Those of you who read my reviews know that I am allergic to milk. Why, you might ask, is he reviewing a Dairy Queen? The answer is, I went in for a slush drink, simply fruit juice (lots of sugar) and ice. What I found was they have dairy free and gluten free options. There aren't a lot, but they have some, what I call, "fake ice cream" bars in the freezer case. I had something similar to a Klondike Bar - fake ice cream dipped in dark chocolate on a stick. You know what? I was good. We live about two miles from here and, when I'm at the plaza, I'll stop in again. In the Northwest Suburbs, we need more dairy-free, gluten-free options. Went here in ice cream appreciation day with the wife and kids hoping to have a positive experience. The product was what we ordered and hasn't really changed in years so no issues there. The issue was the service. One senior woman taking orders that couldn't bother with any proper manners. Now she probably grew up with manners but the high school age girls working there may be the reason for the piss poor attitude. No welcome, no how can I help you, and no thank you at the end of the transaction. With five of us there she kept interrupting our order with the total, never asking will that be all or was there anything else. The high schoolers working there I watched give attitude to multiple customers while standing and waiting for our order. One customer said that she didn't order a plane Oreo blizzard that she ordered a mint Oreo blizzard, and the girl behind the counter sighed loud enough to be heard by the exit door across the whole place, shook her head in disgust and in a very angry tone said "I guess I could put mint in there" and then huffed and slammed around to put mint in the blizzard. I'm not sure what they are doing to these employees or why they are so rude and completely disrespectful, but my family and I will not be coming back and would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I'm craving for some ice cream so I went to this place. Since last time I liked the flavour of ice cream I planned to come here again and try another flavour. I tried their Caramel Ice Cream, Cookies and Cream, and Sneaker Flavors. Their Caramel Ice cream was not too sweet and it's perfect for the people who love not too much sweets. Cookies and cream Ice cream were so yummy. It was sweet and so cold. It can remove the heat on my body. Perfect for the summer weather. Lastly, their Sneakers come with a topping. You can choose what topping you want. Its sweet and delicious. All of their ice cream was good. I highly recommend this shop. read more

Downloaded the DQ smartphone app and got a free small Blizzard, yay! I got the Twix flavor which didn't turn out as nice as I had expected, because the caramel bits froze in the soft serve ice cream and became really hard. Oh well, lesson learned for next time. Should have stuck to mint Oreo, lol. The vanilla ice cream was still creamy and yummy, and I guess the hard caramel bits made me slow down and savor my treat more. I liked chewing on the chocolate bits. Plenty of parking in the parking lot and fast and friendly service at 5:30 pm on Wednesday after work. It was little bit hard to turn left onto Algonquin out of the parking lot though, because of all the busy traffic. read more

Another Dairy Queen but with Orange Julius options. This is a good enough reason to give this location a visit as there are only 3 Orange Julius locations in the area. With that said, neither Dairy Queen nor Orange Julius are exactly amazing but they generally provide a reliable source of cold and frozen treats anywhere in the US. The original Orange Julius is pretty refreshing and addictive if you've never given it a try. The Mango Passion smoothie is pretty nice too. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1/5 stars, it deserves 0/5 stars. The people are extremely rude and tend to make multiple mistakes. I am fine with that but when you point their mistakes out they roll their eyes at you and don't even say sorry. There are many places (including other Dairy Queens) where if there is a mistake the employees say sorry and they remake the item for you but this place I can't even describe how furious and mad I was seeing how they treat their customers and what is worse is that I sent my two teenage daughters in there and the employees were hostile to them! That's where it crossed the line this place doesn't deserve their customers and we will not be returning for their ice cream. THIS WAS RIDICULOUS! read more

Walked into this Dairy Queen extremely excited for a refreshing misty. Asked the rude lady for two "misty freezes" and a cup for water and she responded "I can't hear you, BUT OK" so I repeated my order, the cup for water is more of a spoonful of water in a shot glass as she slammed it on the table and gave a terrifying look at us as if to call us poor for not ordering a fountain drink extremely rude and unprofessional. This is not the end of my terrible experience when we were handed our "Misty Freezes" we were shocked to see that it wasn't the refreshing color of regular icees or slushees you'd get anywhere else, it's because it's not, id explain the "misty freezes" as a slushee mixed with sour cream and cottage cheese, A flavor that burns your mouth and leaves you praying for water and brain dead to get the petrifying flavor out of your mouth. Leaves me disappointed with Dairy Queen not only because of the terrible service but also because of this rechid disappointment of a slushee if I could give less then 1 star I'd do so in a heartbeat. read more

I've been coming to this place since I was in the 5th grade so it holds a special place in my heart. It offers all the regular fare in a moderately busy suburban strip mall. In the summertime, this is the place to be around 9:30 pm. The family that runs this place is super sweet and although it can take awhile for your blizzard to come out but the outdoor seating and people watching makes it all worth it. Expect to wait on cool summer nights and on the weekends. read more

New to the area, I find a Dairy Queen in my neighborhood. After a busy day of working of working on the new home, I felt a sandwich and an ice cream treat would be great. I ordered 4 sandwiches and a melt/wrap like thing and 3 ice cream treats. It took the lady 28 minutes to make my sandwiches. She told me they only had one machine and could only do one sandwich at a time? Really? WTH? One machine what is this machine that they only have one. By the time I got home with our meal, a five minute drive, the sandwiches were luke warm at best and super soggy. My husband's banana split was a soupy mess and so were our blizzards. I noticed they didn't hand us our upside down. They would have been free. I may go back to just get some ice cream treats but nothing like a meal to go with it. read more

This was the worst service I have ever had at an ice cream shop, EVER. So they used to make this blizzard, and I asked if they could. Instead of being kind about it, they were defensive and shrewd with me, dismissing my request. I had a list from my friends describing the ice cream itself, and they dismissed that as well.
