There is a sizable fitness section towards the middle of the store, if you're looking to bulk up your home gym or practice (pun intended). Generally speaking, TJ Maxx/clothes/beauty is on the left when you enter and HomeGoods/decor/furniture is on the right. It's a combined line though, and I don't know why but it's the most brightly lit I've ever seen a checkout. This place is massive, TJ Maxx and home goods combined with some high end designer clothes. It's crowded, the lines are long, and parking sucks at lunch times and probably after work, be prepared. Know what the numbers mean on the tags to avoid clothes made for TJ max and find the discounts on real brand deals. This place does have some great deals if you can avoid the distractions. They have a ton of purses and luggage too if you have time to dig. The home goods section is huge too! It is over filled so you do have to be cautious and avoid breaking stuff. Make sure all items are in tact before leaving. Overall same as any other location. The line can get long. Even when they have a lot of staff you'll wait 15-30 minutes to check out, avoid lunch time to shop if you're in a rush. I've found some good stuff here, I like to shop for little gifts for people and I'll definitely be back.

Many of the items that he supers don't want end up here. Nothing wrong with that but it means that there is not the consistency of items You can't count on some of the items you're buying today will be there tomorrow. On the good part is that it's often at a great prices. For example, I just bought a bottle of antibacterial Dawn Dish liquid for $3.99 bit is $6.99 at the supers. They had an extra large bag (1.5#) of Lindt Dark Chocolate truffles for $9.99, retail is $17.99 but I first noticed it in on the shelves 30 days before the best buy date. So I ended up at Costco and bought the same product for $12.99 with a BB date over a year later. (But it's a major hassle to shop at Costco unless you're buying other items!). Their Simply products are new and great, I've had their pasta and sauces and eggs. Their bread selection is fairly fresh, and the Sourdough Bread fro San Luis is $5.00, over a dollar more at the supers. I like their Orowheat Keto bread, and artisan breads for much cheaper than supers. Milk products which include lactose free milk are all fresh but some of the yogurt, cream cheese, cottage cheese may have short (less than 1 week) expiration dates. Fruits and vegetables are hit and miss. While plantain bananas are a cheap 99 cents a pound, many of their produce items are not so fresh. But some deals are great, like $2.00 for a cantaloupe or mini watermelon when in season. They have the usual veggies including bagged salads which are fresh and a little cheaper than supers. Meats are also hit and miss but many items are cheaper than supers. However, most of their steaks are not graded (i.s. Choice cuts) and marbling on the steaks are rarely good except for the tougher cuts like tri tip steaks. (brine these in salt overnight and they're good the next day). Lots of chicken, including whole chicken and pork. One thing you'll notice is that it's a rarity that their cashiers - who are mostly young - have the happy chatty cashiers like at Trader Joe's. That's a minor detail They had a management change earlier this year and overall the stocks are much better filled and the store is cleaner.

We ended up finding a small anime/manga branded notebook as a future gift, with the single employee being helpful and very pleasant to talk to converse with. With 250 stores in the U.S., 108 in California (with 10 just within 10 miles of Long Beach), Miniso (a made up word, trying to evoke an idea of minimalism Japanese) is rapidly growing in the U.S. It's symbol is very similar to Uniqlo, it sells product similar to Muji, and tries to provide value like Daiso. Was curious if any copyright infringement cases have been brought in the U.S. but nothing popped out.

Don't be confused by their Japanese inspired items - Miniso is actually owned by a Chinese company, and because of this, some of their things are cheaper than similar Hello Kitty items you may find at Sanrio. The best time to shop at Miniso is when they have sales or clearance items. They mark down their prices by a lot! Miniso can now be found at most malls and shopping centers in our area. However, I feel the entrance and layout of the Irvine store is a bit different than the other locations I've visited. Upon walking in, the aisles are very narrow. It is not easy to get inside or exit out of the store if there's people standing in the front. The store itself is very clean and organized. The staff didn't really acknowledge any of the customers - they all just looked bored. Surprisingly, my daughter did not find anything that she liked and we thankfully walked out empty handed. :)

They've been around for awhile and have their established sources for discounted items. The stuff they carry is truly unique in today's market. It's not the overstock merchandise you see from large retailers like Amazon. In fact, their business model has been probably around longer than Amazon's mega footprint. We need to keep these mom & pop stores! I needed a a poop bag holder for our dog's leash. They had several to choose from. I didn't expect to find high quality men's skincare products. Their pricing is a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. I stocked up! I bought a handful of other things too. These impulse purchases will come in handy. If you see something you want you have to buy it as they won't restock from the back and often it's a one or two of a kind item. Many items are amazon returns and store close outs - some name brand and some unknown or store brands. You often have to read the white tag on the box as they are taped shut. If you want to see something in a box just ask the staff, they generally will open it for you. I get many of my health products there - like antacids, cold/allergy, hair dye, and anti-aging skin care. Cleaning products and every kind of miscellaneous household good that you can imagine - it's there, or it was there last week! Food is a gamble - check the expiration dates. Check the prices online compare before you buy- most are great, but some are not - but that's part of the fun of the hunt at Wesco - finding the deals! Closed on Mondays - limited hours on Sunday.
