I have been going to Gary off and on for a few years now. Unfortunately, I will no longer return. A good hair dresser will listen to their client and he failed to do so. I also showed a few pictures of the type of highlights I was looking for and based on my end results they were clearly overlooked. I came in with light blonde highlights and asked him to tone my highlights down and remove some brassiness I had in my roots. He ended up dying my roots cherry red and all my highlights were completely gone!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!! When I questioned it, he then asked his assistant to cover the red with dark brown. I'm now left with three different tones in my hair!!! Super dark roots with red undertone and my hair tips light brown. It will also be very hard to remove the red from my hair in the future. Big waste of my time and money for the terrible job!! read more

If I could give zero I would. I waited two hours for a simple brown dye refresh. Had an appointment for 11am...I walked out at 1:05pm because no one was helping me and just left me at a sink for 35 minutes. First two men (Gerry and some other dude) rush putting dye on my hair...and left hair dye all over my face. Then after leaving my dye for over an hour they take me to a sink for a rinse and put conditioner and said wait 5 minutes. 35 minutes late r I walked out because they had been working on other peoples hair dye that came in after me I'm getting married in two weeks. I have no idea how they have decent reviews. But I should have know it was crap from the location. Worst service of my life read more

Gary and his assistant are A-mazing! I walk in there with my hair thrashed and I end up looking like a model when I walk out! REally, no joke! He makes me feel like a million dollars! Due to my work schedule, my roots get pretty bad and my curly hair can get quite awful. He does miracles on my hair. I may have to wait a little, as he's always quite busy, but it doesn't matter, because he's THAT GOOD! He takes his time, but I always end up looking fabulous! Weaves, cuts, styles...all great. As for the service, always awesome. As I'm waiting, I'll get asked..."Can I get you something else?, How 'bout some water, or I can go next door and get you something if you're hungry". i waited until the end of the day to really reflect on what happened to see if i still wanted to write this, but the way Gary behaved with me was downright DISRESPECTFUL, CONDESCENDING, and RUDE even after i had been his customer for what would've been a year today. don't be fooled by the friendly customer service facade, i genuinely thought we were close and friends because of our conversations but now i find myself banned! i understand hairstylists lose money if an appointment is missed and it's frustrating, that's why i wanted to pay double for what would've been my next appointment which was supposed to be TODAY (they booked me for last week) but instead they got upset with me when i voiced i was disappointed and upset because my birthday was coming up and they were all booked... even though they didn't communicate the day right. PS. WHEN YOU SAY NEXT WEEK WEDNESDAY ON A SUNDAY, THAT MEANS NEXT WEEK. NOT THE WEDNESDAY OF THIS WEEK i can't fault them for their work, it's good for the cheap price but not enough to be so arrogant and pretentious lol so overall, if you want good and cheap but unprofessional, uncommunicative, and ALWAYS late (an hour minimum, it's ridiculous even when i brought a friend to get his hair done too) then come here! read more

Yesterday, 4/16/2024, had an appt w/Gerry at Daisy's Beauty Salon at 6:30 pm, which I scheduled 1 week ago. It was my 1st time at his beauty salon. I was a bit scared, and nearly cancelled cuz last few times at other salons left me thinking, "I will NEVER EVER go to a beauty salon again!!!" Thing is, I have curly hair and its difficult finding someone that knows how to cut currly hair. Anyway, I did make it to my appt and went in to see Gerry for just a trim. Gerry's assistant, Cesar, greeted me and washed my hair. He had a good vibe and he quickly made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He seated me so Gerry could do his magic, and boy did he! Gerry greeted me and offered me something to drink. He is not only highly professional, he did a super great job! He trimmed and shaped my hair nicely. 1st person a saw today complimented me on my hair (that hasn't happened in such a looonnng time). Will definitely be going back to Gerry again. read more

I've been going to Gary for 20 years! I love his work. My hair always looks amazing. Almost 15 years ago I asked him to cut my hair short and until this day, I continue cutting it short. It looks trendy, I love it. I drive from east La to whittier just to cut my hair. My entire family goes to him. Professionally Gary is great! He continues taking classes to improve his skills! I've gone once before to Gary and it was great , I recently made an appointment 4 months after to get another trim. Before then ive never really went to a salon to get my haircuts so it was very different to me. I missed the appointment I had with him but still showed up a couple of hrs later. I wasn't aware, and like I said before that I've never really gone to a salon. He talked to me so disrespectful and in front of all his customers that the next time I should call because I'm just wasting his time and I don't know what else he was saying, I ignored him once he started to act rude and payed attention to his lovely coworker which was super sweet to me unlike him. Gary has been my family's hairdresser for more years than I can count. I recently started going to him myself over the past year since moving to the LA area and I will let no one else touch my hair!! He is a hair God send! If you're looking to get the best hair cut and style job of your life look no further. He always transforms my hair into red carpet ready and even better the cut is always one that maintains the look for weeks after I walk out of the salon. Plus he's SO fast! Everyone else I've gone to always takes 1.5 - 2 hours to cut and style my hair, Gary has me in and out of his chair within 30 minutes looking incredible. Extremely talented and such good company too! What a disappointment!! I had an appointment at 2 with Juan Carlos who was recommended to me from a friend. I got there at 2 and was told by another hairdresser that he was running late. So at 3, I asked how much longer. They all looked at me as if they didn't even know someone was waiting for him. It was then that I was told that he wouldn't be able to help me for at least another 30-40 minutes. Mind you, it wasn't Juan Carlos that was informing me about all of this, it was always another hairdresser. I guess he was too busy to even look up and apologize for making me wait so long! So another hairdresser offered to do my hair which I accepted. It was a huge mistake! She was very nice, but has no business cutting hair. Needless to say, it was a disaster. Juan Carlos' customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It would not have taken even a minute to come to me and explain everything himself. He could hear all the conversations, it's not a big place. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!! read more

Gary is an excellent guy who knows very well how to run a business, he is friendly and polite and all his coworkers are great as well. they are always busy, specially weekends sometimes I have to wait longer than I expected but it is worth it! that is why I never miss my appointment! Manuel is my hairstylist, I love the way he does my hair every time I go, I trust him that much that I always tell him, "do whatever you want to do" and the result is always amazing! Juan Carlos is the absolute best. He cuts amazingly well. Everytime I leave I get so many compliments on my cut and on my color and the funny part is, I don't even dye my hair. LOL. I usually only get a trim but I always leave him feeling like a million bucks. I have followed him for years, he's super talented. I can't say I like this salon though. I went in to get an emergency hair-cut (last minute) and Juan Carlos wasn't there and I was tossed around from stylist to stylist until one of them finally "took one for the team" and cut my hair. I was left in the shampoo seat for 20 minutes while they discussed what they wanted to do about me only feet away. Finally, one guy came out and cut my hair, quickly, didn't do a great job and charged me $10 more than what I pay with Juan Carlos. That'll teach me to not make an appointment with my usual person. I learned a huge lesson that day. I might even consider going elsewhere just because I was so bothered by the way I was treated by my regular guy's co-workers. I hope he knows how their lack of professionalism is affecting his clients. read more
