They don't make the ice cream, it's made in Fredericksburg, which is ok because I got taste some of the tiramisu and it was divine, sadly it's a one time flavor. Llano River Creamery and Kitchen had plenty of options to dine. I loved the town which was small and had a great Texas vibe to it. So the only place that was open was the Llano River Creamery and Kitchen. We got to try several usuals like the red velver cheesecake, peaches & cream , cookie monster, mint chochip, etc. but you also had special ones luke amareto peach pecan, bourbon & snickers boozy and these were available in Quarts. Visited today (Halloween) with my partners sister and was informed by some enthusiastic kids that people in costumes were receiving a free scoop of ice cream, which we had seen advertised on the billboard outside too. We were dressed up due to the date, and requested these at the till-point but unfortunately the young girl behind the till failed to inform us that our flavours requested for this (chocolate) was not included and that we'd have to pay for the scoops instead. We also ordered a cone for my partner as he wasn't dressed up and was happy to pay for his ice cream but the scoop was weighed with the holder included and the total for 2 small cups and a cone was almost $20. A ridiculous price for such a small amount of ice cream, especially when we only visited due to this seasonal event being on. Disappointing to say the least! read more

While walking the square we saw that this was an ice cream store and craving some we decided to stop in. Unfortunately for me, they had absolutely no labels on their ice cream. When I asked if any of the flavors were gluten-free, the employee said they all did have gluten and they all had cookies in them, which they visibly didn't. Vanilla and chocolate? I don't think she knew what gluten was. So we left empty-handed. Bummer. read more

Llano River Creamery and Kitchen had me at creamery... lol. Seriously! When you walk around Main Street you must pop in and grab something cool for those hot Texas days. After walking across the bridge from the Phoenix Guest Houses, we were ready for a sweet treat. As soon as you see it downtown, you immediately know you are in the right place. The historic building is colorful and enticing. The bright colors and large windows allow you to see the oasis that is waiting for you to walk through the doors. You can just tell this place will be your relief from the sun we love so much. We each enjoyed the AC, friendly people and of course the delectable desserts! We decided on a couple of flavors that had been recommended to us from the locals in the area, Mexican Vanilla and Amaretto Peach Pecan. We loved it! Ice cream is fun..so many interesting flavors...however the food part not so much..bland burgers..and sad sad salad bar...unaccompanied children running all over while their parents are at the bar that is part of eating area...not very clean either read more

The vibe in the creamery is general merchandise store from the early 1900's. The creamery shares a kitchen with Joe's Bar and grill next door. I had the Philly cheese steak sliders which were delicious. There have shuffleboard, darts, and pool tables downstairs. Live music on Saturday's at eight sharp. Friendly folks work and play here. Our party of 10 arrived in waves. 5 of us showed up first and the other 5 20 minutes later. 40 minutes had gone by and one person hadn't received their slider despite everyone having received their food. I went to counter to request a refund on her behalf, during that process the ONE slider was finally done. Woman at the counter went and boxed up the slider. I asked for her to continue with the refund process as 45+ minutes for one slider was unacceptable, considering our entire party, including those that order 20 minutes later received their food. Was told it happens with a small business and "I'm not sure where you're from but where a hometown place" yet we were the only ones ordering food in the building at 1:30 in the afternoon. Continued to ask for refund, and was then told I was being difficult and that she was calling the owner. Unacceptable is the only words. It is very clear they forgot to make an order and the only reasonable resolution would be to refund the person. We will never return. read more
