Now I can get the toppings and customized buns to make my burger exactly how I like it. Here's what I ordered: a regular whataburger -tomato and a large lemonade. The whataburger was plain with no flavor and my lemonade tasted artificial you know the kind that leaves an after taste in your mouth. My wife and I visited Fredericksburg for our 10th wedding anniversary. After an expensive dinner date, we still found ourselves hungry, so we decided to check out the only Whataburger in town. The service was excellent during our visit. We ordered from the drive-thru, and though there was a 15-minute wait due to traffic, it wasn't too bad in my opinion. When we ordered, they informed us that they were out of large buns for the burgers but could use Texas toast instead. I agreed since, to me, bread is bread. My burger was fresh, and the cheese was perfectly melted. I also ordered a strawberry shake, which I really enjoyed. My only complaint is that I wish they had bigger straws for their shakes, as I had to wait for it to melt a bit before I could drink it without struggling. read more

Such a bummer when you get a burger and the cheese is unmelted and cold, and that's exactly what happened to us when we visited this Whataburger location a couple of weeks ago. I was especially bummed because I don't live in Texas anymore, so Whataburger is a nostalgic treat. Other than the unmelted cheese (really the whole burger should have been hotter!), the visit was fine. Staff was friendly, the milkshake tasted just like it's tasted my whole life, the service was fast, and the location was close and convenient to everything in downtown Fredericksburg. First let me say I am a HUGE Whataburger fan. When we first entered drive-thru of the Fredericksburg location, I thought how efficient, they have someone going to each car taking orders to speed up things. After that things went completely south. We waited 10 minutes to even get to the window. Once at the window they forgot one of our drinks and we had to wait another 5 minutes because they had to brew the coffee for the drink. Then they came out as we were waiting and still weren't sure what I ordered. At least 5 car went through the drive-thru as we waited. We were in the drive thru for exactly 32min. The "Mexican hot chocolate coffee" is not what you think. Basically coffee sprinkled with cinnamon. Nothing that resembles hot chocolate/coffee. One sip and tossed it. Our food was not hot and fresh like you would normally get from a Whataburger. Very disappointed. The staff are extremely friendly and pleasant, that was the only positive. read more

My husband William and I stopped at the Whataburger in Fredericksburg, TX today, March 5, 2026, at exactly 1:00 PM. As we got drinks and found a table, we noticed a large male employee running a very large, loud floor scrubber while customers were trying to have their meals. When a young man brought us our food, William asked him if he could tell the employee to stop running that machine, because William did not bring his hearing aids, and the loud sound was really bothering him. He said he would, and I went to the restroom real quick. When I came back, the employee was running the machine again! I thought that was very rude and disrespectful. My husband had had it, half way through his meal, especially because the employee with the machine was coming nearer, and scraping the floor loudly with the chairs moving around as he scrubbed. William thought he was doing that on purpose, and was upset at being told, so he and went to the front to talk to the manager in a kind and respectful manner, and the manager happened to be the young man who brought us our meal. William is an 85-year-old disabled Vietnam veteran, and he didn't have his cane with him at the time, but decided to take a chance and go talk to him anyway. He told him in a nice way that this machine was running again, and the manager replied that he already told the man to stop. William then asked him to write his name down on a piece of paper, and the man disappeared into the kitchen, sending a young lady to go tell the employee to stop running the machine. This time he did, and put everything away. You know what I saw here? Total disrespect from the employee on the machine, towards the manager--and no spine on the manager's part if he cannot control his employees when a customer is having hearing difficulties because of that loud machine (this machine shouldn't be run while anybody is in the business anyway, since we could hardly hear ourselves talking during the cleaning). And then to send out a young lady to talk to the employee when he couldn't get him to stop the first time? What are we to think of this? We have always loved Whataburger, and we lived in Corpus Christi, TX for decades. We have never witnessed such rudeness and disregard at any of your stores. Needless to say, we won't be eating at this one again. read more

Some good and bad here. Mostly good: the place is clean, there are plenty of employees, the employees are friendly/helpful, the parking lot accommodates a lot of cars. But unfortunately the quality/taste of the food is pretty mediocre. I found I really didn't even want to finish mine once my initial hunger wore off because the honey BBQ chicken sandwich I ordered tasted very bland... it needed more sauce and the Texas toast was clearly put on a greaseless griddle as it lacked any buttery taste or crunch. Had to put extra salt on the fries to give them life. The kitchen may have been prioritizing speed to keep up with all the clientele, but when I put down $10 for lunch, I really ought to enjoy consuming it, right...? At first my order came out incorrectly with a bun, and the manager (I assume, she was wearing a grey long sleeve and behaving quite professionally) was quick to rectify it and happily provide a replacement. Placed order online thinking once I arrive I can just go through the drive thru and pick up order. However, nope when I arrived there was at least 15 vehicles in drive thru. I waited for close to 15 minutes thinking it would move faster and then decided that since my pick up time has passed I can just park in pick up area or maybe call and ask them to bring it to me to the door. Nope female employee told me they can't do that. So I explained that my food is probably made and going to be cold by the time I pick up and all I was told was sorry. Sorry my aaaaasssssss. I love Whataburger but this location needs a better staff. They were friendly but they got the order wrong. The young girl taking our order was to busy looking around and chatting with another coworker instead of paying attention to the customer standing in front of her, which was me. They made my daughters order right but there wasn't anything they could do about mine. I ordered only a burger but ended up with a combo meal which I didn't order but paid for. Love the Whataburger. Sure wish they would expand their stores to Washington state. The burgers are just like they should be. They're big, loaded with goodies such as mustard, lettuce, onions, pickles, tomatoes and cheese. We stopped here for lunch. French fries were hot, cheeseburger freshly made and establishment very clean. Linda, at the counter , wasn't terrible friendly but our order was placed correctly and we received it fairly quick. I think my main complaint would be the size of the drinks. It's really hard to hold them. The cups are so big our hands don't go around the cups! If I don't remember to check my bags before leaving, I will most definitely make it home without having everything I ordered. I'm giving 5 stars to the employee, Melissa, who took our order today. There was a long line and at 10:45am, this location was out of biscuits and med sized cups. Melissa was the only order taker/cashier. She was very thorough, repeated each order out to every customer before ringing them up, extremely calm, joyful, and such a trooper. The kitchen was backed up and Melissa informed everyone in line that there was a 10 min wait for food.
