I've always had a great experience; pleasant helpful staff, well-kept facility. I really need to…read moreget there more often.

I wish I could give a better score for this place but the bad outweighs the good. Let me say that…read morethere are some nice, helpful guys that work here but my experience today solidified the negative experiences I have had over the last month. First experience was I signed up for an intro to pistol class on June 23rd and was in the store when the trainer called to cancel stating that the range had flooded so the class was cancelled. I know things happen so I went ahead and rescheduled for two weeks in the future for Tuesday July 7th 2026. And the young man behind the counter that evening was so nice and helpful that I decided to reschedule. The trainer for that class was a jerk!! I am a marksman with the M16 and I used to carry a .36 for work about 30 years ago. I was nervous when we got on the range as it had been a while and IT'S A GUN. He was snotty and rude when I asked him for help. Then he proceeded to make fun of me and said "Weren't you listening in the class?!?" An absolute jerk. I was not happy to say the least but in my mind I thought I would avoid his classes in the future and never have to see him again. So I proceeded to sign up for the $30 a month membership fee so I could practice and obtain my license to carry at some point. Since that class on June 7th I have been there three times (today would have been the fourth.) I had experienced great customer service and helpful gentleman behind the rental counter. Last Saturday July 11th the men behind the counter were very nice and helpful and I learned alot from them. I go by myself and use the members lane simply because I don't know anyone that is interested in shooting and I started this hobby as a form of personal protection so it was amazing all the things I learned on this day in particular. I recently applied for my permit to purchase and was planning on buying a 9mm from this establishment. Now today Sunday July 19th 2026 in the morning shortly after opening, I went in to rent once again as I have been doing without issue. I stood at the rental counter and watched two young men messing with a rifle pointing it and talking and stood there waiting for someone to help me so I could rent a pistol. One young boy stood facing me and completely ignoring me. I waited and finally the short blonde boy at the register asked if I needed help which I replied, "Yes that is why I'm standing here." Come to find out that I need a permit to carry/ purchase, my own gun or someone with me. This makes total sense to me but up until this point nobody has asked for these things and I have rented without issue. The tall blonde boy says, "We don't want you to off yourself." Ummmmm...who tf says that?!?! I'm like omg wtf is happening?!?! I decided to cancel my membership as I realized that this place is not following their own rules and apparently they just rent to anyone with only an ID. How scary is that?!?! There are plenty of places to go in Minnesota so I'll take my money elsewhere. As a consumer I just want to give an honest review of what I've experienced here. I would recommend checking out other ranges before coming here. I will be cancelling and getting my money back for the permit to carry class as well and taking it elsewhere. There are plenty of places to go in Minnesota. I came to Yelp to leave this review because they blocked all/any 1 star reviews on Google.

Out of business??…read more After purchasing two groupons for the concealed carry hybrid class, I registered for the range time to complete the course. I thought something seemed amiss when there was a single site for range time, and it was unavailable for 3 months. Given that this was a "hybrid" (online/in-person) class, I figured it'd be easy to wrap up the video and get to the range and renew my permit... That was silly of me. Apparently, this is a self-paced hunting class... You have to hunt for the online course, which is NOWHERE on the site, and THEN you get to hunt for the instructors/owners to determine if you can get any sort of support. I tracked down every lead I could find, and I decided that the class sucked because... I never DID find anyone to answer my questions. Emails? Ha! Phone numbers? I tried 5 of them that I tracked down; no answers or returned calls. To add to that, Groupon extends the class informally. When you ask for a refund, you are magically offered two paths: take groupon bucks (as worthless as this voucher), OR choose the dark path and try to be enough of a PITA to get your original payment refunded. As this was the third groupon I've bought for a business that very stealthily exited (even the BBB lists them as OOB) WHILE their groupon was STILL BEING SOLD... TBH, I should have known better, but I want to believe the best in people. Apparently, Groupon is out to teach consumers that is complete folly and your faith in humanity is better checked at the door. Current status: STILL hunting for a response from Groupon on a refund. I have refused "groupon bucks" a number of times, unless someone knows if there is a third world dicatator-state that uses them as currency? That's a better option than buying another groupon; at least I can bet the dictator will still be in power when I want to exchange my "bucks". Overall, this was ridiculous, and Midwest Carry Academy is a sham. Don't do it. Two Groupons for carry class: $90 Time spent hunting for some contact: 3 weeks Complete destruction of faith in humanity: Priceless

Terrible. They don'treturn calls or emails. Carry permit factory. Scary range practiceincluded…read morewhere you are next to people who don't know how to handle a gun safely and there's no oversight. Someonewill eventually get hurt. Ridiculous.
