I went to Nordstrom Rack Plaza Bonita last week in search of birthday gift for my boss. I was having such a hard time because there were so many great options, wallets at great rates, shoes travel bags, I ended up choosing a pair of Crocs. Crocs are one of my go to errands shoes so I'd figure he'd love it. I even went searching for things for me and there are so many options for women's shoes, I wanted to be good so I opted not buying any BUT I did get a cute pair of earrings and a candle totaling up to $15, what a steal, the Crocs were under $35 which was also a great deal. When I got to the cashwrap I looked all all the travel trinkets and snacks which is a really smart thing to do, the cashiers were super nice and made the experience fast and efficient. Definitely coming back, especially during a clear the racks, they had so many clearance items! read more

Stopped by to check out their shoe department but ended up buying more than I expected. The store has a great selection of items, but I found it extremely difficult to shop, and unfortunately, I'll most likely never return--for the following reasons: First, the shoe department was a complete mess. Each section is supposed to be organized by size and clearly labeled, but in reality, it was a chaotic mix. I found sizes ranging from 5 to 11 all crammed into the size 7 section. It was frustrating and honestly exhausting to search through. Second, I was followed around the store by a tall man with a strange hair braid--I'm assuming he was Loss Prevention--but he made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I don't mind security doing their job, but following someone like a shadow without cause is invasive and unnecessary. And finally, the staff were unwelcoming, especially the so-called manager. A man with glasses and a beard, who appeared antisocial and uninterested. He spent most of his time on his phone. When I asked for help finding a different size in a pair of jeans, his repeated "No, no, it's not possible" response made it very clear he didn't want to be bothered. It's disappointing to see such a large store, filled with great merchandise, being run so poorly--especially under someone with such a negative attitude. This store is probably the worst Nordstrom Rack ever. They exhibit no true customer service skills. I was returning items that they could not find in their systems due to the fact that no receipts came with my online order. I asked if they could call the Nordstrom Rack 800 number because they said they could not help me without a receipt and the items would not come up with my phone numbers. I have been a cardholder for over 30 years. One thing Norstrom was always know for was customer service. I won't be shopping online anymore since they have made it too difficult. I have mobility issues and trying to find handicap parking is just too hard. I would not leave the store until I was assisted. I asked for the 800 number got the rep online who talked to customer service in the store. Thank God for the nice gentleman at the 800 number who was very professional and helped me resolve my returns. read more

I went to return a few items I bought over 6o days ago. Life got in the way. Nordstrom used to be a lot better than this. I have been shopping at Nordstrom and the rack since the early 90's and policies and quality have changed. The reason for the exchange is the quality of the item. Very different from the pictures on the site and frankly cheap looking material. Synthetics. Despite some of the items still being available, they would not return them or offer a store credit. Items had the tags and were in impeccable conditi. I'm going to reconsider shopping online in the future. I was also forced to look up each order number and email instead of them being able to locate the item with tags and my phone number. There are more stores Off Fifth Saks, TJ Maxx...and while their policies might be the same, if they looked up the account, they would see the amount of purchases I have made. It would seem in this situation that a manager's discretion should have more of impact versus blanket policy. read more

This is kinda hidden in the mall. I like it as it is very open shapes like a big box with no hidden angles. This is good for parents with children. Prices are very competitive and I like their shoe section. I've seen prices as low as 70 percent off for brand name a shoes from Italy. They have a little of everything and even a nice luggage section. Never had an issue with cleanliness or cluttered isles. Of course the women's section has the biggest selection of clothes. The employees are always friendly and I've never had any issues with pricing. Quick tip. If you see something get it right away or it can be gone with the needy customer. read more

This Rack was just a bit smaller than other 2 locations I had visited in the past, they had less stocks, less clearances, missing a lot of brands. Yet I managed to find some stuffs that I could actually buy here, for example a Duchamp London sling bag for $38 after taxes, original price tag was about $80, not a bad deal, but I also checked on their website, same price and I just saved my shipping cost for that. I understand that it's more than just a hit and miss, but maybe the less foot traffic at this location made it harder to get more stuffs in, lucky I could replace my old Champion sling, I was unable to get a True Religion crossbody, but Duchamp should be fine. Felt like randomly shopping at a wash down Ross, but as long as you come at the right time, you might find something you wanted. read more

Good service is greatly needed here!!! I can put up with the messy, disorganized store. I can even put up with the fact that many of the shoes aren't matched up and are strewn around the aisles, but I can't stand poor customer service and not understanding that not everyone is okay with their potential purchases being dragged across the floor by an employee...one, in particular does this. The older, heavier-set woman working the fitting room likes to drag your clothes on the floor on the way to your room and steps on them. When I pointed it out, she told me it was fine. Unfortunately, this isn't the first incident. Yesterday (10/3/24), I had a few long dresses to try on. I tried to pick up the ends so they wouldn't drag the floor, but she told me to let go and then proceeded to drag them on the floor!? She was just not cool with me supporting the dresses, so they wouldn't touch the floor....like, why!?!? After I purchased an item that was too short to drag on the floor, I tried to speak with the manager regarding this, but the manager just looked at me unsympathetically and didn't say one word. I had to keep asking her if she wouldn't mind saying something to the attendant, and she blankly said yes, but in a way that was meant to pacify me...so here I am on YELP. Come on guys...some of these designer dresses are super expensive. I don't think the company wants their employees to lessen the chance of them being purchased because they were stepped on and dirty, right? I should have stuck to the Mission Valley location. If you like cluttered spaces while you shop, this is the place for you. Everything here is scattered and it's hard to find something specific unless you have 3 hours to look around. I think if you come earlier in the day it might be a little cleaner, but after half the day has passed everything just gets tossed around. We can here to look for last minute Christmas gifts. Found a couple things, but when we saw the line to pay we put it back on the shelf and left. Don't get me wrong though, I've found some really good deals here in the past. read more

This one is my favorite. Yeah the Mission Valley location has more stuff but they have higher price points for the same damn shirts, makeup, etc. and I'm never sure as to why. This location may be frequented by local ratchets and bourgeois TJ peeps but I always come up on accessories and outfits here. I have a huge compliment. I tried to return an item I bought just last night at this location. Unfortunately it didn't fit well so I decided to come back & return it. I kept tht bad & receipt. Unfortunately I was unaware that in order for them to accept the return the price tag has to be attached (I unfortunately cut it off, but did keep it in my bag upon return with tht item & recept). They told me the return policy is printed in the back of their receipt. But when I checked it was printed very faintly so it was hard to see. So they basically said I can't return it exchange my item at all with no exceptions. Needless to say, I'm very upset because I've never heard of this before in other retail stores. Usually some exception of return was always done especially after talking with a manager. Being told I was stuck with an item I can't use is unacceptable. PLEASE change your policy Nordstrom. And make your return & exchange policy clear verbally & on your receipts clear so everyone can understand. read more

I'm need to update my review. I like shopping here because they do have some nice items. I only buy from the clearance rack when it comes to clothing. The pants are way too expensive still but I do find some cute tops here. The makeup selection can be good sometimes. I have bought a few makeup items here. You really have to thrift shop here. I am guilty of having a credit card here but I try and pay it down anytime I buy stuff. My daughter wanted a stuffed animal so I got it for her. I also bought a Urban Decay eye shadow palette. Very nice colors and not swatched. The lady at the register asked me if I checked it to make sure it wasn't swatched. I always check. It was good. So many nice items but I try to save money when I can. I have also bought shoes here for my daughter. Great quality. Descent location which is inside Plaza Bonita mall. Returning of the merchandise was hassle free with great customer service. Situated on 2nd floor above pizza restaurant and across J.C. Penney. For a Nordstrom Rack, this location is pretty small. They have quite a number of brands available; but, good luck in finding your size. I only visit this place when I need to return something. Occasionally, I'll find a good deal on something I need. The store itself is kept fairly clean, except for the shoe section. But, no major complaints. Plenty of dressing room space, if you want to try on clothes. Only other gripe is the lack of a dedicated online return cashier. Otherwise, the staff is pretty friendly, even when there are hordes of customers waiting to purchase their goods. read more

I found this little gem years ago and love coming here because it's smaller and less crowded. I always find off the beaten track goodies that other rack stores wouldn't carry like $6.99 tennis shoes that were originally $44. I returned several items the other day & had an issue with one of the items. I planned on coming back because I didn't think it could be resolved over the phone but took a chance & was really WOWED!!! From the operator, to the gal who transferred me to Abbey, CSR, the experience was absolutely incredible. I was handled like royalty. I've worked in retail & customer service for decades & I've always handled clients with the utmost care so I was really impressed with how Abbey went above and beyond to help me. I always find good deals from my fave brands from 60-70% off price clearance from jewelry, purses, shoes, cosmetics etc. Well , I come here almost everyday to find some good deals from MK, Nike, Lacoste, Free people , CK, Joe's and Paige jeans. Sometimes ToryBurch and Kate spade . Of course I don't want to really pay the full price. Today is my lucky day Kate spade is one of my fave brand found a black cat eye shades for $65 love the Bling bling ! Original price was almost $180. I also bought here my Kate spade earrings and necklace for half the price. Can't beat those deals. If you shop online free shipping, free returns anytime. Okay, after 1005 times here i hate it! My wife drags me here screaming and kicking. After about 35 minutes here I finally settle down and she sends to the men's section to find a shirt or something that I cannot live without. I always end up finding a pretty good deal. Today i found a Shakira T-Shirt for a great price so I bought 2 of them (one for a friend). I hate to buy stuff unless i really need it but this place makes me buy stuff i never dreamed I needed. The prices are okay, no give aways but the quality is worth it when you really check out the products. I guess i have saved thousands of dollars I would have never needed to spend, does this make sense? Oh well overall this place us well stocked and unless you count the 2 hour long lines during covid they ate pretty organized and get you in and out quickly. Unless you are married to someone like my wife who can spend three hours shopping here and only buying four items! Oh well somehow i am saving money or so I am told. I was with here with a friend planning to return some items that we had purchased from Nordstrom Rack La Jolla just a few days earlier. We were planning to exchange items my friend had found that fit her better. When at checkout the clerk ( Angel) inspected the item for several minutes before going to a manager to call her over. The manager explained that due to the shoes condition it could not be returned. The shoe we were looking to return was only worn once and immediately upon trying it on was found to be the incorrect size. We explained to the manager that the condition of the shoe was the same as how we purchased it. She would decline us being able to return the shoe and claimed that returns had to be to the same Nordstrom rack. Afterwards we found out this was a bold faced lie by the manager and according to policy of Nordstrom Rack returns are accepted at any Nordstrom Rack as long as it's within 30 days. The manager continued to deny our exchange at one point saying "we would never sell you a shoe in this condition because we wouldn't feel right selling it" Again after pointing out that "we" did sell meaning Nordstrom Rack sold it to us just days before. It was one of the worst managerial exchanges I have ever had. Just a manager trying to kiss *ss to management and hold her store to higher standards by lying point blank to customers. I see why the store already has a 2.5 star rating as I'm writing this review and I'm convinced it's because of the manager in charge. I'd name drop her name as well had I got it. Never going to this Nordstrom Rack again and I advise anyone else the same unless you appreciate terrible customer service. read more

My wife came in yesterday to return some boots that didn't fit. These were purchased for her as a gift. She then did the return and received a gift card with the funds of the return loaded on the card. When she came home and tried using the card online it turns out the return was done completely wrong. She then had to drive all the way back to the store this morning. Only to find out that they had actually returned the money back to the original card of the original person who bought them for her. Now, feelings are hurt of the person who got her the boots and my wife obviously can't just ask for the money because that is rude and ridiculous. When she spoke to the manager there, the manager just said "sorry", she then turned around and got back to whatever thing she was doing. Screw this place and screw management who can't do something for someone who was absolutely wronged by their incompetence. Will be sending a letter to management. read more

Big question! Does anyone work at this store?? Christmas is over! A store should never ever be unkept like this store..even it is Christmas, especially with the Nordstrom name attached to it. Please view my photos of the children's shoe department. How would they be able to sell anything when the store looks like a 9.1 hit it! I went to the RACK in La Jolla at Christmas time and the store was in good order. I took my photos and immediately left. This was just too ghetto for me and I myself can be a hood rat from time to time. I took photos and hauled ass out of here. Maybe it's because this one is in the hood but the selection is always lacking! I recently have been looking for business attire and ended up here since it is close to home.  I finally found a pair of slacks in my size, sadly when I got home I noticed a bunch of strings sticking out.  It was horribly made and I was bummed.  The people there are nice but busy because the store is constantly tore up.  This is why we can't have nice things.  The prices aren't any different from the one in Mission Valley.  Actually the tax is higher in National City so the prices are a little more.  From now on I think I will spend the extra gas money and go to the Nordstrom Rack in Mission Valley.  Plus it's close to Jazmin's house and I can get in some Jaz time! read more

Although this is the smaller Nordstrom Rack, it does have some good stuff. You mostly score when it comes to shoes. I never have the patience to look through clothes, but this store is much more organized so sometimes I feel brave. Their service lacks just like every other Nordstrom in existence these days. First visit at this location, my wife and I normally shop at the Mission Valley location. I can say its more organized and much more tided up then Mission Valley and for the men's selection they both had about the same items on stock. Costumer service has helpful. read more

Thought this was a decent store at first but after two really bad experiences checking out I honestly don't want to shop there anymore. Nords Rack is trying really hard to be 'hip' and use a check out system using an iPhone and is unnecessary and time consuming. With 6 perfectly functioning registers and a system (or maybe employees) that can't seem to figure it out, it is kind of embarrassing they still try. The selection doesn't compare to Mission Valley.. I'd just skip out on this one, even if the line is long it always balances out with 6+ cashiers instead of two who can't seem to figure out how to scan an item. Skip this store. read more

Nice place to find some quality stuff. Mainly clothing and shoes. I walked around to see if I can find some deals. My girlfriend was able to find a nice jacket. She mentioned it was a great price for the quality of jacket. The items were organized with the size of clothing or shoe size. Only bummer was finding big man size clothes. I like to wear 2x size clothes since I have wide shoulders and incredible hulk size arms. I was not able to find much of selection for me. Overall the place is clean and the employees were nice. There is absolutely no reason why the Shoe Department in this store still looks this way. Especially after it was reported in a Yelp review ten months ago and the social media team reported that they notified the management team. Hopefully no one ever breaks their neck, but if they do, Nordstrom Rack would have a hard time proving that they had no idea this was a problem. I came here for the first time yesterday. I love this nordstrom rack. Its quieter, more organized, cleaner, and has a much better selection than the mission valley location. They had a big Free People selection (which is one of my favorite brands) with lots of choice on sizes and colors. The clearance section was AMAZING. I found a black free people skirt for only $14, an alternative apparel dress for $8, and a simple blue cotton bp dress for $8. Oh and I found a pumpkin color Marc Jacobs dress for $39. WHAT?! I was high on discount shopping, I was in there for about 2 hours and it only felt like 30 minutes. They have super friendly employees, especially the womans assistant manager, Ines. She helped me find exactly what I needed with a smile. Also a fantastic lingerie section that was organized by color, brand and size which made is so much easier to look through!! Ignore these negative reviews. No coach bags? Who cares. I would rather have Marc Jacobs, valentino, or any of the other better brands at great deals. And the iphone thing is a new idea so it will take some people time to get used to I'm sure, I have no problem with it. Help save a tree and get your receipt emailed to you!
