They work hard to go fast. Love a blizzard. There is no food at this location which is good since i go there for the ice cream.

Definitely not the worst it could be. Everything came out fine. It just looked like the restaurant hadn't been kept up with.

Came in at 7:48 with three kiddos who were excited about getting ice cream and was told they were closed because they were "sold out of ice cream" when their sign says they close at 9:30. read more

This is my favorite place for ice creams and blizzards. They have amazing choices and flavors for blizzard lovers. I prefer Oreo cookie and heath bars blizzards. Love the crunchiness of the oreo cookies in my blizzards. Amazing texture as well. They have different size options that range from mini to large. Trust me their portions are huge. So if you think you don't have a sweet tooth then I would suggest you order mini because it's a good portion. You see the size of cups before you order. So that will give you an idea of what you can expect. Price is very nominal. Ambiance is very casual. Mostly, it's a to-go style restaurant. Definitely worth trying if you are on a road trip and come across DQ on one of your pit stops. read more

My dad and I took my 2 year old son out for a fun ice cream outing. It was very clean inside and the employee was polite and friendly. My son loved his chocolate vanilla twist ice cream with sprinkles. Will be back for another Friday night outing in the future! read more

This was my first to a Dairy Queen location. I decided to have a quick lunch here at this Dairy Queen location before my visit to Spa World several doors down. I enjoyed my $5 lunch special that consisted of a chili hot dog, potato chips, hot fudge sundae, and a bottle water. The Dairy Queen employee provided excellent customer service. Dairy Queen provided an excellent first impression. I am looking forward to dining at other Dairy Queen locations in the future. read more

Came in at 9:15pm on New Years Eve. Dairy Queen site says open til 10, google says open til 10. Door is unlocked, open sign is flashing, lights are on, and a girl is standing at the front waiting to take orders. I walk in and am told in a very rude demeanor that the store has actually closed at 9 and that we need to leave immediately. This wasn't just "oops i was a minute or two late to close the door" (Keep in mind this was 15 minutes after 9). This was a "I don't want to actually serve someone so I told them I was closed". There was quite literally no sign of being closed, and probably just some gruntled employees that are working on NYE trying to not do any work while getting paid. In general, this store opens and closes as it pleases and never answers calls regarding anything including hours. Lots of things for management to get straight while this place is still somehow around. read more

Every time I try and give them a chance they fail again. I wouldn't think asking for a strawberry banana blizzard with extra fruit would be difficult, but every time they charge me for the extra fruit and I don't get any fruit! Zero! Just straight vanilla ice cream. It's very disappointing. Don't bother coming here unless all you want is plain vanilla ice cream. read more

Came back for another Oreo blizzard cake for my sister's birthday! Greeted by the same friendly man who is always there (again, I believe he's the owner). I went in earlier but saw their updated hours--they now open at 1:00 PM but it was no biggy! I just went home and swung by again for the cake. Went in 45 minutes before closing to get some ice cream. A 8 year old boy was playing with a ball behind the counter, and the mother ran to the back, and came back 30 seconds later saying "We close at 9 today, I'm going to ask you to leave" in an extremely rude manner. This typically wouldn't be a problem, but the open sign was still blinking open (15 minutes after they supposedly closed) and the woman appeared to be ready to take an order as well as the door unlocked. In addition they hadn't updated their hours at all, and appeared to pull the hour early close out of the blue. I had called prior and they had refused to answer the phone. The last time I came here, a sulky teenage girl made my ice cream while touching the cone after handling money at the register. This time, a sulky teenage boy came out from the back, didn't wash his hands, touched every inch of the cone, and wiped my husband's cup with a dirty rag sitting on the counter. I have been here twice and eaten my ice cream zero times. I wish I wasn't too polite to make a scene, because God do I wish I could get my money back. I'm never coming here again. read more

We ordered 2 pecan cluster blizzards. I've ordered that's from Dairy Queen for over 20 years. This was the worst one ever. The pecans were old or something. They tasted horrible, not everyone, but every other one. It left a terrible taste and it was both of ours. We ended up just throwing it away. I wish I tasted before leaving the shop. Don't recommend the Mr. Mistys to people. They aren't called Mr. Mistys anymore, and grownups don't like them the same way you remember liking them as a child. I'm pretty sure the same applies for the dipped cones. The last one I had tasted like it was dipped in melted plastic. Stick with plain cones or stuff that sounds good to you as a grown up. Ordered the brownie batter blizzard, which has two ingredients--brownies and brownie batter. The worker took my order, made it, and didn't say anything. After I left, I discovered there was no brownie batter in it. I went back and he told me they don't have brownie batter and have never had it. This was an afternoon snack during our trek home. We stopped and got two medium Smores blizzards. They were made well and I asked for extra mixing which was done. No complaints The Smores - I prefer the Extreme chocolate blizzard - better value IMO. We were still in VA and yet the tax here was only 6% (v. the outrageous 11.5% in the tourist filled Chesapeake and VIrginia Beach area). The girl working the place was very friendly. We used the washroom - it was clean but they were out of soap so we hit the women's washroom (just single doors that stay open until locked). Not a biggie and I mentioned it to the staff. Dairy Queen....mmmmm. I feel like I'd been cheating on DQ with the other, newer places in town (see my fro-yo reviews). Hadn't seen the Queen in awhile, but decided it was time to go back in time for a good old-fashioned ice cream sundae. I've never tried their peanut butter sauce before, but I've certainly enjoyed it when I got it at Nathan's Dairy in Manassas. Decided to get a soft serve vanilla sundae with both caramel AND peanut butter! Feeling decadent I guess. It was excellent! The ice cream was creamy, melty, smooth, soft. The peanut butter sauce was just as good as Nathan's, and the caramel was sticky and gooey like it should be. It was a match made in heaven, and it made me wonder why I keep driving to Manassas and standing in line. when I could go to my old favorite right here in Centreville for practically the same thing? Plus, DQ is open all year round while Nathan's is only open in the summertime. There's still a place in my heart for the others, but DQ, I'm glad I came back to you this evening. read more

If you happen to get one of the personality lacking employees who would obviously rather be anywhere but here, be nice and let the next guest order ahead of you. Very shocked at the lack of professionalism here!! A day prior, I had ordered an 18" Blizzard cake for my mother's birthday and said I'd pick it up the following afternoon. The single employee that was staffed had NO idea what I was talking about and said they didn't have my cake. I'm flexible, so I decided I would pick up some icing at the nearby grocery store and buy one of the generic DQ ice cream cakes they stock in their freezer. When I get back, the employee goes, "oh... I think we do have your cake. It's just... not done." What does that mean!? Apparently no one had bothered to finish putting the cake together. I told him it was fine and I'd decorate it myself. After paying (full price!) for my botched order, I was told I had to wait approximately ten minutes because the cake was apparently still frozen to a metal sheet? Absolutely flabbergasted by the entire experience. If I can help it, I'll never give this location my patronage again. Worst restaurant ever! They had little to no menu options, especially the $5 Lunch which EVERY Dairy Queen is supposed to have. The tiny barbecue sandwich was dry as a bone and had no flavor. They didn't even have fries, just plain potato chips which you didn't even get to choose a flavor! The teenager who made our Blizzards didn't even flip them like a DQ is supposed to do, plus he had an attitude and his ignorant ass needs to be fired. It also looked as though he's stoned. The root beer float is no good. The root beer was fine but the vanilla soft serve (at least I think that's what is was) tasted funky. I'm embarassed to say I've been to DQ twice in my lifetime. I shudder at the thought of ever returning. read more

Ok so it's a Dairy Queen BUT this location is great. The owner is pretty much awesome and managed to sell my boyfriend a blizzard cake. Not only was he convincing in the nicest more polite way but he was very friendly and pretty funny too. We like this place a lot and we'll definitely be back for more ice cream cakes in the future. read more

Went by this Centreville Dairy Queen at 1:57 pm to use the gift card I got for my birthday. The sign says it opens at 12:00 pm, but they were closed. No one was inside and all lights out. Does Dairy Queen close when it gets cold? read more

I guess it is a great place to get a Blizzard, but I was extremely disappointment that there were no burgers or fries. The only food they had was hotdogs and bags of chips. Now I know - I will not be going to that particular DQ again unless its the perfect storm of location and wanting a Blizzard. I like options and this one just doesn't have many. read more

We get ice-cream here fairly regularly. Recently, however, I've noticed a significant decrease in customer service, and what happened a few days ago was the straw that broke the camel's back: We ordered various items (probably 6 total), including a large milkshake, sat down at a table to eat our ice-cream, and as we were eating our ice-cream, I noticed they had charged us for the price of a large Blizzard (like ~$1.30 difference), and so when I went back to the cashier (who I think was the owner), who also helped us earlier, to ask if I could get credited the difference, he said no. He was quite unreasonable, and there were no other customers. I just didn't understand it. I don't really care about the $1.30, but it's the principle of the thing. He gained a $1.30, but lost a customer permanently. I'd go to Sweet Frog or Tropical Smoothie on the other side of 28 before I'll ever go here again. read more
