A smaller location but just as convenient as others I've been to. The aisles are a little crowded as a result, but as it's close to home and they have basically everything for ridiculously low prices, I can hardly complain. I usually hate parking in this plaza but with the bigger shops (besides Seafood City) being closed down or dead these days, parking is fairly plentiful. Located in the shopping center off Plaza blvd with many shops near it. Finding a parking spot can be hectic, it is always busy at this shopping center. This Daiso store is small compared to the others I had been to. The staff are always friendly when entering the shop and checking out/leaving the store. It is always clean and aisles are not cluttered, it is a bit cramped. You can find a lot of Knick knacks here and some Sanrio products. They have a small selection of knock off make up. I love this store! This location however could be better. Japanese version of the dollar store. Not exactly the dollar store anymore. Inflation has killed that. Currently prices are running $1.75 an item. But regardless, items here are super cheap. You can find tons of stuff here that you can only find at a Daiso. From drinks, snacks, household items, office items, and then just your random cute items. This is my go to for office items. I always get my pens here. Magnets, sticky tabs, little note pads, I find that they are super cute and unique. Not one of the bigger locations, it's hit or miss on finding what I'm looking for here. Staff is always friendly. Brings reusable bag, a paper bag will cost you $0.22 cents! The parking lot can be insane, it's always crazy busy! read more

If you haven't been to Daiso before, it's basically a Japanese version of Dollar Tree or 99 cents Store. But, they have a lot of different specialty items such as international foods(Ramen, seaweed snacks, candies, etc.), drinks, tableware(chopsticks, sake cups), and Sanrio products. Me and the kids come here for the Pocky snacks, school supplies, and the unique seasonal decorations and accessories; and, today they had Liquid Death - buy 6 and you get a free koozie. Mom likes the extra long shoe horns so she doesn't have to bend down to put her shoes on. I would be amazed if you walked out of here empty-handed. Oh, and all sales are final, so make sure you really want to be stuck with what you bought. read more

Awesome Japanese quality items for a great price! Located In National City directly right next door to Seafood City lays the fabulous Japanese dollar store where I guarantee you just can't buy 1 item! This Daiso is smaller than the other Daiso's but has pretty much everything you need in a smaller store. The price ranges anywhere from $1.50 to $3.00 and maybe $6-$9. They literally have everything here you need for everyday living. They also have refrigerated drinks with plenty of assorted teas, juices, and coffees. I enjoy some really good Japanese jasmine tea and the canned black coffee. They sell assorted instant ramens ranging from miso, shoyu, and have udon noodles as well! They sell curry packs and also Japanese condiments like salad dressings and tonkatsu sauce. My personal favorite is the salt and black pepper mix where they also sell the refill packs if you previously owned a shaker. They have a huge variety of chips and snacks and also kewpie salad dressings! They sell all types of chips with unique tasty flavors and crackers as well. For the snacks they have a lot of flavored pocky and caramel corn and a huge selection of candy for those sweet tooth lovers. Enough for the goodies lets talk about everything else they sell. This place literally has everything you need from kitchen appliances, cleaning gear, and office use. The bowls and plates and Tupperware is the star of the show! You cant beat the deals they have for them as well as the bowls and plates they have to offer. The kitchen appliances are the best and very useful. There are also seasonal items such for spring they have garden items, and for Halloween and Christmas. They also sell kid mask with Japanese characters on them. Overall awesome place to do some shopping for everyday living but beware when you come in this store I'm pretty sure you will leave with more than you expected! This is my favorite store! I just love Daiso and started a new 'gotta check out all nearby Daiso' stores! Disney, Hello Kitty and all his friends! If you can think of the weirdest thing you may need, it's at Daiso. If I think it hasn't been created, it's at Daiso. This store in particular had more Disney than the last one I was at, and it even had stainless steel Disney flatware! From painting to cleaning, it's here. And, the staff was so pleasant at the checkout counter which just made our first experience there a memorable one. This is a new must when I'm in National City. :) read more

Hmmm, yeah. Not the best Daiso out there, but can only put so many things in such a small location.....I do appreciate the staff's effort on filling the space as much as they can though lol. If you've never been into a Daiso, it's a Japan-centric store with an extensive variety of things, such as snacks, kitchenware, glassware, stationary, gift bags, etc. For those who are into cute Japanese stuff, Daiso is one of the most dangerous stores you'll ever encounter as most of the stuff here is kawaii-fied lol. General shoppers can really enjoy this place also as most of the stuff here is $1.50 (granted the quality of the stuff, especially the kitchenware, might be questionable but hey you get what you paid for). I've been scouring thrift stores for small ceramic bowls for cat food, when it dawned on me, that I could probably find them at Daiso. I stopped into this location on the way back from an appointment to see if they had a different selection of small ceramic bowls than the Kearny Mesa Store. It's much smaller than the Kearny Mesa store, but they had what I wanted, I bought two of each design, and now I'll have to go to the Mira Mesa store to see what kind of selection they have. Went there for their grand opening event at their newest location in National City and purchased over $35.00 and got to spin their prize wheel. It was a wonderful experience. Came here looking for oyster shuckers which they had store was clean, practices social distancing and wore masks and ask that each individual do the same. They have snacks and drinks as well towards the front of the store. Fairly new Daiso located in the same plaza as Seafood City and Goldilocks in National City. If you don't know what Daiso is, it's pretty much the Asian Dollar Tree except it's $1.50 with the exception of a few items. I stopped by with my friend after dinner this past week. I like how this Daiso carries some stuff that other stores don't have even though this location is pretty small. They sell Rilakkuma items here! I am a regular customer here at Daiso National City. Every time I go there are something new items that I bought. So happy & enjoyed shopping here. Until one day a cashier named Roma or Rama I don't remember was very rude. I said hi but she just ignored me. So I said you should smile especially you are in the cashier roll. You should be friendly but when I said don't you even smile to the customers? She said no. Oh I was shocked about her answer. When I am done paying she did not even say have a great day! Nice place to find cool stuff at a decent price. Really cant go wrong with Daiso. Went shopping for stuff I really don't need, but still cant pass up good deals. Great place to buy little gifts for family, friends, co-workers, etc. Most items are 1.50 or some items are clearly labeled. Overall a cool place to buy things at a working mans price. The place is clean and still brand new. Its crowded in here and wish the aisles were a bit wider. The employees are cheerful here. Also the lines went fast and the cashiers were also polite. Not much to say about this Daiso but that they even have more stuff than the other Daisos I've been to! Everything is of course very affordable since most items are $1.50 and up. You will find everything you need, or don't need and will still buy haha! Also very convenient that I don't have to drive miles now just to go to Daiso in Convoy since it's now much closer to home :) Only thing is that parking can be a little tricky to find, especially since this parking lot is always packed! I've been going to Daiso for years and I'm so happy they've finally opened one in National City! It's definitely my favorite dollar store because I'm a sucker for cute things and they have almost everything you might need, which is especially great for prospective college students in need of necessities for their dorms. I noticed that this location has a lot of things that aren't found at the Kearny Mesa or Mira Mesa locations, which is a plus! They always have new items on their shelves, which is why I keep coming back pretty much weekly. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming! My only issue is that the store is quite small and parking can be a struggle, so be warned! Other than that, if you've never been to a Daiso, I highly recommend you stop by this location! read more
