Grandma's sampler breakfast was very good. We had a great server. It was quite full of people. I'd prefer to return when it's not packed.

I spoke with two managers about this then a corporate representative called me to hear about what happened to me her manager she failed to tell her they had a broken dishwasher and it had to be serviced three times in those past three weeks. They knew that they had a problem and did nothing. I recently found out that all was a lie the real reason I got sick was they gave had a water line issue and our friends grandson had been working on their terrible waterline problems. This is most certainly a health concern for the general public and I am so sick it's been awful so awful I couldn't leave the house awful they're like go to the er I told them I was hugging my bathroom. Anyways I'm slowly moving forward I still get sick every week I end up in the bathroom I'm not sure what that soapy tasting water was I don't know but from now on I'm only drinking bottled water. Shame on Cracker Barrel and shame on trying to buy me off with a stupid gift card I said I didn't want they emailed it to me anyway. I do not recommend this establishment I just can't read more

I was craving some good homemade-style food, so I gave this a try. Had it delivered and it arrived warm, which I appreciated. The turkey was juicy and the gravy hit the spot. The dressing was decent -- not bad, just not the best I've had. The pinto beans, though, were bland and really needed some seasoning. But those cornbread muffins? My Fiance and I decided to go to Cracker Barrel today after it made headlines for the CEO trying to shake things up. Luckily, Cracker Barrel decided to stay the same. We loved the character and atmosphere, which really felt true to Southern Americana. The small store was also very interesting with an eclectic blend of random knick knacks. The menu offers plenty of options, mostly comfort food. I'm giving 4 stars because the service could have been slightly better and the food tasted somewhat bland. Overall though, the price was very good for the amount of food we ordered. read more

First off the store was a fun environment lots of oddities and treats. As for breakfast our server was very kind, prompt and attentive. The food is where the visit lacked luster. The lack of normal breakfast sides ie; regular hash browns, bacon, ham or sausage with out charge was frustrating. And the very slim toast options was sad. The chicken fried steak was good but run of the mill. And I was not a fan of the stuffed hash browns. Might opt to choose some where else for breakfast. We recently had a very bad experience at a Longview TX Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel sent me an online complimentary meal for two. so we decided to try the Tyler/Lindale store since we were in that area. It was like the difference between daylight and darkness. Whereas it took 45 minutes to get a cold meal in Longview TX, it only took 15 minutes to get a hot meal at the Tyler/Lindale one. I still don't think I can bring myself to return to the Longview TX one even though it's much closer to where we live. read more

Terrible service. We waited over 80 minutes to get seated, and nothing! We would see other large parties go ahead of us, and when we asked about our party, they would lie about how many people were ahead of us and place other parties ahead. Food is always good, but my head hurts from how loud the dining area was! Why oh why doesn't Cracker Barrel install sound absorbing material in the ceiling? I come here frequently. This time my server's name was Jackie 3 star. Not happy about her attitude when I asked to see the new chicken and rice on the menu. Not sure what she had against me but after she got done dealing with me I felt like a second class citizen. I will ask for a new waitress next time!! I began to feel uncomfortable, the moment that the hostess (Rhonda) seated me. It was a Wednesday morning, after 9:00 when I arrived. The restaurant was about half full. For some reason, the hostess decided to completely isolate from the rest of the customers. There were plenty of seats in the dining room, but she seats me across the main aisle from the dining room in a corner alone (next to the kitchen). This was a little cubby hole that most restaurants use for storage. I politely changed my seat to the dining room with the rest of the customers and informed the waitress. I sat and watched the hostess escort other patrons to their tables and never once did she offer that table to anyone else. Approximately, 10-12 individuals & groups came in during the time that I was there. Why did she do that? I was the only person of my race at the restaurant during that time. We were quoted 20 minutes when we arrived but it was about 35 minutes. Our waitress was Jackie. All of the wait staff are very harried taking orders and delivering food. We ordered and than 2 of us drank our beverages waiting for the food. When the food came we asked for refills. 10 minutes later we asked another staff member for a refill. I was done eating and my husband was almost done when we finally received a refill. Jackie never checked back on us until it was time to order dessert. We ordered the following: Watermelon lemonade - pretty good Sweet Tea - good Chicken and dumplings - average Chicken fried steak - average Cornbread - awful, dry and tasteless Hashbrown casserole - very good, but 2 clumps of solid pepper Mac and cheese - very good Coca Cola cake ala mode - excellent Strawberry lemon icebox pie - it was ok but served almost frozen, it would have better better at fridge temp At checkout I asked to have the tea and lemonade charges removed since we had refill trouble. The manger agreed but the cashier only removed the sweet tea. It wasn't worth going back in to correct that. I have never asked for that before but those two bites of all pepper in the hashbrowns really needed a beverage. Not recommended. read more

It's really 1 star for food . 3 out of the 4 ppl w/ me felt weird after we ate there. But 2 of us got SICK pretty much food poisoned 20-30 min after we ate there. We both got flushed, stomach discomfort & we're nausea for a good 24hrs. Very disappointed. But 5 stars for staff & environment of the location. Staff was nice & store part was very nice. Chefs need to be trained to handle & or cook food properly. Sadly I will not return again & this was my first there. read more

This evening I brought my 72 year old mother who was wanting to use her gift cards . She wanting to enjoy her a good home cooking meal. Cracker Barrel is known for. She order the fried turkey and I order chicken fried chicken. Both entrees were horrible. The food was over cooked. The gravy looked as if it hadn't been stirred. If you're into a lot of kitchen-like noise while you eat, you'll love Cracker Barrel- any of them, because they were designed poorly. There is non-ending customer conversation which bounces off the hard floor and walls and is much louder than it should be. Dishes clanking, the hostess hollering, the waitress cackling as she loudly semi-drops thick cafe plates onto hard, uncovered tables. This is accompanied by cheap silverware clinking and dropping continually. The rockers out front on the porch suggests that the restaurant is easy-going, relaxing even. It feels, as patrons walk through its over stocked, cluttered country store (the only way in and out) that when a one actually returns to the highway noise, it is a relief from the mild mental execution of the restaurant. I received an email from Cracker Barrel corporate, offering me two complimentary meals after a horrible experience at a different Cracker Barrel location. Cracker Barrel corporate told me I didn't have to print out the complimentary gift card, I could just show the cashier the email attachment on my phone and the cashier could scan the bar code. We stopped at the Tyler Cracker Barrel for dinner. When we ordered, I showed our server the digital card with bar code. She summoned her manager, Michael. Michael flatly refused to honor the digital card. He said he needed a printed paper version. I repeated what corporate told me about the bar code, but he still refused. Talk about adding insult to injury. Our meal was fine and our server took good care of us, but the manager seemed to care less about customer service. read more
