I visited Cake & Cone off of a strong recommendation from my brother. Unfortunately, my experience was very mid. I ordered a hard shell birthday cake cone and my girlfriend got a cookies & cream shake. The hard shell tasted pretty good but the ice cream inside was already melting when it was given to me. It made for a very messy time and I couldn't enjoy it the way I should have. My girlfriend's shake was ok but the oreo pieces were way too big. The shake was more like a McFlurry or Blizzard rather than a shake. It still tasted great, but if you order a shake you should get a shake. A friend ordered fried Oreos and they were fantastic. I'd definitely get these again. My brother told me their fried Nutter Butters are even better. Service was average as were the prices. My experience wasn't bad enough to completely turn me away, but next time I'll have to try some other things on their menu. read more

This place is my most fav ice-cream place in the area. They get super busy during summer months and in peak winter they are mostly closed. The line moves quickly and even if it doesn't you get the enjoy warm weather while chatting with your friends. Everyone around are happy because it's an ice-cream parlor so the vibe is pretty positive. Their soft serve is good and their hard ice cream is amazing too. Usually we order black cherry or chocolate. They unfortunately don't carry chocolate brownie fudge anymore and have increased their prices a lil bit. This is my all time favorite ice cream shop! Handmade ice cream, fantastic flavors and so many options I could have an anxiety attack. This gem of a shop is right in East Rutherford and has plenty of parking. Also there's a space in the back with little tables to sit and enjoy your favorite delicious sugary treat. I love coming here in the summer, they're open late and I try a new flavor every time. The workers are extremely friendly and hand out samples if you're torn between two flavors. What really makes Cake and Cone stand out is their soft serve. They have some awesome flavors that you really don't see too often for soft serve. Tonight my friend tried the Black Raspberry and it was to die for. On a waffle cone, what more can you ask for? As soon as I walked up to the window I was greeted by the young employee. I needed a minute to look at the menu, but had thoughts about what I wanted. I ordered a cherry dip top cone, my usual at any creamy whip. This one was good , but the ice cream was a little to runny for a perfect ratio of dip top to ice cream.
