I was having a conversation witb the young lady about my watches and a place where ive taken my watches in tbe.past .that was less. The repair guy came out and gave me my watches, and said.take your watches to the store you use to go to, You've mentioned one time to many. I said i wasnt talking to you. He said i dont care. When someone gives me a price i just accept and move on. I then said i'm different from you and I have a right to my opinion ?? Well apparently not there, he thanked me and i left and told him that i will tell others about him and his ways. I took my watches someplace else and it was less expensive. Maybe he has heard that his location was pricey before, and he showed me, he was saying by his actions to take your cheap black ass business elsewhere, and keep your mouth shut in my store. I'm not an arrogant person nor was i talking to him. Well!!! He obviously didnt want my business, (his asst couldnt say anyting, but she nodded that the batterirs were expensive) . I will never set foot in that store, where my conversation is scrutinized unbeknowst to me. He deals with whom he wants. What if all stores picked and chose,.? Sounds like 1930 to me. If I could give 0 stars I would! Gem was a referral from a family member and they were great…read moreduring the initial sales phase (the money taking phase). Ultimately though we DID NOT have the same experience that our family member did, I guess because we were unhappy with their work product and we had to go back and attempt to take advantage of post-sale service. If you are concerned about your jewelry store standing behind their work, you really should go somewhere else. We went in to have a tension ring re-sized, which they claimed they could do. We paid over $1000 for the resizing, and within 3 months the stone JUST FELL OUT!! Luckily after an hour or so on our hands and knees we found the diamond. We took it back for them fix it, which they did, for another charge of several hundred dollars. Guess what, almost immediately the stone became loose again. I gave them one more chance and to their credit they did not charge for the 3rd try. But within weeks the stone actually FELL OUT again (see picture). I went back in again, frustrated as you can imagine but calm, and they said they would stand behind their work BUT their work WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE DIAMOND EVEN IF their work caused the stone to fall out and lost forever! What kind of comfort is that? Are they afraid of their own work product resulting in lost stones apparently? But I digress, Gem now claims that the ring style is the real issue, not their work! They say that tension settings are an inherently unreliable mount. Really? I don't think so because my wife had this same tension ring for over 10 years and experienced absolutely no problems at all. I kept telling them but to no avail, it's not their fault. In the end, I simple asked for my money back because they didn't do what we paid them to do! But, you guessed it, they would not accommodate at all, and had the audacity to tell me to go somewhere else and still kept my money So that is my recommendation to you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! There are dozens of reputable jewelry dealers in the Dallas area that can sell a ring, but only the better establishments stand behind their work, and Gem is NOT one of those retailers.

Called ahead of time to see if this place buys silver and gold, diamonds etc. Indeed they did the man on the phone was nice. When I walked in they all gave me a dirty look. Basically wondering why I was in there. I said I was looking to sell and the man at the front instantly looked inconvenienced and displeased. He asked "what you got" I pulled out some very nice gold earrings very heavy. He expected those and some other stuff, told me their worth and would not even give me an offer. Kept questioning me on how much I payed for the items, even if I did know I'm trying to sell to you why would I tell you that? He wasn't convinced my item was 18k he kept telling it was 10k and if it was 18k than maybe it would go for more. Dude wouldn't believe a word I said, nor did he care. Total waste of time, waste of a call, waste of a drive. My point being if you actively buy G&S and a customer brings you reasonable items you need to be willing to at least make a lowball offer. Don't tell me you buy, have me come up their quote me a price on my stuff and not even make me any offer?! That's a waste of both our time. Annoying, distasteful will not come here again. Not to mention boy has a attitude the whole time. Let's just say this is a place to buy overpriced jewelry DO NOT go here to sell. The funny thing being they were all salty I wasn't there to buy. This place is awesome! The owners, Dallas and Doreen (married 39 years!) are the BEST!! This is a 100% locally owned and ran FAMILY business. Completely honest people who genuinely care for their customers and are willing to go the extra mile to work with you and be fair in this crazy time and uncertain economy. They are so fair, reasonable and no sales tactics. Just 100% legit and honest business owners. I cannot recommend ENOUGH this business for all of your gold ( and other precious metals) investments and jewelry needs. The staff are so friendly and full of southern hospitality that I really felt like I had known them, despite it being the first time I had became acquainted. Even after a couple of hours and plenty of "Can I see this one and that one's!" They never made me feel as if I was taking up their time, or rushed me. Also to add my 7 month old loosing interest and getting fussy, the staff would help to entertain him. They worked with me after I explained I was on a strict budget. Never tried to persuade me into purchasing, but rather help search and find just the right item. The lobby area plus restrooms were very tidy and clean. Wonderful selection to choose from. I also had a ring resized they did a wonderful job and the turnaround time was incredible. Should have bought our diamond here originally!! We got our ring online and wanted a nicer setting. We went by Dallas Diamonds on Sunday and even though they were closed, the owner (whose legal name is actually Dallas, btw) happened to be there and let me and my fiancé in. After asking what we were looking for and learning I was a teacher, he and his sweet wife promised to help us. I went back Monday, and for the money we had budgeted, got probably 3x the ring we could have afforded elsewhere. They are a family owned business with a sick inventory. I have driven by this place for years. My husband lost a diamond in his wedding band. Dallas Diamonds fixed it fast and did not charge a lot of money. A few months later I broke a necklace that was given to me by my late great aunt. I was devestated because I knew it could not be fixed but I thought I would give it a try and see if they could repair it. Well, it took them 24 hours and it was fixed! We've done business with Dallas Diamonds for a few years. From repairs to purchases. We love them! They are reasonable and customer service is impeccable. Matt has taken care of us for a while, doing a great job. However, when I personally met one of the owners Doreen (Dori), found a friend for life. Took a 38 year old wedding ring in to get an estimate on replacing a lost diamond. The entire staff made us feel very welcome. They showed me a crack in another diamond and quoted a price to replace the missing diamond and the cracked diamond that was cheaper than the price to replace only the missing diamond quoted at other jewelers. They said it would take a couple of days. The repair was completed by that afternoon. When I picked up the ring it looked brand new. Great price, great service and very friendly staff. read more

I needed a watch band replaced. Just couldnt get my fingers to place the pin in the watch. I had struggled with it a couple hours so decided to go to pay them to do it since they do this all the time. The people there were courteous and extremely helpful. When I asked them how much it was after they had fixed it, they said that there was no cost so they did it for free. I was extremely surprised and thankful. He's very approachable, he knows the product, he wants to keep a regular customer base, so he has given me great pricing that I can't find anywhere else in Dallas. He's very fair and transparent on both sides of trading. If he can't buy or sell something for the price you want, he will explain why, including what he has invested in it and how he is calculating his pricing. I appreciate the honesty. They have a large inventory and are actively trading a lot. It seems like he is making his money by keeping a lot of activity moving through his store at the best prices in town. He's not trying to make all his daily profit off of big premiums on on a few transactions. I keep looking for other deals in Dallas, but I keep coming back to Uptown because it's the best deal financially and certainly the best service experience I have found to date!
