The staff always serve you in a very unpleasant manner and look like they don't want to be there or aren't happy working--which is really sad for such an amazing place. I went on a whim looking for something sweet and I came to the right place. I ordered the tres leches milkshake (surprisingly it was not too sweet, it was just right) and my nephew ordered the elote which he loved. Cute little Spanish bakery and treat shop! We've gone three times now as the little cheesecake pie dessert has my daughter in a chokehold, lol. It's pretty good but not the same type of sweet you would expect from cheesecake type dessert. We also tried a pastry/bread with a Bavarian cream filling, the filling was good but I wasn't impressed with the pastry (I prefer the breads/pastries from the Spanish bakery on Midlo) but the tres leches cup here was really good (all that you'd imagine it to be). Nice place for a quick coffee and light creamy dessert. Half of place is restaurant other half is grocery store. They get quite busy! There's ice cream, cakes, coffee and also some savory Mexican dishes available. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There's inside seating and also outside tables with benches! We stopped by around 6pm and they were busy, lots of families with children having ice cream! We got our orders and went outside to sit! Flan was good, not overly sweet and maybe a bit bland but Nutella cheesecake was sweet and rich if a bit dense but my daughter loved it! My latte was meh, wouldn't order it again. Oreo roll was light fluffy cake rolled with Oreo whipped cream - very nice, not heavy at all. Napoleon was tasty, I loved cream filling and crispy filo layeres. Seriously love the variety Dalias has to offer . She really has everything and more in an ice cream shop. The flavors are so inventive and the variety is amazing. From traditional Mexican candy to homemade popsicle, piñata, stuff to fill the piñata, ice cream, sorbet,aqua fresa, and the list goes on . I tried the tamarind and guava which was both amazing! She also had a tequila and rum raisin which I'll have to try next time. I ended up with a mangoneada which was sweet, salty, and sour. It was huge so I froze the leftovers and ate it the next day. I can tell she uses real fruit and not just juice in her ice cream . You can literally see the chunks of fruit she uses in her popsicles. No juices or powders here! read more

The Food, well, the ice cream's delightful, the snacks bring backmemories from my childhood, and the Pan dulce is so good! The ambiance, same with shellys in the outside, but once you're inside, it looks so cute which is different from shellys. The service, well, you can get a lot of stuff and they will let you pay for the things and then you can either sit inside or outside, or you can leave. This place is super cool! They have almost every fun thing a child could ask for: candy, ice cream, and other amazing treats. Super easy location for parking and super nice servers. I unfortunately only go for two things the elote and ice cream. I've tried the tamales once, and they hit the spot just right. A simple snack with green salsa. The elote is the best crack around. Love, love, LOVE this place. Upon entering the store, we were promptly greeted with warm smiles and greetings - already an instant win in my book. There only seemed to be one person there that spoke English but she was very patient, answering our many questions as this was our first time here, even with a small line of customers behind us. She allowed us to try as many samples as we wanted before making our decision as we were overwhelmed (it's a good thing!) with lots of delicious choices. My BIL ended up getting two scoops of ice cream (bubble gum abs cotton candy) - he loved both flavors. My sister got the mangonada - which came with 2 scoops of their mango ice cream, fresh mangos, their chili and chamoy sauce and a tamarind straw. I think the person who made hers was a little heavy handed on the chamoy sauce as it was unbearably sour and overpowered the fresh mangos and tastiness of the mango ice cream. We did a little "sour dance" after every bite. Despite it being extremely sour, you could tell that the mangos were fresh and the ice cream was delicious (we tried to scoop them without the chamoy sauce). I got the frutas aquas frescas - it's kind of like an icy smoothie. It was delicious; light, refreshing and not too sweet. The mixed fruit cake with papaya, apples, melons and a bunch of other fruits she named that I can't remember. Keep in mind that they don't have all of the ice cream flavors on their menu nor the aquas frescas as they rotate them every week (I originally wanted the avocado ice cream and the watermelon aquas frescas but they didn't have either). Dalia's was closest for dessert, so I stopped by with my boyfriend, and picked out a slice of cake (Angel Tier cake I think it was?) and a scoop of Coffee ice cream to enjoy with it. They were both so good, we thoroughly enjoyed them. The ice cream is super thick and creamy, and the cake was fresh, light, creamy, and flavorful. I would love to come back here for my birthday next week- I haven't had dessert this good in Richmond! There was also tons of pastries that looked to be popular. Dalia's is hands down the best! My husband found this place when we first moved to VA and we go every week. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I had a ton of questions about what was in this one and what was on that one the first couple of times we went in. I went in there on Sunday morning and it was not very busy, a few patrons sitting down. Being that Id never been there before, the cashier told me to use the tongs and a pan to put my purchases on. There is a wall of bins that hold the pastries to choose from. I bought 2 custard donuts, a twist donut and a long pastry roll that was about 10 inches long. One of the problems was the long roll was in a bin close to the floor. when I went to grab it with the tongs it broke in half and fell on the floor. It made a little mess, so i told one of the ladies who was holding a broom that I made a mess and was sorry. When I told the cashier, I had showed her on my pan that it fell on the floor so she could throw it away. However, instead she put it in a bag, like I was going to take it home and eat it. Eww! Thing is, I did not see a price list, if there was one. I was charged 9.00 for my 3 donuts. So was I charged for the one on floor? I could not even tell you. If they were fantastic donuts, I would not of minded as much the high price, however when I took a bite out of the twist it was dry and seemed like it was days old. I ended up throwing it away. It was very disappointing. As for the custard ones, I am not sure, because I told my boyfriend to eat the jelly filled donuts I got him from Lidl instead. The 2 cents I would give, is not to have the bins so low. Also, not to have the largest item on the bottom shelf. read more

Please bring back my twisteroos and we need some vanilla not vanilla flavoring but Mexico has some of the best vanilla and would love to be able to buy some, Mexico also makes clear vanilla for frostings. I love this place. Dalia is very hospitable. Every thing is delicious. The strawberry aqua fresca is my absolute favorite... ask for a taste (dont sleep on the horchata either). The aqua frescas are so cold that they come with little pieces of ice in them. It's like the best strawberry ice cream you ever had... liquified. This is a store/snack/dessert place. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The first thing you'll see is a freezer with paletas, Mexican popsicles. Then there's a whole row of ice cream, with some unique flavors I wish were more prevalent in the US. Drinks like horchata, jamaica, pina colada, and mamey juice round out the bar. I have been waiting for this Dulceria to open up and have been there twice in the past couple weeks. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and glad you stopped by. The ice cream is very good and there is a huge selection of natural and unique flavors. They provide samples of the various ice cream flavors and they also have gourmet popsicles (paletas). We also saw other customers ordering fresh fruit cups which looked amazing and huge. There is an inside bar area with chairs in case it is too hot to sit outside. They also sell a large selection of pinata's with all the goodies to fill them. This Dulceria is a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Love this shop! It's half treats to be enjoyed now, like ice cream and popsicles, and half treats to be enjoyed later, like bagged snacks and sweets. Two of us came here on a whim recently given the highly-positive reviews, and upon entering, our eyes were dazzled by the pinatas and colors! I was so excited to try the ice cream flavors, because a lot of them cannot be found anywhere else in Richmond. After staring at the options for some time, we finally made our decisions - one scoop of coconut in a cup and one scoop of tres leches on top of a slice of tres leches, also in a cup. Both of the servings were huge. I took one bite of the coconut, and it blew my socks off! The flavor was so fresh and strong. After a while, though, the flavor became a little bitter. I think the ice cream had something else mixed in, something like a pecan, and it was cooked a little, bringing out a bitter taste. I was not a fan. The tres leches was good, but I think a traditional tres leches cake is much better. In an ice cream, you just can't get the depth of flavor that the original dessert provides. On my next visit, I may venture into the fruit flavors of mango or passion fruit. While we had a minute, I took a quick peek in the back where all the snacks were kept. The aisles were full of interesting finds; I want to go back to buy some to try them out! Bottom line: Because this place offers such a unique menu of flavors and tempting packaged treats, I will be back. I won't be getting the coconut or tres leches ice cream though. read more
