I used to come to the Rochelle Park DQ all the time since I used to live in the area. Now that I've moved and discovered the Allendale DQ, Rochelle Park location does not make blizzards the same. Whenever I used to get a blizzard from this location, it would either be too blended or missing items. I wouldn't complain because at the end of the day, icecream is icecream but I wouldn't be happy eating it. Convenient location by GSP but not the best. read more

I actually really enjoy coming to this DQ! The staff is usually HS kids and they do a decent job. The nostalgia associated with this original DQ makes the experience even better! Seeing couples come and sit outside enjoying their ice cream or grandparents with their grand kids reminds me of that time in my life that I wish I had lol. It's just an adorable place with good soft serve and awesome blizzards! I would suggest trying out the cherry slush with soft serve added not blended! So refreshing on a hot summer day or evening. Oh DQ, we go way back! It was such a nice surprise to be driving through Jersey and stumble across this Dairy Queen. I had flashbacks to my childhood in California, hot summers with a frozen blizzard loaded with my favorite candy bars. There was no way I could pass up this opportunity. The location is fairly neat, there is ample parking available and the service is quick. I waited only 5 minutes or so to place an order. The staff was polite and seemed to be enjoying their work which is always a plus. I got some of my favorite Blizzards, Oreo and Butterfinger. You can't wrong with either one. A little goes a long way so don't underestimate how filling these things are. As much as I loved it, I could barely finish the small cup. I can't wait to visit this location again next time I'm in the area. Definitely recommend for a cheap quick treat. read more

This Dairy Queen also has an Orange Julius. If you haven't tried it you need to. It's one of the best orange and fruit juice blends around. Also their smoothies are excellent. This dairy queen always messes up the orders. I have never received a correct order. They just don't know how to listen because they're too busy trying to get it over with so they can go back to hanging out with their co-workers. I'm so disappointed. Been coming here for years. Recently, though, something changed in their soft serve vanilla. Ordered a hot fudge sundae today and got, well, I'm not sure. Maybe frozen yogurt? Several months ago we had the same experience and we chalked it up to "Oops." Guessing they changed the formula to cut costs. The creamy vanilla was always their signature ice cream. It seems like this is a family owned business where the parents put their children to work. I visited the store today and there was a little child and a teen girl working. The little girl was very sweet and tried her best to attend me. The teen girl seems like she does not want to work there. Please do not make this kid work there. She didn't warm up my brownie and was rushing. I don't understand how the brownie was so cold when I heard her put it in the oven. I guess she didn't turn it on. When I ask for my money back ( I don't like to get new food because you don't know what a server may do to it) she said she has to call her manager which I guess was her parents. She gave me my money back with a attitude and arrogantly said sorry about that. She should had done her job right the first time. The store was empty, no customer there was no need to rush my order. I seen many of the humorous Dairy Queen commercials where the actor is illustrating outrageous acts; like he'll start off by saying something like: "At Dairy Queen, we don't stop at good enough... we don't just blow bubbles, we blow bubbles with kittens in them, because at Dairy Queen, good isn't good enough." All Dairy Queens are in New Jersey and other states, there are none in New York, I could have sworn I seen one in Long Island, but I zipped on by that day. This Dairy Queen is just a small little hut right off Route 17 in Jersey. There's no seating and I don't think they serve food. It's just straight up frozen treats. There is a small parking lot. This is only the second Dairy Queen I ever seen and the only one I ever been to. As you walk in, there is just a fridge with take home containers of ice cream and the ordering counter. Was it worth it, yes indeed. I didn't know what to order but I wanted to try Dairy Queen since it is not a local treat. There it stood a huge sign advertising the Triple Chocoholic Blizzard. If you're a chocolate lover like me, you would have ordered it too. It is very sweet and a chocolate lovers dream. Within the chocolate ice cream is fudge, the second are bits of chocolate chunks but these chunks are not tiny, they are decent sizes and they have a good chocolate taste to them. The third merger within the ice cream are truffles, at first I thought these were brownies, regardless, wonderful chunks of more chocolate. On a hot day, melting ice cream makes this sugary treat a sweat sensation. New Yorkers are we missing out, yes a little. read more

Haven't been here in forever but decided to stop in for a blizzard the other day with a friend. I ordered a small vanilla blizzard with strawberries and chocolate hard shell drizzled in. My friend wasn't so happy with his order he got vanilla soft serve ice cream in a waffle bowl with peanut butter sauce and there was only an itty bity plop of ice cream for that large waffle bowl. For the price you pay I would of expected more ice cream as well. The only problem I have with this location is that the location is a bit annoying. When leaving the parking lot you have to go right which points me in the complete wrong direction and have to go through garden state plaza to reroute myself. Unfortunately, a lot of people decide to hang-out in the parking lot for some odd reason. So if you decide to venture down to this place be aware that it may get crowded. I haven't tried Dairy Queen in years, my dashing husband suggested stopping for a bilzzard. Our ice cream artisan, was excited to run through all of the options. Even suggesting we get creative and make up our own. New creations flooded our minds overwhelmed with these new options we needed to step away and collect ourselves. Our artisan assisted the next customer and circled back to us immediately, I went with the Oreo s'mores and my husband created his own cookie dough, Twix mix. The ice cream artisan was thrilled he got to be extra creative suggesting different flavors and opened the door to expansive options of "chocolate syrup." Not personable, dare I say even rude...almost like when you order ice cream, your bothering them and intruding on whatever it is they were doing for the day. I've come to this location for months as we just moved to the area and tonight's visit was my last. A teenager who I'll leave nameless rolls her eyes everytime she takes an order and is downright unpleasant to deal with.
