Stop into Dale Bagels yesterday for a quick bite to eat. The bagels are soft & delicious. Not heavy at all.

We Stopped by Dales Bagel for a quick breakfast bagel. I was pleasantly surprised how soft & delicious the bagels are. The Store is narrow and packed with stuff & very crowded.

    Bagel galore!

Bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel with a small coffee for $3.50. This is what keeps me coming back. One of the cheapest places to get that anymore these days in NYC. They also have so many different bagels to pick from (everything, onion, garlic, sesame, egg, pumpernickel, etc.) so that's also a plus. My only complaint is that the bagels are very doughy. They keep sticking to the back of my front teeth with each bite. That just really bugs me. They stick on pretty snugly too. Swishing with water doesn't dislodge them, and I don't want to be sticking my fingers into my mouth during my subway ride. I know eating is not allowed on the train, but that's what true New Yorkers do! Service here is usually pretty quick. It can get pretty busy, but the employees do their best to get everyone in and out in a timely fashion. My biggest gripe with this place is how they have their pastries just sitting out in the open on the counter, mouth level with customers. I pity the people that actually order them and get a whole lot of customer snot and saliva with it. How is the health department ok with this?!

    a package of cheese

I was so disappointed I bought a pre packed American cheese it was 6 months expired and the fresh mozzarella was MESS! Also the store is very dirty. Also awful customer service.

The bagel bins. French Toast bagels were on top, their aroma wafting through the shop.. Delicious! Regret not grabbing one..

Although this is called Dale's Bagels, it is more like a deli, that does bagels.. But they do them well!! The everything bagel I had was just as others described.. Little crusty, chewey, yet not heavy or light.. Perfect.. I added fried eggs and turkey, black pepper to it, and it was delicious..

Sad bagel with egg and ham for $3.50

I don't even like bagels, but these ones are soft and chewy and really delicious.

Unbelievable lack of quality control. The moment I opened the foil, it smelled completely burnt,…read moreand as you can see in the photo, half the bagel is completely charred black. It's baffling that a kitchen would wrap this up and serve it. I tried calling to fix the issue, but the phone just rings out. Horrible food and zero customer service. Never again!

As far as the customer service goes I wish it was a bit better. The staff aren't the most pleasant. No good morning no acknowledgement of comprehending what you order they just walk away and start the order. Which is why I double check always. I do notice they speak more pleasantly to other customers that come in. Not sure if it's a culture thing or could they be discriminatory but it's a bit unsettling. Food: 3.8/5 I only order the poppy seed bagel and that's pretty tasty. Not to doughy although I do have them take out a good portion of the bread because I like it to be extremely thin. Service: 3 /5 Service needs major improvements , language barriers are also a major factor to consider as they do speak Spanish and their primary language. Ambiance: 3/5 Standard & basic bagel shop set up. Standing & waiting area is basic they have counter tops should you want to stand inside and eat nothing fancy. They do have a wide variety of drinks to choose from and coffee and tea.

I asked for their advice on what kind of lox to order and they cut me a healthy slice to try of each. And the lox is to die for. The nova is the classic, but also got some gravlax and the pastrami lox. All had their unique flavors that were distinctly different. Amazing! And yes ~$60/pound is expensive, but it's artisan, hand carved and they even cut out the little bit of blood line so every bit is perfect. It's worth the splurge every once in a while. I will say though the bagels there were just meh unfortunately. Kinda average and on this day below average if you ask me. So ideal...get your bagel somewhere else like Bagel Pub or Utopia and then get your lox here!

It was about a 20 minute wait from enter the shop, grabbing a ticket, waiting for your number to be called, ordering the sandwich, getting the food and paying. Waiting for your number to be called happens faster than you think as people do drop out like flies, so just be patient. If you order yourself a Classic Bagel & Lox Sandwich ($17) like I did, you can watch them filet the salmon fresh from the fish itself to be used just for your sandwich. I did everything bagel and choose Scallion cream cheese, which seems like the popular choice. It's good enough to go out of the way to try once in your life. To be a repeat customer, idk if I want to wait in line for this every weekend. Additionally, there's no seating besides the benches that's outside. I do have to give it to them, among the chaos, the employee that helped me was super friendly. I also saw some of the customers get salmon samples of the salmon for the lox. Idk if they asked or the employee just happened to be offering it.

It's a pretty spacious bagel spot with ample seating menu's with pricing for all items they sell which is helpful. Food: 3/5 I ordered a jalapeño bagel with turkey bacon, and scrambled eggs. The bagel was okay nothing to rave about your standard bagel. Nothing to make me fave about it. The texture was chewy and a bit doughy if you like your bagels that texture this may be the spot for you. Overall my bagel was about 10-12$ I believe. They charge extra for a rainbow bagel and other specialty bagels like jalapeño. Which is pretty expensive so make sure you're aware of that. Service: 3/5 The customer service was mediocre. The guy at the front wasn't the most pleasant. Very much get you in an out top of place. They weren't rude but not the most cheerful I'd say. Ambiance: 3/5 standers bagel shop nothing really impressive or spectacular. I will say when in the area due to the lack of places to eat that make REAL food. I have come back here and the bagels have been decent. Would like the staff to be more pleasant.
