When I first booked this hotel, it was with a lot of mixed thoughts. Websites such as Expedia, travelocity, and Hotels.com gave this hotel a high rating (8.5) but Yelp did not. Yelp is an honest opinion from customers that money or business cannot influence. After a lot of thought I went ahead and booked a room for the night but did it with apprehension. (After all, you get what you pay for.) Well. . . I think it was the nicest hotel we have stayed in on our trip so far (3 hotels and counting). There is some wear and tear on the building. Most of that was evidenced in the hallways with the carpets looking kind of faded/dingy. Walls needed a new coat of paint, or repair due to slight bulging in areas, etc. The room we stayed in was very nice. The beds were comfortable and clean. There were several large bath towels in the bathroom and it was decorated with dark browns and greens. It looked like it had been updated not too long ago. The water in the shower was nice and hot. We did not use the pool area but it looked like fun. There were play structures in the wading pool section and a 2 story slide sticking out of the building. It isn't far off the freeway, and it is close to the airport. Now for the bad: When we checked in, the counter person was friendly, but she REALLY NEEDED HELP! There was a constant stream of people wanting to check in and the phone was ringing off the hook. We got our room key and when we walked in, we realized someone else was already checked in. There was luggage on the table and chairs. We went back downstairs and the poor girl had to figure out what had happened. (While answering phones and checking in a long line of people). She gave us another room and ran up herself to make sure it was ok. We dropped off our luggage and as we were leaving for dinner, someone who checked in after us was sitting on the luggage cart out in the hall. She said they were given the keys but the room still had unmade beds and wet towels on the floor. We checked in at 7 PM. There was no excuse for this. I used to work in the hotel business and know that we would leave the room which needed to be serviced, open. As we walked down the hall, there were several rooms that were open and garbage bags were left in the hallways. This all was the worst of the stay. There were other cosmetic type of thing such as rust on the towel rack next to the shower. And we couldn't get the TV to work. The breakfast menu was average with biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, muffins, cereal, and juices or milk to drink. I loved the way the breakfast room was decorated!

When i booked the room the front desk lady was nice and helpful. When the night shift came on she called me and was very rude and already entered my room and was upset cause there was two dogs which we stated whenbooking into hotel. And i showed the paperwork for on that he is service dog and paid the fee. We never signed a paper when filling booking in. But she had no reason to be rude about their mistake of not charging. I was booked into room 153 and at 10pm at night the front desk lady saw me walking to smoke outside she walked right past me. At this time she decided to knock on my door and walk in saying room check to my four minor children. And she removed them all from the room saying we were kicked out for the smell of weed. Which there was no smell of weed and the kids were all sleeping. How do u remove children from a room knowing they did nothing wrong and there was no weed in room what so ever. This was a joke removing minor children when I went outside to smoke and have police remove us with complete lies. This was wrong especially entering my room twice and treating us with disrespectfulness. There was dogs barking in hall and the hotel pool was closed when we rented it for the pool options ...very terrible experience all together

And place the is over $80 a night should not have cockroaches and this place does. The room smells awful all the time and I have no idea why. There was a stench of marijuana in the hallway (that might not be the lodges issue but still note worthy) Aside from that the people are great. When you ask for a wake up call a person actually calls you and the first night I was there I slept through the wake up call and the staff came to my door to wake me. That, to me, shows that this hotel cares for its patrons.

Had a nice time. Clean rooms. Double queen beds. Used the spa and pool. They also have an indoor water slide for the kids. Free decent breakfast with sausage, powdered eggs, gravy with meat in it, Waffles, etc. NO BACON. Multiple entries is nice. Free wifi.

We were coming in for a wedding and encouraged other guests to book here too. It is easy to get to and from the airport. We took an uber (short drive) but the hotel does have a shuttle if you arrange it. We learned that lyft has more drivers than uber in this area if that is helpful to anyone. Things we loved: - the add on during booking was worth it (strawberries and champagne) - the kitchenette area is not tiny - I love the non slip floor in the bathroom and shower. The look of it and the functionality. please link me, I need this floor at home! - mattress comfy - very clean rooms, robes presented on beds very nice touch. - dimming lights Staff are nice and they have a little coffee breakfast nook with goodies by front desk as well. This location is very walkable to go get a burger or breakfast sandwich down the street too. Super bonus is the treasury restaurant inside the hotel through the safe door. We are suckers for history and a swanky atmosphere. I wouldn't want to park here - it is a tight lot. Even the Ubers and Lyfts have trouble getting in and out because it is narrow. I mean people do, I just personally would not. Thanks for the wonderful stay. If we have to come back to Sioux Falls we won't be staying anywhere else but here.

We didnt know they had a shuttle service which made things so much more convenient. My hubs coordinated with the hotel and they had our room decorated with rose petals and NA champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a small cake in the fridge waiting for us. It was so cute! The only gripping we had was not having a closet to store our things for the weekend but other than that the room was great and our bed was extremely comfortable, like a nice toasty cloud.

Check in and out was fast and easy…read more Hotel room was clean and tidy. But they didn't have any disposable cups or body lotion. Beds were firm and clean and we had a great night's sleep. Noise from our next door visitors did wake us in the morning, and this isn't the most sound proofed building. But pretty much expected as it was true in most other locations as well. Shower was tub-less, and spotless. But during the shower, the water dripped right on top of the metal basin at the foot of the shower where water drained. This is totally fine, except that it made such loud water dripping sounds during my shower that I was annoyed. I like playing music when i shower, and the dripping noise was quite distracting. Breakfast was clean and well maintained. I saw the guy working behind the scenes as he checked on coffee levels and refilled food. While he didn't interact with customers, he was working efficiently. Everything was super fresh. I love all the Le Creuset pans they use for hot breakfast items.

However, I think…read moresenior management needs more of a sense of urgency to address some annoying items that negatively impact the guest experience. I am staying at the hotel for six nights and one of the two elevators has been broken for my entire stay. So wait times are long at peak demand times. Second, the laundry machines are out of order- Apparently "waiting for a part". This is an amenity that I count on- so very annoying. After asking 3 times, I did not get maid service on the day it was supposed to happen. I arrived back at my room at 6:30 PM exhausted and no maid service. The maids were still working and cheerfully attended to my room. Apparently staffing shortfalls were the issue. Finally, the breakfasts are understaffed. There is only one very hard working individual attempting to replenish the buffet, clear the tables, handle guest requests etc. So once peak demand starts- trays can run empty and staff are too busy to refill them promptly. One day I finally gave up waiting for the hash browns to be replenished. Minor item but part of an annoying pattern of service shortfalls. It's not the staff on the ground- they are excellent- it's management decisions to shave costs that seem to be the culprit.

It doesn't hurt that it's a bit off the man drag. So overall I would say pretty solid construction. The parking lot is generous with okay lighting, but the hotel is in a decent area so I wouldn't anticipate too many issues here. The girl working the desk was pleasant and helpful in pointing out nearby places to eat. The only real downside was the price. Almost $300 for a one night stay! I get that it's nice, but it's not the Ritz. My wallet says Ouch!!

We have now settled in on this StayBridge (not the one at the mall which we have tried in the past) as our 'go to' place to stay. For us the location is solid - can get to the highway and downtown easily. Ample parking even when the hotel is full (which it was for most of our week long stay). The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms, hallway and parking lot are all clean. The breakfast changes daily - always has an egg dish, a breakfast meat, carb choices (including you can make waffles), fruit, yogurt and juice, soda or coffee. The small exercise room is fine - 3 cardio machines plus dumbbells. The small pool looked fine (we didn't go in). The building is solid - so we didn't hear hallway traffic or the people aboe or below us. The price is appropriate. Biggest 'complaint' - the dishwasher had way too much rust in it - that should be reviewed and fixed )we were on a 2 bedroom suite). We have already booked our next stay!
