I went to DQ today to grab some quick tacos and was I ever shocked in a great way. As soon as I walked in the door ai was greeted by Mr. Jose Martinez and I have to say that he made my experience there better than most fun dining experiences here in Tyler. He quickly took my order and kept checking with me to be sure that I had everything that I needed. I told him that I forgot to ask for some extra hot sauce and asked him where it was and he said, "I'll get it for you," and he did. One thing I noticed that made me want to come back to this particular location was that he remembered ever single customer's name and addressed them as such each time he spoke to them. It made it feel like I really mattered for him to remember my name. As a result of this, guess what?, I remembered his name and wanted to leave him a review for the above and beyond service he provided. He told me that he had t worked there very long so I want to give kudos to whoever is responsible for getting g him in your team. He was so good that I thought he was actually the manager or perhaps an owner. I am a senior and have managed several businesses in my time and I must say that employees like Jose are a rare breed. Ordered a taco salad and all it was lettuce, sour cream, grilled chicken & tomatoes in the shell. to me that is a grilled chicken salad. I don't no but that $11 in price was a little too much. It was nice that I got a huge sweet tea for only $.50. The girl at the window, I asked specifically if the sour cream and salsa was in there and she said yes, ma'am; went out into the parking lot thank goodness hadn't left yet and got my sour cream. The gentleman was super nice and he even brought the sour cream out to me so I didn't have to stay in the drive thru line. read more

I came here tonight thinking Dairy Queen might have a decent grilled chicken salad. Very disappointed. All the lettuce was iceberg... flavorless. The grilled chicken was rubbery with pieces of fat attached. The tomatoes were mushy and tasted old. Male Employee was nice in drive through. However I will not be returning here. Flavor of the hotdog alone was decent. Not too many places have that. after a long rough day at work, you didn't want to cook . my husband wanted a hamburger and I wanted Mexican food. solution is Dairy Queen. went through drive-thru and ordered burgers, fries and my beef taco salad. I confirmed my taco salad 3 times. it was dark and heavy traffic so my mistake was not checking but the sack looked right. got home, after a 30 minute drive and passed out the food but apparently my taco salad turned into a taco. 1 lousy taco. My experiences at this horrible excuse of a restaurant have prompted me to never set foot in a Dairy Queen ever again. Zero effort is put in the food, and the service and management are worse than that of a landfill. My experiences working at this Dairy Queen have provided me with enough knowledge to know that this particular Dairy Queen is not about serving you food, its about getting their paycheck and getting you out. everything is literally microwaved to make it feel warm, half of the food that is stale is kept and used because, "its too expensive to waste." i was hired hoping i would be working for an amazing company, but I was wrong. it was the largest waste of 9 months, I don't know if ill ever get them back. i have not given Dairy Queen a dime since i left, they dont deserve the dust that's in their freezer. one time i was coring tomatoes in the back, i found a tomato that had a spot of mold on it, so i threw it away. Later my manager brought me the tomato demanding an "explanation." I told him simply that it obviously had mold on it and it would make the customers sick. He told me just to pick it off and move on. I also was in very big trouble with head management for this. since that time i always threw away the tomatoes, or anything for that matter that has mold on it or around it. i highly suggest your cravings take you elsewhere because this place is not a restaurant.
