I learned today that the Taylor Dairy Queen does not honor rewards issued through the official Dairy Queen app and email. I stopped by to redeem a birthday treat that Dairy Queen had sent to me and was only told after placing my order that they would not accept it. What disappointed me most wasn't the policy itself, it was how the situation was handled. When I asked about redeeming the reward, the manager responded with, "We don't honor that. If you want free stuff, try Hutto." The comment felt dismissive and unnecessary, especially when I was simply trying to use a reward that Dairy Queen had provided. The manager made me feel like I was asking for something unreasonable or trying to get "free stuff". In the end, it's my choice not to return, but it was the manager's choice to lose a customer, and my family's business over a birthday treat and a disappointing customer service experience. read more

Busy inside but my order was taken quickly. Got the triple meat burger with cheese and no bun. The staff was courteous . The cashier had a good sense of humor and a friendly smile. The inside was clean even though they were busy. The purple onions on the burger was a nice touch versus yellow or white of most places. A manager walked through the dining room asking customers how their food tasted and if they needed anything. That was a refreshing change to my usual fast food lunch. My burger was good but about average for a burger place. My one complaint would be that the put the cheeseburger on the platter upside down causing the cheese to stick to the paper wrapper and make that slice have to be scrapped off the paper. Don't bother coming here unless you like to be called a liar straight to your face. Not only did we get approached with an order that was very clearly NOT our number but then told we simply didn't hear our number be called. We waited a full 20 minutes before asking about our order number and then be given the same food/items that belonged to THAT previously called number. Not only did I explain to the manager (she approached me) that we were approached with a completely different number a while ago and also by the same lady now handing me 20 minutes old food and saying we never responded to her! First off, I already hate going to this specific DQ because the food is never fresh or even remotely fresh, but it was late and it was just convenient to stop here. After ordering and taking it home, I open the burger to find that there is no burger patty. I call DQ hoping they would just say come back and they will fix it..... They ended up accusing me of lying and the worker said that she personally watched them put the patty on. Nice clean place. I am 66 years old. Been going to this Dairy Queen for over 50 years. That said, I am not going back. This is the second time I have gone to the counter to order and been just left standing. No one is visible in the kitchen area, no one is staffing the counter. One employee was seated at a table eating and talking to another employee, who I believe was not on duty yet as she had just walked in the door. The guy at the table could have said someone would be with me or come to the register to take my order. But, hey, it is a fast food burger joint, why wouldn't a customer want to stand around and wait for someone to take their order? I will say this is not as bad as the last time. There were several employees standing around looking at their phones that day, in full view of me and the counter. One was just a few feet in front of me, but too busy with her phone to take my order. I should have known better. There won't be another time. Dairy Queen located on North Main Street across the street from Sonic has been providing our residents of our communities the best burgers and tacos and steak and chicken tender baskets along with the DQ treats!!! Their blizzards and milk shakes and sundaes and dipped cones are their specialty in adding to your sweet taste after your meal!!! absolutely crap let see where to start, I ordered the #2 combo and asked for crispy fries, no mustard mayo only on the burger, all of the veggie, and here's what I got " a burger with no mayo very little vegetables a sprinkleing of lettuce no tomatoes no pickles no onion, the meat patties were hours old cold and dried out, the fries were half a bag, hours old, cold, and soggy, the soda had no taste, flat and lite ice got me 6 ice cubes, this is the one of the most crappiest restaurants in Taylor tx and friends I've eaten at a lot of places here in Taylor and I must say it's par for the cours, if you want somewhere in Taylor tx to eat all I can say is good luck unless you travel out side or bring your own truly it is a crap shoot!!!!!!!!! read more

I can't count how many times I've waited 20-30 mins for ONE basic combo with one person in front of me at the drive thru. Tonight it was a 30 min wait. The last couple times I've gone by there have been issues with orders. Today people almost backed into me in the drive-thru because they were so frustrated and just wanted to leave. I had to repeat myself at least 5 times to get what I wanted which should have been a straight forward order right off the menu. My order for the second time in a row was wrong. I'd have checked it before leaving but vehicles were stacked up behind me after sitting 15 minutes in line (I timed it) and I just wanted to leave like the people before me. So we stopped here for a quick late lunch before visiting my Grandmother. Loved the typical hometown folks sitting outside selling Booster cards for the local team. Walked into a very clean and well kept restaurant. Bonus points for that. Then while walking up to the counter we hear a man being very rude to the girl manning the register. I was quite proud of the way she handled herself, then as he walked off cursing cause he didn't get his way, a more seasoned employee reminded her that she did everything right. Slow and understaffed. The people there have always been very nice and not messed my order up so I don't feel like its necessarily their fault. Also the person that decided to built this place with the drive-thru right on the main road should have their head examined. Last time I was there a person behind me found it perfectly acceptable to park their car entirely on Main Street and just sit there for god knows how long to wait to order their ice cream. Sad that people place such a high value on ice cream but so little on safety and human life. I'll avoid this place and just get some bluebell next time I'm at the store. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews but had to post an opinion...was in Waco this past weekend and had the brisket street tacos and they were amazing. Full of moist good tasting brisket. Stopped at the Taylor Dairy Queen hoping to get the same thing. Not!! Did get three tacos however all the meat from the three = one Waco taco. Pitiful. Not enough meat to really taste the brisket. Ordered 6 piece chicken meal and 4 piece steak meal with a ice cream cone and a brownie sundae. The drive thru attendant Jesus gave us ice cream within minutes and then we waited 10 minutes for the rest of the order . The half melted ice cream is not the complaint here . Got home realized that we paid for what we ordered but only received 4 chicken piece when we ordered 6 piece chicken strips. Called the store told female employee what Jesus had done and I drove back to DQ. Jesus comes to window and said he will be right back with the two steak strips that he shorted me earlier and I said no it's chicken and then he said oh ok, I wait another 10 minutes. I drove back home gave bag to son and he looks inside and told me it was steak not chicken. I drive back to DQ and Jesus disappears when he saw me drive up . Manager comes to window and she listens to my problem and within minutes has the chicken strips bagged up and out the window to me. I have literally NEVER been in and out of there or through the drive through in less than 25 minutes. Whether I'm ordering food for my whole family or just a soda or ice cream, it always seems like it's something this very understaffed or very lazy staff can't handle. I suggest that if they're going to have you pull around to the front, they take your card or cash after, so that you have the option to leave after spending nearly 40 minutes there like I did tonight. I will absolutely never spend my time or money at this Dairy Queen location again.
