took my wife's rolex to get a link removed from the bracelet, the young guy tried to remove it first but seemed to struggle, then took it to the area they work on jewelry, without asking they began torching the bracelet with the torch to try to remove the pins, after about 15minutes the jeweler seemed to give up and say they could not remove the screws from the watch, and just gave the watch back. upon inspection i noticed the screws had been damaged significantly and the bracelet had been slightly scuffed. the young man immediately got defensive and said there was nothing he could do, and if i could get the screws removed he would replace them. the older gentlemen stepped in and said they are not responsible for what they had just done. just a bit disappointed, i live down the street and i am a vintage watch collector, i thought i found a new place to have my watches worked on and serviced, ill stick to Bedford Gold and silver, The drive is worth it. read more

I took my ring in to have it sized today. I have had the ring for 30 years. Dory did an excellent job of helping me. She told me that they could possibly get it done today. I told her there was no rush. She called me back 15 minutes before the store closed and said it was ready. I live less than 5 minutes away so I hopped in the car and went to pick it up. Update to my previous review: Finally sold the ring. It was indeed NOT 10k gold, was 14k as I told them I knew it was. So, I can see two reasons why I was told it was 10k. One, the person doing the evaluating was not knowledgeable or two, the person was being deceptive. Well, I guess there could be a 'person was having a rotten day and just made a mistake' option but that really doesn't make me feel any better about the whole thing. Editing this review to reply to the rude comment Dallas Diamonds made in reference to my first review: Yes, I solicited Dallas Diamonds for a free evaluation - a service you offer. I did not get something you don't normally give so please don't pretend you are being magnanimous. Yes, it can be hard to hear an opinion that we don't like but my complaint is not that I am unhappy with the opinion - it's that I think your opinion was either deceptive or uneducated, I do not know which. Your employees TOLD me my ring was 10k and indicated the maker of the ring cheated me. I knew this to be 100% false and subsequent evaluations from other jewelers agreed with me. The ring WAS 14k. So I ask you DD, were your employees uneducated or were they trying to scam me? Either way you answer, it doesn't say much for your store. Yes, I am not required to transact business with your store which is why I didn't sell the ring to you and will never take my business there again. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. The reply to my initial review gives you a rough idea of their customer service. I was instantly and genuinely greeted by Doreen (owner) who introduced me to Dallas (owner). Dallas took the time to carefully inspect my Krugerrand coin, and gave me a reasonable and fair cash exchange, but my experience did not stop there. My husband and I were celebrating 10 years of marriage and he had given me a BEAUTIFUL new diamond engagement ring earlier in the year but I was having trouble finding the right band that could stand on it's own, and also compliment the ring, as well as sit flush next to it. Possibly Dallas Diamonds is better at selling than buying from the public. I've only been there this one time. I purchased this 1+ carat diamond in 1987 as an investment and I thought that at that time $2,700 was a reasonable bargain. It had an accompanying GIA lab report. Last week I took this diamond and its GIA report into Dallas Diamonds to sell it. The clerk was fairly knowledgeable. His first comment was "it's very nice"! I stood waiting for over half an hour as they didn't have chairs for a customer to sit in. He sat in a comfortable office chair while he he proceeded to examine the loose diamond. After a full half hour of as nicely as possible, talking down the diamond, the clerk from Dallas Diamonds offered me $2500! I'm certain it's expensive to own a building. It's a free country to try and make a profit. I do have to question how a supposedly big outfit such as Dallas Diamonds could offer $2500 for an investment grade 1+ carat fine diamond with a GIA certificate when just a week prior I received an offer of $6000 from a diamond dealer in a Midwestern state. I won't return to Dallas Diamonds. read more
