I hired Dallas Computer Repair Company (a Karls Technology DBA, karlstechnology.com) to set up an eero mesh WiFi system. The technician was unable to complete the setup, and in the process took my printer offline and could not get it working again before he left. When he couldn't get the eero working, he told me the problem was my internet provider (AT&T) and that the eero device itself was defective -- neither was true. I set up the same eero myself afterward, on the same connection, with no issues. Despite the incomplete job and a printer left broken, I was billed $535.25. When I disputed it (Ticket #2296534), I received two form-letter responses insisting billing is based on time on-site regardless of outcome, with no acknowledgment of the incomplete work, broken equipment, or the inaccurate explanation I was given. After this experience I found a consistent pattern of similar complaints about this company across BBB and other review sites -- incomplete visits, full billing regardless of outcome, and unresponsive escalation. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY To reiterate what other reviewer posted, Dallas/Carrollton/Plano/The Colony/Keller (take your pick) Computer Repair creates the false impression they are a local repair company, but they are not headquartered here. Zachery, our tech, came to service a desktop memory issue. He spent the entire time searching Google on his phone, finally rolling back a video driver. He never did a "four point quality check" as the company promised. That very day, I continued to have performance issues PLUS new problems, related to the rollback, which the technician admitted. He came back a second time and tried another fix - no improvement. I tried for over two weeks to get someone back to actually run diagnostics - Memtest continued to show errors, but Zach never bothered to even try recreating himself. $250 plus "travel" expenses for absolutely nothing - actually, less than nothing, since my unit is now worse off than before. The company refused to send out a more competent technician, and because no one would call me back, my two weeks "expired" and the company said they would need to charge me the $250 all over again! read more

This appears to be a "Local" trustworthy company, but they are a National chain that subs out to low-level techs that may or may not know what they are doing and only offer a 2-week warranty on work provided. They replaced a screen on a computer for my Daughter that failed 1 month to the day of the repair, and no help was offered and the representative on the phone basically said, "Dude, you wanna another appointment or not you gonna have to pay" Obviously poor repair work and no warranty on service after 2 weeks...... read more

My experience is just as the others experienced. Zak came on 7/3 to do a repair and the same problem has continued since then - today is 7/17/25. Several phone calls, being told someone will call you, and they do not, then they say it will be another service call to come out - and so on - too much to list here, just do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THESE LOSERS. I contracted Dallas Computer Repair Service to perform a mirror copy from an old HP laptop to a new Dell desktop both using Windows 11. What I got was a lot of double talk by an incompetent tech. This company is a/k/a Karl's Technology. They fixed a mapping issue 2 years ago on a new computer. Opened another office, so needed another computer -- same mapping issue. Contacted them, they acknowledged it was the same issue and provided a consultant. The consultant admitted he was not familiar with Apple products and spent an hour googling the issue, during which time I asked him to pull my prior record, contact someone else at Karl's, etc. -- to no avail. I was charged full price -- an hour of his and my time wasted -- and was told the charge would be reviewed. Jeremiah was the tech they sent. Quick story that sums up our experience with these clowns. We were having problems with our computer running slow and internet periodically kicking us off. The tech comes out and is a nice enough guy and he ends up recommending that we buy a new computer due to the fact that ours is 9 years old. Fair enough. We go ahead and order a new one right there on the spot and Jeremiah says that he's going to start backing up all of our data while we wait a couple of days for the new one to deliver. Both of us work from home and rely heavily on our computer to do our jobs. It is crucial for our livelihood. In a nutshell, by the time he left, we were in worse shape than when he showed up and when we made multiple attempts through phone calls to get them to come back out and fix the problems that they left us with, guess what? They said Jeremiah would call us back. He did that...a day later. Told my wife that there was nothing he could do and for me to call my work IT department. So for a week of scrambling trying to get our jobs done, the new computer delivered and we were able to set it up ourselves. So, we ended up paying them almost $200 to put us in a terrible position and then not come back to do anything about it. No follow up phone call from the owner to try and remedy the situation. Horrible customer service in our opinion. The 5 star reviews are completely false! The tech will send you to the link to write a review before he leaves when you think everything is fine, then you discover it isn't, you are ghosted. I came back and changed this review because in 5 minutes after he left, it seemed fine. Within an hour, the computer was non functioning AT ALL! read more

This is a rip-off outfit. They appeared under the title of "Carrollton Computer Repair Service" but they are a mobile outfit, and adapt their name to the location of the prospective customer. The phone number is the giveaway. The technician came to my house for the problem that my computer constantly froze. He ran the standard tests, found nothing, so out of his hat, said the hard drive was deteriorating, and I needed to replace it. I emphasize that none of the tests showed that. So, I said OK. I tried calling them back to schedule a hard drive replacement (I didn't feel competent to do it) and they never called me back. My conclusion is, the technician knew it wouldn't fix the problem, and he didn't want to mess with more unsuccessful visits. So, they just threw it under the bus. I did eventually find on my own what the problem was. The computer was freezing because the motherboard battery had died. The clue was, whenever the computer turned off, none of the information, including the date was saved. Once I replaced the motherboard battery, the problem was entirely solved. I recommend this company not be used. They did not find the problem, did not admit to not finding the problem, and tried to bury the problem by simply ignoring my follow-up calls. read more

I wouldn't recommend them for any repair, and I'll explain why. Daniel came out to put in a new SSD that I'd purchased. This 27" iMac requires the glass display be removed to be able to do anything internally (which is why I, an IT person, didn't feel confident tackling it myself...I needed an Apple Certified Technician). This "certified tech",Daniel, read instructions from his phone while doing all of this (doesn't instill confidence). He replaced it, put the large screen back on with new Apple adhesive strips and all seemed to be good, until 5 months later when the screen simply fell off the front of the iMac and shattered on the floor. The iMac is still good, but it doesn't work without a screen. Screens are hard to find on the older iMacs, but a few are available for around $800 (plus the labor to install). I called Dallas Computer Repair back to see if they stood behind their work. They don't (at least not past 2 weeks). I told them this was obviously not put back together and adhered properly or it wouldn't have just fallen off! But after some time on the phone with Jeff, it became obvious they had no intention of helping me with the problem they caused. They wouldn't even help with the labor if I bought the expensive display! I would not trust this company with any computer repairs since they don't warrant their work, don't take any responsibility in problems they cause and they obviously send out ill-trained people and pass them off as certified technicians. read more

I have been "computer-less" for a week! I had called several vendors who seemed unable or less than knowledgeable about the problems I was having. Then I got and appointment with Jeremiah! He fixed my laptop that was under the control of something called Bitlocker - and it was definitely LOCKED, would not do a thing but show me the Bitlocker screen. I spent hours trying to solve the problem myself via uTube and finally gave up. Jeremiah solved the problem in minutes and after the computer had time to un-lock its crazy security (horrible!) feature, it worked perfectly! Jeremiah also completely set up my old desktop computer, installed Windows 10 (since it still had Win7), backed up all my files, and installed a free antivirus. The hoops that had to be jumped to make my old machine work were many. Jeremiah handled them all! It wasn't cheap, I must say, but I couldn't afford to lose all my data from YEARS by just buying a new computer. It was worth every penny to save it all, plus, I LOVE my old computer ;-) If you have real problems, Jeremiah will fix them! read more
