Recently I saw that you can order the chocolate dip on the side so I knewww I needed to try it asap. I ordered a regular vanilla ice cream cone with the "chocolate melt" on the side (the one that hardens when it touches ice cream). I forgot what the actual total came out to but I think it's a pretty good deal if you have the time to sit and dip your own ice cream. You get a good amount of chocolate, so you can dip it with every bite. There was no peanuts and hot fudge was not melted it was horrible. Be ware don't go here ever again. The cashier was asleep, or annoyed, or some combination. Zero interaction. He forgot part of our order and seemed perturbed at us that he forgot. The worst part - we ordered and brought it home, including a treat for my wife. My son and wife each got a chocolate ice cream dessert and both said the "ice cream" tasted bad. Like, sour. Met up with a couple of moms and their daughters this afternoon to get together and enjoy ice cream. One of the workers was smoking in the back room. The smell was of burnt rope and skunk - it was over powering - we left and everyone that was enjoying their treat inside cleared out as well; another worker opened the front doors. We were disappointed that it didn't have hamburgers, but we enjoyed hot dog, chocolate dipped cones, and Blizzards -- Oreo and seasonal Pumpkin Pie. Convenient location and ample parking. My wife and I try to watch our calories so we are big fans of your fudge and orange cream bars. We purchased 2 boxes that we ice covered. We ate a few of the bars but ended up throwing the rest away. This is a smaller store so we figured they did not sell many of these bars this time of year and vowed not to buy anything else at this location. We we out shopping and found another DQ location in Chantilly, Virginia. We purchased 3 boxes and were pleased that they were $6.99 per box versus $8.99 at the Herndon location. When we opened the boxes and had a bar, they were more frosty and freezer burned than the others. We contacted the DQ Headquarters and after 2 months, still have not heard back from them. Forget DQ, they obviously do not care about quality control or their customers. read more

The negatives in this particular location are that the place lacks a grill. You can't order much of anything off the menu. The meal-based items are limited and without a grill, there's even less "wiggle room" in your ordering options. In addition, this spot has few choices in birthday celebration sweets as well. In other words, plan to visit for the sundaes and blizzards. However, they do get that right. I've found the staff polite and eager to please. My orders are tasty - keeping in mind, this isn't elegant or fancy fare. The shop itself is clean. The place is small though, so thankfully it's generally not terribly crowded. There is a small outdoor seating option also. If you're in the area and craving DQ, I'd recommend it. The staff here has always been very friendly and provided quick service. The Blizzards are a wonderful treat and the mini size is a great alternative to the "more is better" mentality you find everywhere else. They keep the shop clean and usually have a good game (football, tennis, basketball) on the TV to enjoy while you cool off.
