SERVICE: I was seated quickly, given gracious service and attention and had a smooth experience. The food comes out quickly and the servers move quickly to keep everything harmonious. THE FOOD: although a smaller portion than anticipated, i enjoyed the plating and the appetizers. The soup was classic and the salad was fantastic! The dressing is perfect and the vegetables crunchy! The fried rice and noodles were a bit underwhelming, more oil than I'm used to and the vegetables were overcooked. The salmon was tender and melts in the mouth. Skin on. Got into Lakeland a bit late but still needed supper. This came up on Yelp and was an easy walk from the Terrace. Sign out front says it is under new management. The Daisy use to be call Tsunami. Huge bar and large restaurant. Nice interior with a mix of typical Asian art and visit colors with cool led lights for accents. I rally came for a roll or two but Jacki suggested I try Pho. I had never tried so we discussed it and I chose this with the shrimp. It came with a fish sauce which was delicious and then Jacki recommended I try it with some Hoisin sauce. Wow! Awesome. Me and some coworkers came here for a going away lunch, and the service and food was incredible! We were immediately sat, and given menus. Our waitress was super nice and answered all of our questions. I got one of the sushi lunch combos, and it was a TON of food. First, the location is perfect. It's very nice next to the park that you can walk around after dinner. They have the fish tank bar which is a fun gimmick. However, the service was.... Weird. Idk how else to describe it. First, we put our name down with the hostess and she said it would be about 10 - 15 minutes. We are in the waiting area right in front of her view for about 25 minutes. It's like she forgot about us somehow? No tables had left or moved, but there were so many empty tables, so after waiting, I went to the hostess to ask her if we would be seated soon. She says "oh!" And then immediately seats us??? The server was really awkward and didn't know anything about the menu as well. He kept saying he couldn't help us because he was new. Idk, it was an odd experience. Tsunami is a great spot in Downtown Lakeland FL that has sushi, Hibachi, and other great food. It's a must try if you're in the area.

Great option for lunch as a vegan, but only on Thursdays and Fridays. This location is closed Monday through Wednesday for lunch hour. I had the vegan ramen with extra tofu again, it's the only thing I've ever tried here actually. The tofu add on is $5 but it's a good size portion. Parking downtown is tight but Manageable around lunchtime. In the evenings I imagine it's a little bit worse. My one complaint is the front door. The door is incredibly heavy and hard to open, this causes air pressure changes in the restaurant. The pressure changes were giving me a headache and ear pain every time someone opened the door. This is enough to keep me from visiting again. read more

Their homemade bloody. Mary's are really great. The crab rangoons there are really crab, not just cream cheese in them. We'll have to try out the hibachi next time. I'm a local Lakelander and I honestly wish I had gone here more since opening, it was a 10/10 experience. Out of the 3 rolls we shared, I'd have to say the Hawaiian roll was by far my favorite- honestly, I would rank it in my top ten of all time. Also, our waitress was such an amazing person. Visited Tsunami sushi last night and had an incredible meal. I only order Sashimi and many restaurants fail to provide adequate proportions that are satisfying . I'm selective about sushi restaurants and before going out reviewed restaurants photos online to make my selection. I selected Tsunami because I have eaten there before and Lakeland Fl does not have many strong competing Japanese restaurants . The bigger names serve low quality fish , small cuts and fish isn't ice cold. Tsunami was perfection. The sakè was hot and great quality , very tasty and the sushi chef for the evening, named Henry prepared a gorgeous and proper presentation of fish . I was so pleased , I spoke with him as I left the restaurant . The atmosphere nice and was updated since my last visit . The restaurant wasn't busy and it was raining outside so it made for a cozy experience . My server Astor was pleasant and very hospitable, making the experience complete. read more

Amazing! Yummy! Fresh and great prices! The service was great and they accommodated 17 of us without a reservation (sorry) and the quality of service and professionalism was outstanding! Don't be fooled by the ambiance because it looks dark and slightly dive-barish, but it's great for dates, families and groups. Check it out and enjoy! Came here randomly after being in the area. The sushi was tasty and the service was great, albeit there was not a lot of people dining at 3pm. The Kiss Me app was the BEST thing I had here, so I would highly recommend it if you like sashimi. It had a strong ginger flavor but wasn't overwhelming. I loved the aquarium bar they had, the place was really cool on the inside. The main problem was that the sushi rolls were $10-15. I wasn't sure what I wanted for dinner so I just drove to downtown Lakeland. I saw Tsunami and thought it sounded good. Beware the door is hard to open. First off they have a very cool, very long bar/aquarium. I sat at the bar. It is a little hard the sit at but it is still really cool. I ordered Pinot Grigio with crab Rangoon. Both were perfect. Great Sushi spot in Downtown Lakeland! They have any type of sushi you could possibly want. I wanted to try the hibachi and I was not disappointed. Their white sauce is so delicious. It was a ton of food so I have left overs too. The kids PB&J sushi was so cute for my little one, she thought she was eating just like mommy and daddy. We even took some extra rolls to go and the presentation was still beautiful. The restaurant has the worlds largest aquarium bar which is super cool. This was a great spur of the moment date spot! We got sat immediately and noticed the bar is actually a wrap around fish tank, which was really neat to see. I ordered a Drunken Flower which was delicious and my husband got a Kirin which was good. We split an order of gyoza which came out hot and was flavorful! My husband ordered a Mexico roll and a dynamite roll. The Mexico roll was great and the dynamite roll wasn't bad, however my husband didn't care for something in the mayo. I ordered the NY strip hibachi which came with a ginger salad and soup we shared, and obviously a ton of food which came home with us. Everything with the hibachi was fantastic, and came with ginger sauce and yum yum sauce. I've yet to order something I don't love!! Hien, the main sushi chef is incredible. The entire small staff is great. It important to note that the staff is very small, as is this very popular restaurant. There is typically a wait, but that wait is well worth it!! I'd have to say over all this place is just ok. The soup that all our meals came with was the miso soup and no one at our table liked it, no one ate it. The ginger salad it dame with was good though. The crab Rangoon was AMAZING one of the best I've ever had. You could actually taste the sweet crab in it and not just a bunch of cream cheese. The dumplings were good as well, nothing special but we all liked them. I ordered the sushi number 2 lunch combo that came with the scorpion roll and Florida roll, they were good but not my fav only because I do not like the rolls with fried stuff, I'd prefer raw sushi. Also it said it had cream cheese in the scorpion roll but there was barley any in like 2 of the rolls and the rest had none. My con worker got the Maki lunch combo which came with a phili roll and tempura roll. The seaweed in the Phili roll was very chewy but had a great amount of cream cheese. The tempura roll was fried and it was my friends favorite of all but she still didn't love it. The ramen was absolutely awful. It literally tasted like pork, veggies and noodles in water. It had NO flavor. My friend and I literally did not eat it. I told the waitress once and she said she would let them know in the back, when she came back to the table to ask about checks she said who's check is the ramen going on. I asked her did you let them know in the back the ramen was awful and she said I'll do that now. She came back with a man that had an attitude because we didn't like it and tried to argue with me saying I've never had the miso broth before because they all taste like water... not true. We finally got them to take it off the bill. One more thing, my other co worker ordered a shrimp tempura roll but received a crab tempura roll. When she asked about what was in it the waitress said shredded shrimp lol. I said there is no way that is shrimp, it is red and white. It then took about 20 mins to get her correct roll. read more

The front looks very hole in the wall but the place is huge and well laid out. Very nice interior and good lighting. Not too loud with plenty of options for where to sit (tables, hibachi bar, sushi bar). Food was great overall, the soup was a little weak compared to the absolutely amazing ginger dressing on the salad. The sushi was fresh and tasty and they are open to changing orders around for preference/allergies and the staff is knowledgeable of the menu enough to make good recommendations on something you are looking for. The hibachi was fabulous and a huge portion. Steak was perfectly cooked and a great cut, you get a nice serving of vegetables (not just a plate of onions like some places), soba noodles and fried rice. It looks like they have an extensive drink menu and my mom tells me the wine is great. Great experience overall with good parking options nearby. read more

In Lakeland for a few days, and we decided to check out the downtown. Looking for a place to have lunch, we came across Tsunami Sushi. We were greeted right away and seated promptly. We ordered an appetizer of shrimp shumai and a bento box to share. We enjoy sushi, so it doesn't take more than a few bites to decide if it's up to par. The food came out hot. For the last experience, I thought I would just order on Uber Eats to avoid the horrible service. The sushi was even worse than the service this time. I've traveled from the Maine to Washington State and needless to say I've eaten a ton of different foods and have had lots of different experiences.
