I visited this place yesterday with my daughter. She had strawberry on a waffle cone. Service: One of the worst that I have had in Virginia. They sit behind a window on a counter which they only open to hand you the ice cream, and take your payment, this is the closest thing that I have seen to an indoor drive thru. No place to sit inside or outside. Ice Cream: This was no different Thant he one you buy at any grocery store, simply put unremarkable. Atmosphere: Non existing, no place to sit, no tables, no high tables, the place was freezing because they intentionally left the door open in the middle of the winter. Newly opened ice cream shop where, ironically, a fitness shop once were! But no worries, this ice cream churns its ice cream daily on site; which makes every bite tastes fresh & creamy! It serves different flavors each day and during my visit I opted for a small (2 scoops) in waffle cone, one of Banana Cream and the other was Cheesecake flavor! Small on a waffle cone comes with 2 large scoops enough to fill in the large opening of the cone and price go up by $1 for next size up so $4.99 (5.99, 6.99) for reg cone or cup, or $5.99 on waffle cone for a small, $6.99 medium & $7.99 large. The Small (2 scoops) was just perfect, I think, to satisfy once crave but if you must, go for more! Profitez de la vie! The Banana Cream I had was surprisingly fresh and light and not too sweet so I prefer it over the much heavier on sweet cheesecake scoop! Eat it on site because it will melt as it was not pre-frozen, hence, made daily on site! I only had those two flavors so far but based on the list I think the Banana Cream will be my preference as most seem to be more decadent, i.e., peanut butter chocolate or rocky road, etc. Staff is youthful, and lively. Perfectly situated seatings outdoor might be best spots for it has enough shade since the store is located end of the building facing east/north! Went here on Sunday night. It was PACKED! And for good reason, the ice cream was excellent. There was a manager or maybe the owner out front making sure any questions were answered. I have a peanut allergy and ordered a Cotton Candy Shake. After a few minutes I was informed that due to how busy they were they couldn't guarantee a peanut-free environment for the shake, and offered to replace with ice cream. I walked into this ice cream shop with high hopes and lactose-fueled dreams. I left a changed person. First, the ice cream was so freezer-burned it had PTSD. I asked for cookie dough, and they gave me something that tasted like drywall and regret. The mint chocolate chip tasted like toothpaste mixed with despair. And not even good toothpaste--the kind from a motel bathroom. Tried to fix it with a waffle cone. It collapsed like my last relationship. Drove by the other day and saw 50 people around the place either waiting to order ice cream or enjoying their ice cream. This place was popping! We came tonight when it wasn't as busy. We've heard of Bruster's before but never tried it. We ordered a couple of kid's cones and some small bowls with scoops of ice cream. All the various flavors we tried were delicious and tasted fresh. Best of all, all the young staff working were super friendly and patient. After handing us our order, the young man even asked if we needed anything else like napkins, spoons, etc. very professional and hard working group of folks. First time here and it was busy! This location has good ample outdoor seating and when you walk in it's a window you order at. I did a pick up order for today for two quarts and waffles. the mint choco chip and coffee chip were soooo good! I love a good old school ice cream than like a jenis. the waffle was individually placed in a plastic container so it was easy to eat from. waffle was perfectly crunch and yummy! really convenient if you decide to do to go order! easy online ordering and place a future order. you can pick up from the separate pick up window. so glad i found Brusters and so many locations in the area! looking forward to come back again! read more

I was greeted by a boy who I believe is named Adam at the register, I asked for some soft serve ice cream, and Adam went on to tell me, " we don't serve that poverty stuff " I was taken aback by this comment, very unprofessional!!!! Recently came to this bruster for some ice cream with my 2 year old daughter, when we walked up to the counter one of the employees i think his name was joel, was yelling at a young boy who looked about 15/16 about somthing, extremely unprofessional, my daughter started crying and we had to leave. Great ice cream! I went on the first day they opened. While waiting in line, the manager was going around and asking if anyone had any questions or needed help. I asked for flavor recommendations and they recommended Graham Central Station. I tried that one along with horchata. I'll be honest, it didn't have much flavor for me. I have been a few times so far and tried a few flavors but I will say horchata is my absolute favorite flavor. Also, the brownie sundae is AMAZING! I enjoy their outdoor seating area with umbrellas to shield you from the sun. They are a little pricey, but overpaying for ice cream on a hot summer day is honestly worth it lol. Went this weekend to finally check this place out. Wasn't overly crowded, price seemed high, but interesting ice cream flavor names. Unfortunately, while waiting in line, never got to the cashier to place my order. Overheard a customer being ridiculed just because he was confused with his order. All he did was asked if this was his order and that his ice cream is not what he thought he ordered. Poor man, he left absolute confused look, and the person in front of he when they got their order, they were complaining one small sad scoop for over 5 bucks, and it really was a small scoop! It was my turn, she didn't even say hello, no friendly smile, looking miserable and angry, I just turn around straight to the door. With rude staff and poor service, no thank you. Ice cream is decent, but it's overpriced and the SLOWEST service ever!!! Every time I've come here, even if I'm the only person there, it takes forever and the teens who work there move at a glacial pace. Last few times I went, it was either just me or maybe one other customer... 4-5 people behind the counter and it took them 15-20 minutes for a basic banana split (3 scoops of ice cream, a banana, whipped cream).
