is like given our experience in the restaurant. We also smelled like fry oil when we left. Also, why is "BIg Boss" sitting in his truck while this crazy town atmosphere is happening inside??? read more

The service was awful, the owner needs to come check this place out. The floors are nasty with trash everywhere, staff were very rude. Food was not the best either Idk what but dq headquarters needs to be contacted, ever been to one this bad and we are here for work and travel a lot. read more

We were on the way to Austin to a friend's funeral so we didn't want to stop for a long meal, so we chose the DQ in Llano. When we ordered, the very polite young man told us there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. We should have just left then. We waited for a half an hour and then began to compare notes with people at the other tables who had been there when we sat down, and still hadn't gotten their food. One table did get served after an hour and 45 minutes. I went to the register and asked for a refund but the young people couldn't do that. So I nicely asked for a 20 dollar gift card. Not able to do that either. One table told us the manager had to go to another town for supplies and was now in the back cooking. Sorry for her bad day. But we will eat the crackers we have in the car. Can't wait any longer. read more

DQ is relentlessly advertising its $7 meal, which is a good deal if you can get it. Problem is I can't find a DQ that's participating in this "Texas only" promotion. It's a scam, a classic bait-and-switch. You order it and they say, "We did it for a while but no longer." I still go there for the banana split. The onion rings are hard and flavorless. The tacos used to be good but no longer. I prefer Taco Bell because when they run a special they stand by it. read more

I live here and I have given them chance after chance...it remains terrible. Burgers come out cold, orders come out wrong. Can't keep employees attention long enough to get the order right. Supposedly some older management came back so I was holding out hope. Today they even messed up a blizzard. Hope I don't die from today's under cooked cold burger. So disappointed. read more

Absolutely the worst DQ I've ever visited. I went in on 1-7-25 to buy hamburgers. The restaurant was filthy. One other couple was waiting. No employees were in the store, literally. No one was behind the counter or anyplace else in the store. I waited 10 minutes then gave up...no show on the employees. Ridiculous. The owner needs to make some changes. The food was okay and it was clean. My complaint is the employees do not smile and it is not like all other DQs as they charge for every single thing. Getting a kids meal and want gravy $0.80; want to dip your kids meal ice cream another charge. Most other DQs these two items are included, no big deal. Husband and I stopped in Llano at the Dairy Queen. We went inside to order and eat. It was Noon, so they were busy but had 2 registers open. The young man who took our order was very polite. I ordered a taco (3) basket and a drink. My husband ordered a large Butterfinger Blizzard. I got a cup with ice for my drink after the order was rung up. My husband's waited fir his Blizzard then joined me in a booth. In a few minutes, my tacos were delivered to our table. The tacos were perfectly cooked. Yum! The Blizzard was great, as usual. We stopped for a drive through quick lunch on a trip back from the TX Hill Country. The first red flag as a sign that their "lines were down" and could only accept cash. The 2 car ahead of us wait was long to get to the window but at least it moved. Then the real wait kicked in. It was like they lost our order and then didn't know how to cook a burger. Total time was over 20 minutes to get our food. We were the only car in line at that point. I had to threaten to cancel the order and get a refund to get any movement. It was totally chaotic. I have stopped a few times in the past there, but I will NEVER stop there again. There wasn't even as much as an apology for the delay. AND it wasn't cheap, two burgers, one with a milkshake was over $22. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! read more

If this were the norm of DQ's, I would not be a customer. The buns on our two to go orders were ridiculously stale. You can tell they steam the buns to soften them up but they tasted like cardboard as the bread cooled. They also do not take the accepted Covid precautions seriously. Only one employee wore a mask, the other that helped us had it dangling from her ear and the cook did not wear one. Cups were stored on the counter were all customers could access them. As I was traveling, I decided to stop at the Leno Dairy Queen. There was about two or three cars in the parking lot only one person in front of me at the drive-through. Where do I even begin with this review?? We ordered and took a table to wait for our food. Then my daughter and I decided to wash our hands. The bathroom was disgusting. Then we noticed that people that arrived after us were starting to get their food. I walked to the counter and the manager asked if he could help us. I said we were waiting for our food. He said, "Oh we will bring it out." I expressed concern that it had taken so long. He waved me away by pointing at food in the window. We sat down and waited about 5-7 minutes. Then I went back up. It turns out the cashier messed up and our order was never started. The manager was already gone, so another cashier said they could start the order or refund our money. No stars!! Can't post if no stars.. Waited in drive thru for 15 min saying hello and no one answered. Called the restaurant and asked if there drive thru was open and the guy that answered was stuttering trying to find out what was "going on". There was no one ahead of us. By far the worst customer service no one gave a proper apology or "ACT" concerned. There are 5 people working, maybe 2-3 customers in the lobby (eating). We told to drive up and they would bring our food out. By this point we wanted a refund, waiting 10 more min and while walking back in.. our food was just sitting there.. Told the lady we are upset because no one answered us at the drive through and the people behind us already got there food before us. We didn't order anything special and it was only two orders. She said she apologized but saying "thank you for your patience" is not a EXACT apology. Good to know and instead of making the customer happy and saying sorry (basically all I wanted) she cut me off to say that she did say sorry and I need your receipt. That's fine. My husband asked for a malt with no whipping cream, which is customary at DQ's from our home area. The rude lady that looked like Shrek's sister replied "We're not Sonic! Prejudice experience... walked in with my Hispanic family and almost had everyone staring at us. Employee walks up to the counter from the back, seen us and all of a sudden, they were at capacity and we had to leave. If she would have told others in front or those who came after the same, I would have understood. It was only us! And no one was counting at the door! When I asked if it was because we were "Hispanic" she didn't answer, just kept apologizing. So awful to experience with my kids there! I wouldn't even give it 1 star if I didn't have too! read more

Terrible experience with rude employee that was sarcastic and rude to my children who asked questions about the menu. We were traveling and very surprised at a grown woman acting like a spoiled child who didn't seem to be interested in the service portion of the service industry. This restaurant never closes at the right time the employees always lock the doors at least 10 minutes before the correct time.

S-L-O-W in the drive thru. Waited 20-30 minutes both times we've been. Got the order wrong the second time and had to go back. Filthy place! That says it all. Tables, chairs, trays, walls, everything would need a thorough sanitation! The food was spread on a dirty tray twice the size of the dirty tray paper (yeah the paper was filthy too!) so I had to throw all the fries touching something. On top of that they also got the order wrong. Toilets? Don't even ask, I need to get my shots renewed! BTW no paper towels so you have to open the toilet door by the handle? The short of this review is terrible service cold food and a stomach ache DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.... stopped at dairy queen because the line at famous coopers was outrageous. After pulling up to the window after we ordered we were asked to pull up and they would bring our order out. After 15 minutes passed and two cars behind us ordered received their food and left my wife went to inquire of our order. Inside she found 6 or seven people who had paid and were waiting on their order. She asked the young lady politely "we ordered and were asked to pull up and wait for our order it has been 15 minutes just wanted to check on our order". The employee said rudly WE ARE BUSY she turns to another employee repeated what my wife had said and walked off. My wife inquires the food under the heat lamp our food had been there the whole time. No apology no nothing just threw the bag on the counter and walked off. We drive a few blocks down the road open our food its almost cold we are hungry so we eat. The food made us sick. I wish there was a no star this place deserves no stars. Its clear from the other reviewsthat this place is awful, but I cant stand paying for a stomach ache and cold fries. read more

After getting awful ice cream with rancid peanuts and incredibly salty hot fudge & a banana shake that had been weakened with so much milk and very little banana (no banana taste at all), I called the store to comment on it. I was surprised that the assistant manager was actually able to listen to my complaint without getting defensive or argumentative. She offered to make it right by replacing the order on the following visit. I agreed. (Normally, I don't go back because of the high risk of food being tampered with in spite.) Upon return visit, I told the assistant manager who I was. She just walked off without saying anything to me, in apparent annoyance. After a 3 person staffs meeting at the registers with a lot of pointing and head turning in my direction, they began to make the order. The person who handed the order to me never acknowledge me nor did they offer any further customer service such as "would you like some napkins?". I brought that to her attention. And she called me rude. Which is something that is absolutely intolerable in the customer service field. I asked to speak to the manager. She began closing the window. At which point I stated that if the manager didn't come to the window, that I would come inside. The manager came. I told her why I was angry at this point, not just giving feed back. She shrugged her shoulders in a dismissive manner. So I asked her is she was aware of how bad their reputation is. She said, "it's not bad". I referred her to the Yelp page. I stopped going to this Dairy Queen in 2009 because of poor food quality. I gave it another try a few months ago. The quality of the food was much improved. The staff is generally friendly although not the most customer oriented. On two occasions they brought out my order on trays that had not even been partially cleaned from prior use.
